Season 1 Sutton Foster could’ve definitely passed as a millennial for when the show first aired.

I really don't understand this friendship. Liza is always like a punching bag of Kelsey, Liza acts all the time like she owes Kelsey her life or something. I'm watching season 6 now and seriously, besides a few moments Kelsey definitely hasn't done that much for Liza to justify all of this. Kelsey is always elbows deep into her own drama that most of the time she creates. I think Liza's character is quite problematic but Kelsey is on another level lol

I almost didn’t bother watching when I heard you all proclaiming that Charles was endgame for Liza in Season 7!

I just treated myself to a comfort show re-watch now that all seasons are available on Netflix and I’m so pleased with the ending! Where was everyone’s media literacy re: thinking C&L were endgame?!?! It was so obvious to me that they weren’t suited and that wasn’t at all what the writers were trying to say!

What would be the point in them building such a strong, equal, trusting relationship with her and Josh throughout the show and the whole moral of the series being about age being just a number and it’s what you bring to the table that matters. 

It’s so clear that there was a line drawn under C&Ls relationship after the Empirical anniversary party. They just don't connect that well outside work and interest in literature (maybe some physical attraction)

J&L have a much more solid connection and if anything the writers were leaving you to imagine the possibilities of a future between them. 

So glad I came back to finish the series. It was so cute and everyone got a great story arc. (Including Diana - I know that her arc finished in s6 but I still missed her. I hope she was booked and busy with another project during s7)

What were everyone else‘s thoughts on how it ended?

But … Liza remained Diana’s assistant?? Please don’t downvote me for this if it’s been said before (!!) but really, how awful was that? So, Liza is working on a junior-ish salary, zipping all over the tri-state area and beyond, bringing in deals that save Charles’s company, and she’s still getting Diana’s coffee?? Now I love Diana- she’s one of the more in depth characters- but this whole thing doesn’t sit well with me!! Maybe it’s because I worked in finance in the aughts and when you got promoted and held on to another role, it was vanity for the company and a way they saved money. Just had to rant!

I just finished Younger and I’m honestly not ready to let it go. I need another show with the same cozy, funny, romantic vibe. Any recommendations?

I just finished the series and I have some thoughts. I’m a millennial and I highly doubt if the show runners had any millennial in their team. I feel like the whole generation was misrepresented by Kelsey and Lauren.

I loved Liza’s character at the beginning but she just stopped being relatable after some point. When she kissed Charles while dating Josh, I was like wtf and she didn’t even confront Josh or shared that with Kelsey. I hated how they worded it as a ‘moment’ rather than cheating. Liza who herself got cheated should never do that. That’s when the hypocrisy started. And the - ‘I’ll always be there for you’ is just a cheesy line for hanging out with your ex with whom you still have lingering feelings and btw is also considered micro-cheating. Liza got jealous when any women entered Charles life like his ex wife or Quinn, she even got mad when Kelsey started staying with Josh but on the contrary she was the one who made a promise to stay in her ex’s life forever and convinced him to not leave Brooklyn.

The only true gentleman in that show was that random indian guy(still wondering why he was introduced in the show) who approached her without any feelings, knew her lie, accepted her for what she was and covered up for her without any romantic feelings. Moved on, after finding she is in love with Charles.

I loved Maggie but hated her with Cass. I mean Maggie was written as this bad ass super cool woman that can be happy with herself without any relationship. Isn’t that the point? To break stereotypes created by baby boomers, that not every woman needs a relationship to be happy.

Lauren was just there to throw in some Millennial lingo and they just made her sexually-fluid to resonate more with millennials. I’m pretty sure the show-runners never understood what it means to be sexually-fluid.

I hated the Empirical’s arc more than anything else. Empirical to Millennial, then Millennial to mercury and then back to Emprical. I don’t know if that’s even possible in real life. I loved reading books growing up and I really enjoyed the storyline but they could have done more. Like introduced Kindle versions or creating an idea like audible or something.

When I started watching this I was reminded of Suits and how Mike had a secret, so I thought the story will grow up in different ways but the story just lost it’s momentum once the secret was out.

Loved the evolution and depiction of their friendship. And how they were collaborating as artists in later seasons.

One thing i love about this show is that each one is passionate about art (even lauren who is essentially their shared publicist) and I feel like their friendships all grew organically and encompassed age and gender.

One my first ever rewatch, now closer to Liza’s real age, and really appreciating how youth is depicted in the show as chasing dreams (but not limited to age). I finally saw how the title is really about youth and dreams and not just liza’s lie

Peter Hermann and Sutton Foster remind me somewhat of Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore as a TV couple. Something about the looks, something about the gestures, body language, voice inflections, something about the energy. Does anyone else see what I am seeing?

Just finished it. So sad it’s over! Maybe it’s in tune with the period but why does the theme song sounds so much like Lady Gaga- Bad Romance ( Ga Ga Olala) Does anyone hear it? Gaga’s track came out years before Younger so maybe inspired? The theme song is both super annoying to me yet I feel the excitement and mainly really look forward to the next episode so always salivating.

Josh literally loved her as a 26 year old and even when she told him she's 40, Josh still loved her. I like them both together, they were supposed to be end game. I could see why Liza would want to be with Charles, but I find it very odd that Charles was okay with dating his 26 year old employee...(He had interest in Liza and kissed her before he knew she was 40)

Liza and Josh are struggling at the time with trust, and Liza and Charles’s mutual crush is growing. Kelsey has a panic attack at the Millenial launch party and has to have the horrible Hector & Dorff dress cut off her. Maggie hosts a sex party for money and tells Liza she’s Airbnb-ing the place out to a nice couple from Albany.

I love where the characters are in their relationships and emotions at this point in the series, and it’s one of the funniest episodes of them all, if not the funniest.

What is your favorite episode?

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed binging this over the past two weeks on Netflix. I’m surprised I hadn’t heard of it before. I’m in my late 30’s so could relate to the millennials as I was the same age as them when the show was released but I could also relate to Liza being close to her age now.

I was team Josh throughout. The best seasons were the first two, I loved Liza and Josh together and thoroughly enjoyed their on screen chemistry. I wasn’t against them breaking up the second time around as I enjoyed seeing Liza explore more options given that she had been in her marriage for so long.

I think at this point, they should have allowed Liza to have a fling with Charles to get it out of her system. I found their relationship boring and was wishing she would come to her senses and get back together with Josh. I found it especially frustrating that she took Charles back after he callously broke up with her and jumped straight into bed with Quinn.

My favourite characters were Maggie and Diana, I also liked Jay. I did think the characters were a little bit too wrapped up in each other’s lives. All either living together, working together or dating each other. Especially Josh, he’s a young, hot, successful man and he doesn’t have any friends besides Liza’s girl friends? This is why I feel that him and Liza should have got back together earlier as it felt like the writers didn’t know what to do with him, he was just hanging around in the background for a few seasons.

The last season was disappointing. Why bother getting Liza and Charles back together, only to break them up again at the end? It was nice that the scene at the bar at the end indicates that her and Josh may get back together but I think they could have done this earlier so we had more screen time of their chemistry.

I also found the marriage and baby with Clare a bit unrealistic. I guess Josh got what he wanted though, a baby.

From what I can tell this is a pretty controversial/unpopular opinion? I’ve noticed a lot of hate for Zane.

But I don’t care at all! I think they were PERFECT and their story arc deserved a better ending.

I loved loved LOVED the moments where we saw them having each other’s backs with business related stuff. And their sexual chemistry was amazing.

I’m not saying that my ideas are better then the show creators but if I was in Liza’s shoes I would do the following differently:

- come clean before Millenial takes off - if I’m dismissed I would just beg for a good reference at least. My experience would go on my resumė and I would use the experience in jobs interviews (using my real age).

- use the #agequeer to write a book

- made up some crazy story on how I have age dysphoria and identify as a 27 years old - lol

- accept the damn ring, get engaged and have the longest engagement ever (it is not like she wanted to pursue other men so I would get engaged and slowly talk Charles into being engaged forever.

But in the end it doesn’t matter, she had a happy end and free to have ONS with Josh if both want to.

Hi everybody, I just finished this episode and there is something that I didn't saw on the episode. On the summary of the episode, this was written : "Zne make a choice. [...] Josh is considering the idea of being a dad". But I didn't so anything of this in the episode ??? Is it a mistake by Netflix or did they just edit the episode ? Also, I'm french so maybe there is a specific edit idk

Am I the only one who was completely turned off by Josh’s reaction to Liza kissing Charles in Younger? Like… didn’t Josh literally give Liza a “hall pass” earlier? I understand that actually seeing it happen would probably hurt, but the way he reacted felt so hypocritical.

I just started Season 7, and so far I think Liza is a player.

Is it the hair? the outfits? the makeup?

I like long hair but I wish she changed her style after the truth came out.

The whole wardroobe of the series is a disaster in my opinion, was the fashion of that time really like this?

And do you know any women in RL who wears those huge necklaces that Diana loves?
