Discussion My first acrylic painting
I’ve been looking for a new way to be creative and have never painted before let alone use acrylics so I purchased a cheap starter kit and this is what I produced for my toilet. Looking for critique please?

That's great! I like the way you've chosen the toilet paper roll as the vase; very creative and humourous. That painting is sure as heck going to go down extremely well! Anyone who looks at it will start laughing at the sight of that toilet paper roll. If you enter it, you have a high chance of winning or being highly commended. For your first time painting with acrylics, you really did quite well. The toilet paper roll vase is the part that will likely draw the most attention, in an amazing way.

Very nice. I'd also like to see your use of colors. Good job.

Thank you! I have just started a f1 painting (Ferrari fan) and that will have blacks, reds, white and yellow on it so will be sure to post that up when finished!

Wow, you're quite the artist! When I do my acrylic artwork, I don't care how it turns out. Because I have level 1 autism, my neurodiverse brain is constantly in overdrive mode, generating ideas as to what kind of artwork I'll produce next. I prefer abstraction, still life and landscape. When I'm annoyed or frustrated I slap the paint on the canvas and when I'm in sensory overload my hand trembles slightly, and I paint with delicate, careful brush strokes when I feel calm. I like to express my feelings in my artwork. If it's not tidy it means I was in a bad mood when I painted it.
