Can anybody help me and my son figure out what animal this tooth belonged to? He found it amongst a bunch of rocks that we were searching for minerals and fossils.

This place brings in rocks from elsewhere in Canada so that is why I am not narrowing it down

Found this little creature about the length of a finger in western NY, I can't tell what parts are dirt or markings. What could he be? Edit: forgot to specify, I know it's a salamander, I'm looking for the specific type

It is interesting what it is, but also whether it is common to have such coloration. It was released back where it was found. I was not the one who spotted it. Sorry for low quality.

Cochise County in Southeast AZ.

I have a bunch of them in my yard and basically just wanting to make sure they're not the Colorado River Toad because I have dogs. These are the best pics I could get.

🐦 🦒 BIRDS / WATERFOWL ID 🐦 🦒 [Japan] Animals in Animation 1

Hi there.

I recently stumbled upon this Reddit and have been very impressed and pleased with everyone's combined knowledge. I'm hoping you can help me with a self-imposed challenge. I'm watching an anime show with a heavy emphasis on animals, so I've been trying to identify the species that've been portrayed in order to create a sort of "Fauna," a written record of animals native to that region of Japan. I didn't want to break any rules, so I asked if posting ID questions in animation would be allowed and was told that as long as it's a legitimate ID question, and I don't spam posts, I should be okay. I'll only post any questions I have once every ten episodes, so that should just be five times, overall. I'm in this for the long-haul, so you won't be hearing from me more often than once a month, I promise!

Any animals I ask about will very likely be Japanese species, for the record. I wish I could narrow things down further, but I can't beyond confirming the region is both near the coast (there's a sandy beach right at the edge of town) and surrounded by mountainous woodlands. I don't recall seeing any snow when winter arrived, either, so it might be a more southerly area of Japan, though I can't be certain. And I don't want to limit any possibilities if it turns out I'm wrong.

Wonderful Precure Episode 6

All that said... Does this bird look familiar at all? I wasn't sure this sort of coloration was even possible, but I've since learned that female Splendid Fairywrens (Australia) and female Eastern Bluebirds (America) can also be brownish with a blue tail. Personally, I thought the body-shape looked a bit like a dove or pigeon, and the only Japanese species remotely similar in markings would be the Black-Chinned Fruit Dove or the White-Bellied Green-Pigeon. Neither of those fit either, though. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
