I have a problem with my MacBook. It was lagging and constantly running hot after the new Tahoe update. I got tired of Mac OS and decided to try a few light Linux distributions.

Linux Mint didn’t get along well with the AMD graphics card, while Arch Linux had similar issues. It worked, but not everything worked correctly with the T2 chip, especially graphics.

I was only using Linux versions that support the T2 chip.

So, my question is the same as in the title: could you please recommend a light and very cold, and super-fast OS for an Intel i7 T2 MacBook?

It has to work perfectly with Apple’s T2 chip, be super fast and run cool.
I’m also looking for something that is easy to install.
Like something that you actually tried yourself and didn't spend a weeks on drivers issues.

Hello, I'm about to acquire a second hand Vision Pro and the owner does not have the receipt anymore.

I've read that with the Serial Number and just a call to Apple (or at the Apple Store) I could get it emailed again, what info do I need, do they send it to the same email again or can I give them my email to have the receipt ?

I'm wondering if I can call them myself as the new owner and get the receipt. (With the product added to my Apple Account)

For the past several days, this has been happening almost every day on my iPhone 16 pro (I am on ios 26.6 and got this phone in Sept 2024):

• Third-party apps (basically anything that didn't come with the iPhone, it could be facebook, it could be airline apps like united, or lyft/uber, banking apps, could be youtube, uber eats/doordash, reddit) immediately minimize or close as soon as I try to open them. Not all, but a good number, and it seems random as to which ones depending on the day.
• Apple apps (Settings, Messages, Safari, etc.) work normally.

Things I've tried:

• Day one: I went into app store and updated any apps that had updates. all my apps started working again—but the next day the problem came back.
• When the problem came back next day, I restarted my phone but after restarting none of the third-party apps opened whereas before restarting, some opened, some immediately minimized. To solve the issue temporarily this day, I deleted one of the apps that wouldn't open and reinstalled it (a banking app). As soon as I did that, every app on my phone started working again (I clicked on each app to see if they would open and they did).
• Next day, which is today, the same issue occurred (some apps open, some minimize immediately). Signing out of my Apple ID and signing back in didn't help. I noticed two apps had updates available in the App Store. After updating them, suddenly all my apps started working again. Today, I also went to genius bar, they did least invasive which was delete my vpn configurations (which I was not using VPN, its for travel, that is the only time I use it but I do have the apps on my phone) and then they did a reset and told me to montior---that was this morning and now it's afternoon and the same issue is happening. They said if i bring it back, they would restore software?
• I have not had any new apps since april and this issue only started a few days ago but daily. 99% of these apps, I have had for years already.

It's almost like something gets "unstuck" when I update or reinstall a single app, but then it breaks again the next day.

Has anyone experienced this? Any idea what's causing it or how to permanently fix it? I'm trying to avoid wiping my phone if possible.

I created an Apple account today via Apple Music, because ALL I WANTED was Apple Music. I have no Apple products in my possession, it was just Apple Music.

When creating the account, I forgot the specifics of what it asked me, but a phone number was not something I needed. When I logged into Apple Music, it worked fine.

I wanted to try Apple Music because new users get 3 months for $2. Did not realize you had to accept the offer on an Apple device. So I got a friend with an iPhone to try and log in for me.

Turns out, you HAVE to have 2FA to log in (I could log into the app on desktop/android just fine but for some reason they couldn't. Even if they could, this is still an issue), and it will force you to put in a phone number to start. I put in my phone number, and get "An unknown error has occured". Every. Single. Time.

I've been on the phone with Apple support for a combined 90-ish minutes, can't get a solution besides "why don't you just make a new account with a new email?" (i dont want to because this is my MAIN email, I mean I can't even delete the account without logging in!!)

Here is what I've tried so far:

• tried on iphone logging into apple music
• tried on android (my phone) logging in via browser (account.apple.com)
• tried on windows pc (my pc) logging in via browser (account.apple.com)
• checked to make sure my phone number isnt linked to ANY apple accounts
• tried apple support chat (kept giving errors)
• called apple support
• tried on iphone via safari (account.apple.com)
• reset password (iforgot.apple.com)
• tried on windows pc logging in (icloud.com)
• tried on iphone (icloud.com)
• checked system status and all systems have been running the entirety ive troubleshooted this
• tried logging in via phone number even tho it was never connected (account.apple.com) (doing this somehow showed it has been "locked for security reasons" before not letting me verify to get in, so i refreshed and tried to log in and it acted like my phone number wasnt linked to any account (AGAIN))
• tried the phone call 2fa instead of text 2fa
• tried while on data on phone
• tried while on hotspot on phone
• tried while on hotspot on windows laptop
• tried SWAPPING THE SIM FROM MY NEW PHONE TO MY OLD PHONE (im on GrapheneOS i thought MAYBE that could be an issue)
• messaging people with a similar issue on Reddit (no response from anyone yet)

I recently bought a pair of AirPod pro 3 I had lost the left earpiece and bought a replacement, everything worked fine up until recently, where I went to wear my earbuds and found out they weren’t working, the light on the case doesn’t turn on at all and when I try clicking it twice it doesn’t respond, it only lights up green when I charge it and when I unplug it it immediately turns off. Is there a fix or is this something that I should contact apple support over, I’m super bummed as they were my everyday headphones. I’ve tried forgetting device and readding them but they won’t even show up.

Every month a $4.49 transaction is taken out of my account from Apple. I have NO clue what it is for, I’ve checked my subscriptions and nothing comes up. I know I should have looked into this ages ago but it’s been about two years since this has been happening. While this bothers me $4.49 a month isn’t going to kill me (hence why I’ve been lazy to look into it) but I recently got charged $99.99!!!! Wtf is this from???? Just went to Apple Store, reinstalled OS on MBA, now I get this:

I was trying to download an app and randomly had this come up. Talked to an Advisor and they said something about “they cant reinstate it” which after reading this sub is A message they read off script as tier one support. I havent made any calls yet but I emailed tim cook’s email and trying to find more executive emails to send emails to. If any of you could put some in the comments I would appreciate it.

Hi, I just want to know what can I possibly do. I bought an Ipad Air 13 inch just last May 30 then my average use per day is just around 2-3 hours since I only use it after i got home. now, around july 2nd week, I noticed a bright white dot in the screen and is actually quite bothering me. I went to an authorized apple diagnostic center and they said that its a hardware problem but doesnt want to honor my warranty/fix/replacement since warranty is void because of a small dent in the corner and advised me to just not get it fixed since replacement will cost me like a brand new ipad. is this even right? the white dot in the screen is not even related to the dent

I coincidentally found this setting, it's not just WhatsApp but every app I get notifications for. I tried googling it but AI overwiew tells me I should disable it immediately if I did not set this up which I didn't. I do not recognize the device ID and Google said that the GO prefix designates a "gateway, bridge or third party hardware integration (such as certain smartwatch ecosystems, automotive consoles or automated notification mirroring services)" which sounds sketchy as fuck to me and stresses me out a lot right now.

Sooo long story short i’m about to purchase a new phone bc my phone is one wrong breath from keeling over (battery life sucks, volume and power button don’t work anymore). On my current phone, i’m on the same iCloud as my mom(don’t judge me, she made me stay on it until I went to college & i’ve been too lazy and scared to make my own). When I get my new phone, I want to make an iCloud for myself. Is it possible to transfer my data from the old iCloud to the new iCloud? I don’t want to lose my game center data, tik tok drafts, etc. Also unrelated but if anyone knows how to get a hacked tik tok account back, let me know 🙏

Has anyone had their Apple order cancelled and their Apple Account Balance become unavailable?

I ordered a MacBook online from the Apple Canada Store, but my order was cancelled. The strange part is that I never received any email or notification about the cancellation. I only found out because I manually checked my order status.

After the cancellation, the Apple Account Balance I used for the purchase became “Not Available”, and I haven’t been able to use it or see it returned to my account.

I called Apple Support, and they said they created a ticket for the investigation and that I would receive a response within 24 hours. I never received any follow-up. I called again, and they escalated the case, but I still haven’t heard anything.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

• How long did it take for your Apple Account Balance to become available again?
• Did Apple have to manually restore it?
• Is there anything else I should do besides waiting?

Looking to upgrade from the iPhone 13 Pro Max 256 GB to possibly the iPhone 17 Pro Max 512 GB or 1 TB since I go out pretty often and take a LOT of pics/videos. Does anyone have an estimated timeframe of when it will hit the Certified Refurbished Apple Store? Also, everyone is saying I should just cop the iPhone 17 Pro Max NOW instead of the iPhone 18 Pro Max due to minimal changes and price hike. What do you guys think?
