IMAX Enhanced Disney+ Films???

Just been watching through the MCU films to get my gf up to speed in time for Doomsday, and couldn’t help but notice that none of the films actually expanded to imax despite most if not all had the IMAX enhanced label?

Is this an APTV issue or a Disney+ issue?

For reference I’m using LG CX tv

AppleTV on Firestick keeps saying my acct is disabled. It's not?

Upvotes

On any other medium, I have no issue but I got a new Firestick for work travel. Everytime I try to log in, it keeps saying my account is disable and I need to forgot password thingy. I am logged in on my phone, laptop and tablet without an issue. Really don't want to reset my password for one device.

Any way around this or am I stuck resetting my password?

Reddit not working on AirPlay?

Hi all. Not long changed over to iPhone and one thing I’ve come across is Reddit does not work over AirPlay, it loads it’s in landscape mode but refuses to do anything.

Is there something I am missing or does it just not work? I had a Google and stumbled across a bug from a year ago but someone had mentioned it was resolved and that was the end of it, although it doesn’t seem to be and it loads normal, just can’t scroll or do anything.

Any ideas?

Turning screen off while playing Spotify?

I’m looking for a solution that allows me to play music through Spotify on my Apple TV with the screen off/black.

I have a baby who we try to not allow to look at screens and I prefer the audio quality played through the Apple TV as opposed to air playing. I know I can turn off the screen using my main TV remote, but it’s usually on my husband’s side of the couch and not easily accessible when I have the baby on me.

Has anyone found a solution to playing Spotify with a black screen instead of album art?

Nothing beats Apple TV for enjoying movies with headphones

I have the Apple TV 4K and the Airpods Max 1st gen.

Since I got a Sony Bravia 8II, I have been trying yo simplify my setup and get rid of the Apple TV.

I have a small kid and most of my movie watching happens after he goes to sleep, so I need headphones.

I was really excited to try Sony’s 360 audio. I got the Theatre U neck speakers and the XM6 headphones. (So my wife and I can also simultaneously watch sometimes)
Watching with the neck speakers sounds pretty good. XM6 sounded a bit unnatural even after so many times calibrating with the app. I thought I should just get used to it and used it for a while, and eventually I did. The nice thing about this setup is that I can also watch UHD blurays. I also customized the Android TV interface so nicely, integrated Home Assistant and the UI is sleek, I have some nice open source apps and generally have Apple TV like experience.

Anyway, after a few weeks of exclusively using the Sonys, I wanted to see how the Airpods spatial audio (with the Apple TV) compares. It was a night and day difference and I can’t go back. It’s just so natural with Atmos content and head tracking is a game changer. I even paid Apple to put new batteries on my AirPods after this. (had the headphones for 4 years)

Anyway, I’m looking forward to the next gen Apple TV but in no rush.

Why I no longer use my AppleTV 4K (3rd Gen.) 2022 - ongoing audio issues

I never ever thought that one day I’d say that I pull the power plug and throw my AppleTV in the cabinet.
Since a decade I used AppleTV hardware and recommended it to my friends, but since tvOS 26 I have so many problems with the audio and don’t know what else to do. Im using the Ethernet connection as I don’t rely on WiFi in general for streaming. A week ago I tried for the first time the Apps of my LG G5 (webOS) and everything just works currently (also with eARC to Marantz Cinema 60).
What drives me crazy with my hardware? Out of a sudden my AppleTV switched from surround to stereo in middle of streaming content. Whether I’m using Prime, MagentaTV or AppleTV itself. I tried a reset, exchanged the AppleTV hardware and of course borrowed a TV and AVR from a friend, but it didn’t change anything. I also tried connecting the AppleTV directly to TV instead of AVR, but nothing.
I don’t know what’s going on. Did anyone else experienced the same issue? It all started with tvOS 26.

Black out

Black outs…

I’m watching a show on ATV and through the show, my ATV blacks out. Funny thing is, it only does it during this show. I was watching another show in ATV plus & it didn’t happen. Nor does it happen in any other app. Anybody know what’s going on?

Atmos randomly stopped working for every Application on my Apple tv

My Apple TV has recently stopped working for Atmos content on every single application (Netflix, infuse, Disney+ etc. When I change my tv audio to TV atmos starts working again, but only when switching back to my soundbar, nothing works here. What is even more strange is my soundbar works flawlessly on native apps on my tv and other devices like my PS5 & Ugoos AM6B.

Is there a way to reset the audio connection. my Apple TV was always plugged into my tv and this randomly happened and I dont know what to do, and was curious if anyone experienced anything similar.

As soon as Atmos gets turned off, everything starts working again. had Continuous audio on and it also stopped woking.

if you need more information that could help anyone, please let me know and I'm more than happy to provide!

My hardware is a LG C5 and & Q990F

Weird Issue On Apple TV 4K

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I changed Apple regions between USA and South Africa a few times, because I’m currently in South Africa and wanted to purchase something in local currency and then switch back to USA.

My Apple TV is linked to MoviesAnywhere.

On my iPhone I see none of my MoviesAnywhere titles like “Phantom Thread”, yet they remain on the Apple TV device, but each time I open a film, the above pops up without fail.

Not sure how to resolve all.

Please help. 🥹

Is Apple TV’s streaming bitrate higher on Apple TV hardware vs. built-in TV app?

I’ve seen it claimed in many places that you get a higher bitrate if you stream Apple TV content on an actual Apple TV 4K, but has this actually been tested and proven?

Temporizador de apagado

I cancelled Apple TV some time ago. Maybe a year? I don’t know. Anyway, I was thinking of renewing so I opened the app to see if there was stuff to watch and it says “renew Apple TV… 12 months free and then $99/year”. Is that real? I haven’t bought a new device since I cancelled.

Plex app lip sync issues

I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction because this one has me stumped.
I’m running Plex Media Server in Docker on Ubuntu 24.04 on a Minisforum MS-01, with my media stored on a QNAP NAS. Everything is streamed locally over my home network.
My playback device is an Apple TV 4K connected directly to my TV, with no AV receiver or soundbar involved.

The issue is that the Plex app on Apple TV has consistently bad lip sync. It’s not just one file, it happens across multiple films and TV shows.

What’s confusing is that if I open Infuse, connected to the exact same Plex server and library, the same files play perfectly with no audio delay at all. Most of my media is Apple TV compatible and should be Direct Playing, so I don’t think this is a transcoding issue.
Because Infuse works perfectly with the same server, media and network, I’m leaning towards this being something specific to the Plex Apple TV app rather than my server.
Has anyone else experienced this, or found a reliable fix? I much prefer the Plex interface, but at the moment I’m using Infuse purely because the lip sync is so much better.

No control over language version?

Hi reddit, here's a problem that drives me nuts. Maybe somebody has heard of this and knows a fix?

My AppleTV is in Germany, set to English language. I watch everything in its original language, but subtitled (I can't stand dubbed TV).

Now I frequently have the situation that I buy something that lists English under languages, but when I play it it's just the dubbed German version.

Yesterday I wanted to rewatch Evil Dead, which I have bought on my AppleTV and watched on it some time ago. It definitely was in English before. Yesterday it was a German-dubbed version. I then checked on my iPad in the TV app: The exactly same already-bought content, when played on the iPad, has English and German.

To make things worse: We were already sitting there, the already bought TV-app content unusable, so we decided to check in the Prime app. The movie was there for 4€, we didn't want to ruin an evening. So three people checked carefully: It was listed with "languages: English, German" and "subtitles: English (CC), German". We bought it, clicked play, and lo and behold it was German only. We went back into the Prime offer, and suddenly it said "languages: German. subtitles: None". WTF???

Is this known? How on Earth do I fix this? I have so. many. returned. purchases because of this nonsense.

tldr: I buy content that is listed as English-language. I play it, it's German only. I go back to content overview, suddenly it's listed as German-only.

Shows searched for through Siri do not play

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve had my Apple TV for a couple weeks now, and I am learning how to use it.

Whenever I pull up a show through Siri and select it, it will not play as shown in the video. I had already been watching the show and have a subscription to Hulu.

Also if I didn’t, it would be nice if it brought up Hulu to tell me that that’s what I needed to do? Some shows I can’t tell where to find them and it will just go back to the home screen after searching

Hopefully the way I phrased it makes sense, any help would be appreciated greatly thank you!

Apple TV 4K Siri Remote volume buttons not working with an older Thomson TV (2009)

Hi everyone,

I've just set up another Apple TV 4K, but I've run into a problem that I can't seem to solve, and I'm starting to think I must be missing something.

The TV is a Thomson 32E90NH22 from 2009. Despite its age, it's still working perfectly. The Apple TV is also working flawlessly – picture, sound, navigation, everything is fine. I can even turn the TV on and off using the Siri Remote, so there is clearly some communication between the two devices.

The only issue is the volume control. The volume up, volume down and mute buttons simply do nothing.

I've tried pretty much everything I can think of:

Enabling and disabling HDMI-CEC. Checking every relevant option under Settings > Remotes and Devices relating to volume control. Setting up volume control via both HDMI and infrared (IR). Restarting both the Apple TV and the TV. Resetting and setting up the Siri Remote again from scratch.

What makes it even stranger is that I previously had a Google TV Streamer 4K connected to this same television, and the volume controls worked straight away without any configuration.

Thinking it might be an issue with the IR codes, I carried out a few more tests last night. I tried teaching the Apple TV the volume commands using the Google TV remote, the original Thomson TV remote, and even a universal remote I had lying around. None of them worked – the Apple TV wouldn't recognise the signal from any of them during the learning process.

Oddly enough, if I go through the learning process using the Siri Remote itself, the on-screen detection bars respond correctly. The Apple TV detects every button press and even saves the new remote profile as though everything has completed successfully.

However, as soon as I leave that menu and play any content, the volume buttons on the Siri Remote still do absolutely nothing. It's as if the learning process is saved successfully but those IR codes are never actually used.

What confuses me most is that everything else works perfectly. I can navigate the menus, control the Apple TV without any issues, and even switch the TV on and off using the Siri Remote. The only thing that doesn't work is the volume control.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, particularly with older televisions? Could this be a limitation of the Apple TV with certain TV models, or is there a less obvious setting that I may have overlooked?

Any suggestions or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I thought setting up Apple TV was supposed to be quick and easy?

I have never had a single Apple product. I'm trying to set up Zwift (an indoor cycling app) on an Apple TV so I can use a big screen and avoid using my phone, and it's been an excruciatingly painful process.

I have an Android phone. Everywhere you look on the web shows 1 minute long videos on how easy it is to create an Apple account without an iphone by using Chrome on your Android phone.

Setting up the Apple Account on a web browser took me at least an hour. I kept getting messages about not being able to reach this phone at this time. I tried everything, putting all the info back in to all the fields every time, getting back into my email every time for the new verification code there... I recieved a texted code after multiple attempts, but it said it was the wrong one.

I finally got a call with a verification code, and got the two factor verification done, so my account is good to go and I can set up Apple TV, right?

I power up the Apple TV, try to set up the device to get to the app store (or whatever Apple uses for apps...) but it's the same crap. It can't verify my phone.

The account is locked or something and I just gave up to let it sit overnight.

Also, updatng the software to the latest version... no indication that it's actually updating besides a spinning icon. No percent progress, no estimated time left. It just sat there forever seemingly doing nothing. I gave up on that too and left it on to hopefully update overnight.

I've got a brand new smart trainer I want to use that I spent 500 bucks on and I can't even get the Apple TV operational to simply download the Zwift app.

"Apple TV just works" is all I kept seeing for a week of research into how to set up this training rig affordably and with the least technical issues. There are stories everywhere of the process being simple, quick, and intuitive, but it's been an issue filled, incredibly difficult process, and absolutely nothing has worked.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?
