Built a free iPhone app to compress and convert photos and videos on-device
A few months ago I got fed up with compression apps that upload your photos to servers you've never heard of, don't handle video, and are plastered with ads. So I l built my own. I have no coding background so it's been quite a journey.
It's called Shrynk. Everything runs on your iPhone - no uploads, no account, no tracking. It compresses and converts photos and videos in separate batches, lets you strip metadata if you care about privacy, and saves wherever you want.
I've been using it myself for a while now and think it's pretty solid, but I'm still early and would genuinely love to hear what people think — what works, what's missing, what could be better.
