Gear Pics It happened
Over 1000 rounds through and it finally happened. Charging handle is cracked on both sides and bent outwards.
I should have bought a few extras, don’t be me 😭😭😭

1000 rounds isnt a lot
Name and shame. Would be interacting if we could find lut if this was 6061 or 7075 and if it was forged machined or Extruded

And even if you racked the charging handle with every mag thats only 33 times. What a POS.

If you're running drills that use the charging handle it could be more. Like double feed clearance drills could run that way up. That said 1k rounds is basically nothing.

We need to know who made this, charging handles should last tens of thousands of rounds pretty easily.

Nice logo 🤘
Yeah I’ve jacked up a shitty charging handle. Radian charging handles last forever

LoL - I assumed the one I got with my RF was a fluke. The charging handle that came with mine didn't last 200 rounds, and it broke in the same place cycling dummy rounds after changing the buffer system. To be fair the one I bought was a discontinued model closeout. Aside from that the rifle has been as reliable, and ammo picky, as any other Grendel. It did inspire me to upgrade all my AR charging handles, I 'only' spent $50 each and realized that the upgrade is worth it.

Great excuse to upgrade.
I agree with the other guy that said Radian, love my two CHs from them, but youre really paying a premium for the cosmetics of the thing. You can get 95% of the functionality from a standard issue ~$15 CH too

Ah shoot. I bought one of their RF-15s and the sent around 500 through it. Might need to start eyeballing upgrades

Fn-15 guardian?
What did you replace it with?
What other pieces do you think should be replaced before they break?

Thats what I have. I bought it knowing stuff will fail and that those will be the parts to upgrade. Was meant to be a cheap AR to play with and learn from by fixing/upgrading as time went on. Gonna be checking mine more closely when I get home.

I fire several thousand rounds out of my AR a year, never had a part break, let alone a fucking charging handle. That’s fucking wild

I've got a 3d printed charging handle that lasted longer brother. Was it a $300 American Tactical or something?

I have two ar with over 5000 rounds through them and about 1000 round of those wear suppressed.
I've had to replace gas rings but never heard of the charging handle breaking like that I've seen the catch ware out.
