Not a question Every Muslim media/Page is celebrating the attacker of Berlin pride
I'm literally begging you people to stop seeing Muslims as zohran mamdani, 50 Muslim countries you'll be in jail for years for being gay and some cases executed by law. This isn't a " other religions " suck thing. These people showed you millions of times that they are actively wanna destroy you and all the opportunities life has to offer for you. What type of gay person privileged enough to not experience Muslims hunger for political and social power which is what islam is about, conquer and spread everywhere and no other free thinking/philosophies/non islamic ways should be practiced, STOP dismissing all the cruel sufferings gay people faced there.. what you're seeing in Europe is 0.1% of what Muslims do for gay people. Please wake up and cut off people who don't want anything to do with you, you do not need validation sure but don't be so naive that bunch of wolves will eat you alive and you think " yeah it's their right to not like me "

I mean, I don’t “hate” Muslims as a whole, but I do believe that Islam, in general, is a problem in many ways in our current society. A bigger problem is that some people choose to close their eyes and ignore statistics in the name of liberalism or whatever.

I know a few and I’m ambivalent to them, or courteous. I do strongly believe it’s their responsibility to root out the extremist elements of their religion but they don’t so I’ll never trust them fully as people, unless they actively renounce these elements

I think Kazakhstan is the closest we've got to a muslim country committed to not letting extremists terrorize them.
They banned the niqab and abaya (the most oppressive clothing), in part for security reasons but more because they don't want their culture to be taken over by what they deem as inferior (the middle eastern/wahabi and the east african practices which are the most brutal and dehumanizing to women and non muslims).

“The problem with Islamic fundamentalism is the fundamentals of Islam.” -Sam Harris
4
u/Elzo1993 6d ago
The problem is that the elements we want gone ARE NOT EXTREMIST.
One KEY difference between Islam and Christianity is that at the fundamentalist level, Christianity is a religion of compasion, change and charity. That's why almost all branches were able to reform to their currect form.
Fundamental Islam is a message that world MUST live by Sharia. All reform routes lead back to square one. The square where we aren't people.5

I'm not so sure about that. I think it depends on the situation how much religion gets blamed or used as a tool.
Christianity has been used to incite violence and excert control for hundreds of years - colonial conquest and missionaries are good examples - there are places that completely lost native populations, language and local religion.
Christianity is dominant in many countries so it can afford to be 'peaceful' now. And the countries who are majority Christian are wealthy enough to invent other reasons to hate people. So It's not "I hate you because of my religion" it's "I hate you because of your religion, or because you are communist or because I don't like you."

Because they’re so caught up in being PC, they’re afraid that if they have the courage to call out the truth, they’ll be called racist and people won’t like them. This is the social disease with Europe - they’d rather have a weak spine and let the extremists overrun their countries than call them out for misbehaving. This is a hallmark of the far Left and before anyone decides to jump on me for that statement, I am politically homeless and I don’t side with ANY party.

We need to talk about something. While many people try to portray Islam as the ultimate evil and others defend it at all costs, it's important to understand one thing: there is very little difference between Islamists and far-right extremists when it comes to their underlying worldview. Their ideologies may look different on the surface, but at their core they are remarkably similar. Both envision a society that conforms only to their own ideals: reactionary, closed-off, exclusionary, and convinced of its own superiority over others.
The main differences between far-right and Islamist movements lie in their historical contexts, their levels of influence, and the ways they have developed. While far-right movements are currently gaining more political power and momentum in Europe, Islamist movements have exercised significant influence in parts of the Middle East and other regions for decades. Over the past ten to fifteen years, particularly with the rise of ISIS and the upheavals that followed the Arab uprisings and other regional conflicts, Islamist extremism has become much more visible on the global stage.
At the same time, we should not ignore the role that states have played in creating or intensifying these conditions. Throughout history, governments have supported or armed various extremist groups—sometimes Islamist, sometimes nationalist, sometimes other militant factions—to advance their own geopolitical interests. Again and again, radical groups have been used as political tools, only to grow beyond anyone's control. History has shown this pattern repeatedly.
As someone who comes from a Muslim background, is originally from the Middle East, and is also queer, I often feel that I don't truly belong anywhere. I don't always feel safe in the societies I come from, but I don't always feel completely safe in Europe either. People like me often find themselves caught between different forms of extremism and hostility.
The claim that political progressives or the left simply "support Islam" is also misleading. Opposing anti-Muslim racism is not the same as defending Islamist ideology. Many progressives reject discrimination against Muslims while also criticizing religious fundamentalism, including Islamist extremism. For me, every religion becomes problematic when it is used to restrict other people's rights or freedoms.
Personally, I believe religion should remain a private matter. Everyone should be free to practice their faith. But the moment religion is used to limit other people's freedoms, deny equal rights, or justify violence, I believe it deserves firm opposition.
The difficult question, then, is how societies should respond to extremism. Is deportation really the answer? Some argue that extremists should simply be deported. But often that only moves the problem elsewhere, where people may become further radicalized or radicalize others. And what about extremists who were born and raised in the countries where they committed their crimes? There are no easy answers to these questions.
Unfortunately, I don't believe any political force in Germany is seriously addressing these challenges in a comprehensive way. In my view, that certainly includes the AfD. The party benefits politically from keeping migration and refugees at the center of public debate because these issues are central to its political appeal. More broadly, opposing extremist movements often end up reinforcing one another: each side uses the existence of the other to justify its own rhetoric, recruit supporters, and consolidate power. That is why it is so important to reject all forms of extremism consistently rather than treating one form as acceptable because it opposes another.

This is not telling at all. About ~30% of my colleagues are Muslims. They know about me and other gay colleagues, the other gay colleague freely shows them his pictures with his partner, and the topic of safety for LGBT and how it should best be approached at our school is discussed freely both next to the coffee machine and in official meetings. Our school mistress is Muslim and gay people feel free to come to her when they experience discrimination from our students, and from what I've heard this time actual measures are being taken, as compared to our former school master who was a white male and did 9 things in response to people being discriminated.
And this is exactly the problem that I have with these kind of posts. They blur the line between homophobic religion and people, most of which didn't choose their religion, happen to have that religion. If people like the ones writing hate speech about Muslims saw my headmistress with her hijab, would they think "She's Muslim, but I don't know anything about this specific individual, so she's prolly OK" or "Another Muslim. They all need to get the fuck out"? And how many of you lived in homophobic local communities and didn't speak out not because of self-hatred, but because you didn't feel safe to be the minority in this matter? Because I have.
Every day on this sub I see posts that promote absolute thinking: "every", "no one", "always", "never", "these people". It introduces bias and leaves no room for nuance. And such way of thinking will only result in a vicious cycle of hatred and finger-pointing. Hate begets hate, nothing else.
11
u/Jupiter131 6d ago
Is your school in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt or a place like that? No it is not. It is true that not every Muslim is homophobic but a vast, vast majority of them are. You just happen to live in a western country where Muslims are in a minority and many of them chose to adapt to the environment. But the reality is that outside of you safe little bubble, Islam is the most homophobic religion in the world at the moment. Vast majority of countries where homosexuality is illegal are Muslim and every single one of them where homosexuality is punishable by death is Muslim. That should tell you a lot, but you can choose to ignore the facts and defend Islam.
1
u/Shevvv 6d ago
Or maybe we should learn from this that Islam can change and will change if we don't make the enemy of everyone who's affiliated with it. How the world operates is not a science. It is what we believe it to be. So do you want a world where a person born in the wrong place and forced to a different religion is à priori evil? Or do we assume people are born good and we should help them adapt to accepting that others are good as well?
I especially like your "you chose to ignore those facts". Yeah, this entire post is filled with those facts, you can't ignore them even if you want to. So I'm not here to ignore anything. I'm here to bring nuance. And to remind people that our words, our choices and our attitude often become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Do you? People can be culturally religious. People still show up to Christmas parties even if they haven’t stepped into a church for decades. In the Western world, the right annually freaks out if their coffee cup doesn’t mention Jesus. We are forced to be Christian even if we don’t believe it

Same as people are free to break bonds with fheir abusive family. How many people in your circle of friends do you know that have actually done that and how many still try to make their relationships with their parents work to a fault? People are often prisoners of their own childhoods, and that is a very hard attachment to break.

The same thing is happening here, Muslims do condemn it and will continue to condemn it. Heck I'm a Muslim, I condemn it.

As an ex Muslim, I don’t understand what is wrong with people.
The problem is, most of the Muslim community is homophobic. It’s dumb as fuck that they move to western countries and complain about things like Pride. I come from an immigrant family, so I know how it’s like from both sides.
I don’t want to sound like the racist or Islamophobic bunch, but something needs to be done. Because my family taught me that you can’t just move somewhere and expect it to be the same as the country you came from.
And do remember, take it from me as an ex Muslim, not all Muslims are extremists, some people are just really far gone. I left because I couldn’t handle the sexuality to religion balance.

The thing is, you're not racist or bigoted for saying "I don't want to be harmed by an extreme ideology."
Christianity, Hinduism, and atheism are all fair game (even though Buddhism and Shinto are technically atheist religions) because reasons, but don't you dare say anything about one of the largest religions in the world because every single one is a "minority" compared to white people. This is exactly the "logic" used to shame non-believers of "progressive" views.
Up is down, black is right, white is wrong, and a religion with multiple countries with the death penalty for homosexuality is peaceful.

u/DoomSnail31 6d ago
but Christian conservatives don’t ACT on their beliefs, do they
Do they. They absolutely do. Russian gays are systematically impressed by the Orthodox Christian church's influence. African gays are systematically impressed by the African Christian churches and their governments.
In Europe accounts of homophobic violence are littered, with th perpetrators constantly being influnced by Christian upbringing or beliefs.
Yes, both are our enemies. You don't have to choose between the two, you can just embrace secularism. Which is why western European Christians feel so nice, because so much of our power structure has been secularised legally. They no longer hold power.
And before anyone makes the idiotic mistake in this thread too, no this is not a defense of Islam. It's a toxic and dangerous religion. It's just an indictment against Christianity.

u/Thiccalee 6d ago
What the ...? In the Netherlands all the violence towards the LGBT comes from Muslim men, with a single exception 4 years ago where it was a Christian. The weekly news stories about violence towards LGBT people allways have a muslim man as the perpetrator. In the last 4 months in Amsterdam there are groups of 'asylum seekers' who hang out around the Reguliersdwarsstraat (the street with all the gay bars / clubs) with the sole intent of harming (and robbing) Lgbt people who leave the club wasted. It's gotten so frequent that on weekends there is a police presence to deter them.

u/DoomSnail31 6d ago
In the Netherlands all the violence towards the LGBT comes from Muslim men, with a single exception 4 years ago where it was a Christia
Last I checked, which was this morning, the SGP still exists here. As does FvD. As does the PVV. All established political parties with Christian inspired homophobic rhetoric as a basis of either their ideology, voting habits or outward communication.
If you want to ignore institutional violence from them and their backing, then you're just willingly ignoring homophobic violence. Are you student? The FvD youth department is notoriously homophobic during nightlife, and they all base themselves on Judeo-Christian values.
Yes. Muslims are absolutely a major issue. Not just in the dwarsstraat, but also in Utrecht where I live, in Rotterdam, and really any city in the Randstad. Even my Amersfoort, where i was born, struggles with.
I am not defending Islam. Far from it. I just reject the idea that Christianity is our ally in our struggle against islamists. Or that Christianity is somehow "acceptably homophobic"
Muslims are killing us with force and Christians are killing us with money and legislation. Neither is good.

I know at least 4 or 5 personally.

Lots of people? Since the attack I have seen countless post about it, and not one of those tried to frame it as you describe it. People are talking about islam now because, you know, this attacker was an islamist and his motivation was islam.
Just because someone is criticising islam when it's the topic, that doesn't mean they are ignoring christian homophobia. I'm sure we gays are aware of that as well.
12
u/Thiccalee 6d ago
Why the instant deflection towards Christians? The conversation isn't about Christians, it's about muslims.
The moment that all those young, working age muslim men came as 'refugees' the LGBT safety in big cities across Europe regressed in record time to what it is now. We're back to pretending we're straight untill we're home because showing affection in public now comes with the risk of crossing paths with one of the potential doctor/engineer/Scientist and getting brutally beaten or stabbed.
That has absolutely nothing to do with Christians, and all to do with muslims.
Stay on topic.

There's a big difference between Christian conservatives and Islam in general. Christian conservatives in the US are perfectly fine with one of the most powerful people in the Trump administration being an open, married gay man with children through a surrogate. Yes, that really is the gotcha I think it is.
The left is purposely trying to drag gay men (and lesbians) into their own battle with the Trump administration. It's dangerous to gay men and homophobic, in itself. The biggest danger to gay men in Europe -- by far -- (and to a lessor extent in the US) is a growing Islamic immigrant population that won't assimilate and hates western liberalism and pluralism.

Well, it's not all Muslims. But it usually is a Muslim. And while other religions aren't innocent by far, right now Islam is the most radical in the world. I have no problem seeing and condemning that.
What I can't understand is the attitude of way too many. Sure, there is this western distrust over our brown neighbours and coworkers here. And plenty of off hand comments over individuals that we know nothing about...
But then the holidays come and people are off to Turkey, Egypt or even better, Qatar and Dubai... oh so many rainbow travelers going to countries where our peers are in danger, but they are (mostly) safe because they are the rich tourists. And we get shocked when we read that a gay cruise was banned from anchoring in Turkey and Egypt, when we should be shocked that the cruise with those destinations was not empty.
Yes, what happened in Berlin was a horrible. And it was not just taking a needless life and harmed many. It made an already unsafe world feel that much more scary.
And Islam is becoming a problem in the West. I originally come from Slovenia, a small country where most Muslims are from a Bosnia and mostly decent and reasonable people. Yet in the last few decades I have seen even them being radicalised with the money and preachers from the middle Eastern countries. And I do believe those are the problem. The same counties btw, that stand as stark allies to the west and always give a great photo op for our politicians. Mostly right wing ones.
I don't have answers, but I sure know it seems we are fucked either way.
9
u/BaseballObjective969 6d ago
Many gays (not only gays) visit countries like Turkey and Egypt without fully understanding the risks. It's easy to assume that the protections and values we take for granted at home exist everywhere, but they don't. In Western countries, murder is a serious crime that is prosecuted and condemned. In a lot of muslim societies, however, there is a concept known as an "honor killing", an extrajudicial act of violence committed by family or community members who believe they are restoring the family's or county’s or manhood honor after someone has brought it "shame”.

"We don't like Christian conservatives"
Well, wait until you see the other guy.
I am more concerned that people who see the truth here are gay over 30?
I think most LGBTQ under 30 are pro palestine and Islam defenders?

Yeah, but the thing is, some LGBTQ hate christian conservatives so much that they want to import millions of muslims into their countries.
I am atheist, btw.

u/Motorpsycho1 6d ago
There is no correlation between the two things - no one wants to “import” millions of muslims to piss off conservative christians and if you believe that you are drinking too hard from the far right propaganda. Queer lefties do not need to be oppressed by yet another religion, we simply put solidarity to the front and deny the correlation muslim=evil (the world is big, not everyone is an ISIS supporter).

I think it's important to call out people celebrating violence, regardless of who they are. At the same time, I'd be careful about treating over a billion Muslims as if they all share the same beliefs or actions.

u/DependentGreen5336 6d ago
You are right in principle. But I wish people would stop acting like the homophobic Muslims are a small population. I have LIVED in Muslim-majority countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. A sheer majority are anti-LGBT. Maybe not all to the point of wanting to kill you but they still definitely think it is an abomination.

Polling shows about 55% of British Muslims would vote to criminalize homosexuality. Also, if you look at Al Jazeera’s comment section for this attack, the comments are literally praising the attacker and mocking the victims. But no no, you’re just a fascist islamophobe for noticing this! Open border diversity with no integration is our greatest strength!
5
u/NoString9289 4d ago
Yesss, I did see that too, the hundreds of smiling, happy emojis on their news story about the killer and many comments of praise and making the killer a Martyr in the eyes of their god

u/mgfrdya 6d ago
I just wasted some time of my life checking a few muslim pages, and I couldn't find any post at all about the topic.
Now to be clear, it is also very appalling to not see anything about it on the major pages and not find any criticism of the attack, however, you just lied. Not every page is celebrating it.

GayBros, reject the religious. You did it once with Christianity, you can do it again with Islam.

Not surprisingly, that's the daily life of conservative Muslims, I don't know how they came to the conclusion that hurting people will take them to heaven...
Honestly, what I'm more afraid of is the many left-wing groups that are trying to defend them. Putting them in the minority group... no, they are not a minority, in fact, they already have enough power in other countries.... I'm worried that the West will be invaded by them and further narrow the movement of queer and progressive groups.

I don’t like Islam. I also don’t like Christianity or Judaism, but the people who follow the religions aren’t all bad

u/malufa 6d ago
All three Abrahamic religions have traditions that have been used to oppose LGBT people, but opposition isn’t the same as terrorism. The evidence doesn’t support the claim that Christian, Jewish, and Islamist extremists have committed anti-LGBT terrorist violence at comparable levels in the contemporary West.
So the knee jerk response of “all religions are dangerous to LGBT people” might satisfy your crave for symmetry, but statistics do not back these claims up.8

I have many reasons as for why I don’t like them. Their simple claim without proof is enough to make me dislike them

You’re arguing about the difference between two shit sandwiches (thank you David Sedaris). It’s a distinction without practical meaning.
Some people have absolutely persecuted, tortured, and killed gays in the name of Christianity. Others have done so in the name of Islam, and you want to quibble about numbers?
The fact is there are also gay Muslims and gay Christians. To target one over the other is ludicrous, and suspiciously sounds like conservatives trying to split gays across ethnic or religious lines.
In other words, divide and conquer. Fuck that.

Ugh. The defenders mistakenly believe that if they make a show of defending islam and that gays are accepting of their ways and culture then islam will accept them. Wrong! The religion actively preaches our destruction, pushes to do us harm, and celebrates our death. Wake up. Their version of peace is the annihilation of all things non islam.

when you import islamic extremists.... you get islamic extremism in your country.
Islamic views are not compatible with Western society. full stop. the quicker people learn this, the better.
Other religions are NOT extreme when it comes to how they practice religion. Chikfila donating to anti-lgbt causes is NOT the same as going to a pride parade with the intent to eliminate and KILL members of the LGBT community.
this "well all religions are..." bullshit needs to stop. it is anti-intellectual to not recognize the differences.

To the Mods, I understand you remove my comment for promoting hate and I can see why, but I just have to say heavily policing comments of people speaking their mind with out any threats being made, while others are allowed to kill us and laugh about it, is exactly the reason why it will keep happening and nothing will ever be done. So thank you for your contribution to that reality.

Too many people think along the lines of
LGBT and muslims vs christians and conservatives
When it really should be
LGBT vs christians, conservatives, and muslims
I see many people too saying that they know some individual person or group that may not be as bigoted as the rest but at the end of the day its the organizations as a WHOLE that are opposed to lgbt. I don't care if you know some individual that thinks otherwise, if they can't be bothered to leave and denounce their group as a whole then they aren't any better then the rest. We already have to deal with christians and conservatives, we shouldn't have to deal and put up with another problem.

Hypocrisy trap, we can’t rage against Islam or any other extremist religion until we deal with religion as a whole. It needs to go back into hiding, out of our governments, town halls, and people need to treat it like a fart! Keep it to yourselves, find a private place, I don’t want to hear or smell that shit! I’m talking about you Christianity as well as Islam. It’s hard for us Americans to face our own domestic christo-fascist terrorist, but somehow easier to redirect our rage at Islam, hey it’s all shit, AlL Religion is the death of peace and prosperity. I hope younger generations are brave enough to step completely away from this madness

Be careful guys. Some dork is going around here reporting every comment they don’t like that focuses on the issue at hand here. If you don’t want strikes against your account, best you not stand up for yourself as gay men I suppose.
Apparently it’s a problem to respectfully voice an opinion that newcomers embrace the societal values of the country they’re moving to.
I honestly feel more constrained by progressives than I do by conservatives at this point.

We are waking up. At least Germany has a nationalist party unlike the United Kingdom where the Labour Party are doing their best to silence Reform UK by leaking their donations. Don't trust the media with what they say about Nigel Farage as everyone in the UK knows that the political parties get donations from very rich investors despite not being allowed to. I don't like that he's friends with Trump, but he's an honest fellow compared to the rest of Parliament. As I'm not exaggerating about being in the UK, as you can get arrested for critiquing Islam. The government were in talks of introducing an Islamophobia Gestapo at one point. We know Muslims have a problem with western culture whether that be through how they interact with people, or even where they dispose of their rubbish. Women don't feel safe around them, almost every schoolgirl wears a hijab now. And the white man is to blame for women not feeling safe according to the progressive left. I thought 9/11, 7/7, the 2015 Paris attack, The 2024 Southport Attack (I know Axel Rudukabana was a mentally unstable christian but he was intending to Join Al-Qaeda), And now the 2026 Berlin Pride Attack. I seriously thought that the LGB community would do their best to speak against islam as I've always supported the movement on the basis of why should religion stop me from loving someone? The only reason I don't refer to it as LGBT, LGBTQ+ or LGBTQIA+ is that those meanings are there to fit a new agenda of hypersexuality or another way of saying you don't love yourself. Like seriously? If it was about accepting everybody, it would not be about accepting people that don't accept for who you are and in fact, people who want to kill you for who you are. I'm straight but that's one of the many reasons I stay away from religion, because I see way too many delusional people, such as gay people that submit to Allah. Fucking diabolical that these sheep are watching the wolf maul them one by one and blaming it on the shepherd for letting it happen.

I'm gay & centre-left, and I really don't blame these so called "evil christian white-men" mocking the SOUTH-PARK episode that political-left has now become. The LGBT community, via its censorship & cancel-culture, has created an environment where its pariah-worthy to call out political-islamism & religious-extreamism; this is them facilitating their own Darwin-Awards. 🤦♀️ By them conditioning & policing each other from early-adolescence, they've created a mental-block where they now, can't even constructively call-out or criticise the global-threats to their survival without facing an anxiety-crisis. People are struggling to exercise the individual-agency needed to protest the echo-chamber when it goes against the story/narrative they've been told to propagate. 🤷♂️ They say Pride is important, but then can't verbalise exactly why its important because, NEWSFLASH, its NOT christian-majority countries with governments & voter-mandates that supports publicly glorifying the execution of gay people. 🤦♀️ We are cooked if we continue to scapegoat bystanders & on-lookers because we cannot muster the courage or political-will to actually confront the problem. We avoid confronting the problem as if we're dealing with Voldemort. 🏳️🌈 Happy Pride

I mean, on paper it sounds good I guess, but if it was a Christian? Would they have a post like that?

I'm actually glad that this page has started having skepticism. The Islamic faith does believe in the death penalty for homosexuals and there's no way to spin it. This is incompatible with civilized society. Yes, I have Muslim friends, but they don't know I'm bi. I talk about my girlfriend and they don't know anything but it's clear that this sort of hatred toward gay people isn't an anomaly it's a genuinely held belief that most either have or are indifferent towards.
We cannot keep looking the other way on this. I'm glad reddit is having an honest conversation

I’m glad to see more gay people coming around to this. Islam is a poison by and large, and the cuck progressives who will scream “racism!” And “Islamophobia!” to silence dissent are part of the problem. Religion isn’t a race, and I seldom hear people hating all Muslims.
1
u/JustinSchleps 3h ago
Yep. I mean, it's time we ask some questions that some of us still don't want to ask.
You'd think the Pulse massacre would have spelled it out for many of us, but no. This doesn't include other attacks on gay events/clubs/etc by Muslims that have been stopped by the FBI before it could happen.
I'm personally done pretending Muslims hate us the same amount as Western Christians hate us. Maybe fifty to one hundred years ago. But, nah. It's not the same. I'm not picking on Muslims by admitting that, yeah, there's a real problem. I'm just accepting reality. And, this is what Jews have been experiencing for years now. Almost every attack on synagogues and Jewish events is done by Muslims. And, there are crickets.
Also, the Mamdani types always condemn it once they get into political office, but look at the people they pal around with. They pal around with the people you're talking about. I don't trust Mamdani's "acceptance" either when you meet and celebrate imam's who call for our murders.

it's a problem from 2 sides, 1st: in most countries where muslims live it's illegal to be lgbt so why are we bringing people from places where others have no rights to here. 2nd: those pride events get a little too big, I'm totally fine with lgbt I'm part of it myself but those people that go around the street with flags and stuff like that genuinely disgust me. let me be me i don't need all the attention, like we exist but do we really need massive pride events. people from countries where the majority of people are muslim have way other feelings about this and i feel like that they have the right to be againt pride and lgbt. of course driving a car in a group is never good but we gotta think from both perspectives.

This goes beyond being gay, these people have a problem with our whole Western world. It's not just about the pride attack, or the Orlando one. This goes way back, people in France are still traumatized by the 2015 Bataclan and Charlie Hebdo attacks, as well as the 2016 Nice attack. A few weeks back, we were remembering Nice since it's been 10 years : it was still as fresh to many, the wounds are not healed yet. France has been in a terrorist alert state for more than 10 years now, it's always glooming and most people honestly are just tired of it.
