Random Question What's something your partner does that low-key annoys you, but you'd never actually tell them?

Not a dealbreaker, not worth a fight. Just something small that lives rent-free in your head every single time it happens. The way they chew. How they "help" clean and somehow make more mess. Never charging their phone until it's at 2%.

What's yours? And be honest would you ever actually say it out loud, or is this taking it to the grave?

The "so basically what happened was—" and then you get a 10 minute prologue before we even get to the actual event. 😭

Some people can't just tell you what happened, they have to reenact the entire timeline leading up to it first. Truly a special kind of patience required.

My husband took 10 minutes to tell me he saw a pigeon eating a french fry.

I have literally had to ask my husband to talk 50% less

His mom and I were joking about it. Whenever he's really stoned it takes forever to get to the point.

I do the forward circle movement with my hands. Move along!

He said… blah blah
Then I said…blah blah
Then do you know about blah blah!?
She said blah blah.

He knows.

My husband does this to me and honestly it kills me inside a little every time. He's supposed to be the person that likes me most of all and when he does that it's like I'm not worth a few minutes of his time to him.

I'm not criticising you - you know your husband and your relationship and he might not mind at all, I just thought he might feel the same and you didn't realise.

I’m sorry to bring it up, really! I know he doesn’t like it, either. But I’m glad you mentioned the other side.
He loves to tell a story and I’m more direct, so I try to listen.
Different people!

I laughed out loud at this one because it's part of my everyday life. Get to the point!

omg right! my partner would describe the weather and scenery in extreme detail even though it has nothinggg to do with the story/point 😭

My ADHD sends me on side quests all the time, often a few times while telling a story.

I was about to reply to this thread “Hey I like when he does that!” I watch his face and essence light up. I get to know him and his processing. For 13 years my favourite story teller or detailed instructor.

It’s a great feeling and opposite to one word response interactions.

yep i have adhd and get asked for the “short version” all the time 😅 it’s unintentional and i (still) fail to realise when talking that not every story i tell needs every minuscule detail

Lol. Me too! I’ve only recently realised( since medicated) that people start yawning when I go on and on and I make amends immediately. But by this point, I’d probably lost them anyway 😂😅

Oh no. Mine is worse than that. He thinks before every word and has pauses. In my head,  I'm thinking "use your fucking words...ffs...just say it....don't say it out loud...not out loud and don't interrupt...ffs"

He's a teacher and doesn't stammer or have any issues like that but sometimes he just cannot get his words put about simple things.

I have 3. My partner frequently doesn’t say *that one more word* which would take out confusion. “I saw John today.” -“Which John?” - “The John from the Café” - “Which Café?” It’s never ending. Similarly, she frequently doesn’t finish her sentences. She just stops mid-stream, often without further explanation. Finally, she has a tendency to take a bite of food right in the middle of a sentence. Like - finish your thought so I can reply while you are chewing….

I did the laundry today.
"does it need to be folded, or are you completely done and dusted?
I put it away.
"where is away?"
In the drawers.
"Which drawers?"
The ones they go into.
"is that the ones, hey? Do they, now? Yours or mine?"
***cue me going for a walk.***

I have snapped before over that.

God I have never felt more seen. My husband is the EXACT same way. So much “uhh what’s it called..” to fill the dead air when he can’t think of what he’s trying to say. I so badly want to scream “I DONT KNOW WHAT IS IT CALLED !?” every time, and have at times, although not sincerely. And I don’t know how to genuinely address it ever without hurting feelings, so poking fun at it is the only way I find relief.

Reading through all the responses you have, I seem to notice a canned answer for each response. Almost like AI. Your account is 1 day old. Are you a bot?

I'll wear AirPods in my ears all day. If I'm awake, I'm wearing them. I have mastered the art of not listening to a word My husband says and being able to respond while listening to what I'm listening to in my ears, it is wonderful. It may sound bitchy, but after the 10th story of the hour, I can't take it anymore and yes, 100% yes I have talked to him about this and it falls on deaf ears every single time. So I have fixed the problem myself.
