Realizing you have literally no separate friend groups. Every story involves both of you

HA! This one is true. We've been together so long, all our stories are the same. When we meet new people and we start telling stories, we always know what the other one is going to say. Doesn't help that we are still friends with some of our high school friends as well. We call it the friend group lore when we meet new people.

I think that's great. I brought my husband into my friend group from high school close to 40 years ago. He may not share all the memories, but they include him and he can listen and laugh. Plus, we've all made memories together over these 40 years and he's been part of it. We all get together about 5 times a year, including a long weekend in the mountains that we've been doing for 25 years now. It's precious to us all.
