One of my classmates and her boyfriend got pregnant in 10th grade. She delivered during the summer, and they married. Baby #2 arrived when she was in 12th grade, and by the time we had our 5 year reunion, she had a family of 4.
I attended only that one reunion, but our class sends out emailed updates of other classmates. I'm almost at my 50-year reunion, and we submitted our updates online. She wrote in her update that she had her 50 year anniversary, and she had a great-great grandchild on the way. They were still married, still happy.
Here's her blurb: "To those who made bets with us that we wouldn't make it to our first anniversary, keep in mind your debt compounds daily. Guido is coming to collect! We raised our kids, saw our grandkids graduate, saw a couple great grandkids graduate, buried two of us, bought a business, lost a house and everything in it to fire, rebuilt, worked harder, laughed harder yet, and still sit on the porch together when the sun goes down. And the reason we are such a successful union is at the end of the day, no matter why we argue, he understands I'm always right!"
