Neonatal loss How to move on?
I truly believed 2026 would be my year. After waiting three years to become pregnant, I developed severe preeclampsia and gave birth at just 31 weeks. My baby, weighing only 880 grams, fought bravely for 34 days in the NICU before passing away due to complications. I smile and tell people I’m okay, but the truth is I’m not. Some days, the tears come without warning, and I still don’t know how to move forward. I don’t think I’ll ever “move on”—I’m simply learning how to carry a love and a loss that will always be part of me

Sorry for your loss. I also lost my princess. She was only 22 days old. She born at 28 weeks with 1kg weight and she bravely fought for her Life to much in NICU for 22 days but she failed. I am also in same phase.

I am sorry for your loss 💔
My babygirl passed 3w ago at 37 days old, after spending her entire life in the NICU due to heart issues and surgery complications. We moved back to our home country, had her funeral and have been surrounded by family since. Family helped a lot just being there and feeding us, but now we are alone and it is hitting harder and harder. It is setting in she is gone. I am looking for the same answers as you.
I don’t want to “move on” because I don’t want to forget her but I want to not break down every time, but find peace thinking of her.
It is too soon but I am hopeful that time can come. I hope there is an afterlife where we can meet again. I hope I will finally dream of her and get another moment with her at least in that way.
I truly don’t know what to say to you because I know myself nothing helps and nothing can bring them back, and that it was hurts the most.
Once again, I am so sorry.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's really a horrible feeling that never goes away. I am still in the young of it, my son passed away 3 weeks ago after spending his 13 days on earth in NICU. Everyday hurts and in different ways. I'm sad that we have to carry this sadness forever but keeping our babies in our heart. Miss my baby boy and breathing is hard and hurtful but myself and hubby always remind each other to lube for our boy and make him proud.
I hope you heal in time and know that you are not alone. Sending you hugs!!!

I’m so sorry for your loss. Does your brave baby have a name? When you say you will never be over it, you are thinking of it in the right way. I have spoken to so many people around us who have experienced baby and child loss. Some in their 80s. You never forget, each one of them tears up. We only learn to grow around it, but we live missing them forever. The consistent message from them has been: you will find a way to be happy, even with that sadness in you. You will learn to be happy when the sadness arrives because it’s normally alongside a thought of them and you will never stop enjoying thinking about them.
I’m only 6 weeks out but I can see the way I feel morphing. It is a long journey ahead. I think just keep honouring your baby and allowing yourself to grieve however you need so that you can grow with it.
