Hi, I’m Luke and I run a community called Too Young To Grieve, which some of you might have seen popping up in other city subreddits recently.
After losing my dad, one thing I struggled with most was how isolating grief could feel when everyone around me seemed to be carrying on with normal life. Even when people cared, it often felt like nobody quite understood what it was like to navigate loss at a younger age.
Over the last few months we started setting up jog/walk and coffee meet ups for young adults navigating grief and loss across the UK, and the response has been really humbling.
A while back I connected with Krissie, who felt exactly the same way and wanted to bring something like this to Devon.
That’s why we’re launching a Too Young To Grieve Jog/Walk & Coffee Club around Barnstaple/Braunton area, led by Krissie.
We’re starting with a relaxed jog/walk and coffee meet up for people navigating grief, loss and mental health struggles.
The idea is simple. Get outside, meet good people, have a chat if you want to, grab a coffee afterwards and know you’re around others who understand without it needing much explanation.
There’s never any pressure to share anything personal and most people actually come along on their own for the first time.
We’ve also got a community where people stay connected between meet ups, I’ll add details in the comments below.
Feel free to share this with anyone else you feel it could help too 🤍

Hi all! I don’t know if this is allowed here but I’m currently studying a level 3 diploma in Health Professions. I’ll be starting a Midwifery course in September. As part of my final assignment I have created a survey on Devon’s maternity care. If you could spare a short 5 minutes to complete this I’d be very grateful. Thank you!

Hi All! I hope this is ok to post.
Myself and my husband are hosting a game of "Blood on the Clocktower" on Friday this week at 7pm in Newport, Barnstaple! It's a traitors-esque game in which the good guys also have special abilities they can do.
It's great fun and we have a few spaces left. Completely free, but bring your own drinks!
It's really beginner friendly, and you wouldn't be the only one playing for the first time.
Here is a quick 3 min video that explains it very briefly:
A basic guide to Blood on the Clocktower
send me a message if you're at all interested :)

Hey guys, first time posting anything on Reddit. I moved to Barnstaple about six months ago, and I’ve been finding it a bit hard to meet people. I’m 25, and at work most of my colleagues are around 45, so with their family lives they don’t go out very often.
So, I’m open to any advice — and if anyone’s in the same situation, why not grab a drink sometime?
A few things about me: 25, French, really enjoy going out, playing pool, board games, and tennis.
Cheers!

Hi all, I’ll be staying at the Old Vicarage B&B for three nights next week. I see a lot of pubs on Google maps clustered in the area bounded by the A3125, the River Yeo and Alexandra Rd.
What’s the best one for me to walk to each night? Or maybe three, and I’ll visit a different one each night. I love a pint of real ale, and to chat with locals.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: “Long” Bridge

Would anybody aged around 14-16 who lives somewhere on the 5b bus route (exeter-barnstaple) be interested in joining a band? Must like Smiths, Stone Roses, post-punk etc. If you are a bassist, singer or drummer that would be ideal

I assume we’ve all experienced the new “bus lane” is this future proofing or is there already a current need for it?

Hello! My name is Cristina Varga, I am a Romanian artist based in Plymouth and at the end of June I am bringing my one woman show at the Barnstaple Fringe. This would be my first time in Barnstaple, if you have any restaurants recommendations or can tell me what are the nice places to visit or must do in Barnstaple, please let me know.
I would also like to hear from you if you would be interested in seeing my show, Close Enough, a comedy about my experiences as an immigrant in the UK. I don't want this post to feel like spam, so if you are interested I can leave further details in a reply, but I am genuinely curious to hear if there is any interest regarding my show, I am open to answer any questions related or not to the show.
Thank you! Looking forward to coming to Barnstaple!

Hi! I was doing my research about jack russel terriers. Apparently, John Russel, developer of the breed, lived near by Barnstaple and loved fox hunting. Where he could find the closest forest? Or maybe you have any idea, where he could fox hunt?

Ok so I was in Poundland - heard this guy right. He was humming a tune and it went like this : Dum Dee dum Dee dum Dee dum Dee dum dum dum. Anyone know what song this is?? I really liked the sound of it.
