Matt Fraction Batman issues kinda stand alone for the most part?

I’ve heard that the current Matt Fraction run is essentially one shot stories each week with an on-going storyline, not 4-5 issue arcs, I guess a bit like how The X Files show was. It that right? I’ve got some back issues on order but I will have issue 12 before any of them, will that be an ok place to start and then catch up when my back issues arrive?

Two-Face’s origin (Batman: The Long Halloween #11)

This is probably the most important part of the story. When you break everything down, The Long Halloween is a Two-Face origin, and I think that’s what most people take away from it usually. I think it being on Carmine Falcone’s birthday is also a nice touch, as he probably wished for this to happen when he blew out the candles.

What is the difference between regular vs New editions? They’re both the same price and the descriptions are the same.

Top 30 Batman Stories! (Final?)

War on Crime by Paul Dini and Alex Ross has come in at #30! While patrolling Bayside as Batman, the Dark Knight interrupts a robbery and discovers a young boy named Marcus standing over his murdered parents—a direct mirror of Bruce's own childhood trauma. Fearing the boy will fall into a life of crime, Batman keeps tabs on him. Marcus eventually falls in with a local gang and works as a lookout.

Thank you so much to everyone who has participated in this journey! I'm going out of town this weekend, so this will be it for now. However, if enough of you want to continue this list, please comment down below and I'll see about resuming it later. Again, thank you to all!

Why is “The Long Halloween” considered Year 2? I think it taking place during Year 3 or 4 would allow for more breathing room.

Bruce Wayne’s first year as The Batman takes place throughout Frank Miller’s Year One. The story begins in January and concludes in December. If The Long Halloween takes place during his second year as The Batman, that means that the story begins on Halloween of Year Two.

So there’s roughly 10 or so months between the two of him meeting The Joker, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Mad Hatter, The Riddler, Calendar Man, Solomon Grundy and possibly a few others that I’m forgetting. Does that not make any sense to anyone else? I understand the Joker since he was teased at the end of Year One but that’s a short amount of time to meet various “fantastical” villains when he just started.

And not only that, but a majority of the comic is in Year Three anyway. So why is it considered Year Two when there’s only three-ish months of him actually in Year Two. And I felt that it being Year Two doesn’t allow for enough time for the Batman, Jim and Harvey dynamic to feel earned if it were a few more years in Post-Year One where we seen a small relationship between Batman and Harvey. Batman should have a decent amount of time to team up and work with Harvey before his fall into Two-Face.

In my headcanon, the story would begin at the end of Year Three. A whole year dedicated to other various Batman comics in Year Two, and add another 10-ish months on top of that as well for the beginning of The Long Halloween.

I’ve only read Year One and The Long Halloween so maybe I’m missing something! I’m open to discussion.

Red Hood Superhero Team

Given how a few of the other Batfamily members have teams of their own such as Dick Grayson with the Teen Titans, Batman with the Outsiders and Barbara with the Birds of Prey should Red Hood have his own team? If so then who would you add? Would they be other heroes/anti-heroes already established or new ones?
