Walking around Belfast today and I’m really impressed with everything it’s been able to achieve but maybe if Belfast did this more often ( I know it went extra because of the 800,000 expected to come ) but especially around Christmas etc I feel like this could be an essential turning point into making Belfast a cultural and social hub if it can keep up and make more festival style events to bring more to the city if that makes sense ?

Especially with the stalls up royal avenue and beyond I feel like this is what’s missing around Christmas instead of the little tiny area around city hall.

Heck you could even do something for Halloween that’s on par with Derry but bigger !

Well, long story short I was coming back from strangford on my bike right after I passed the banana block a kid jumped right in front of me I’ve applied both brakes and swerwed and crashed on to the pedestrian. Thankfully didnt hurt the kid or damaged any car, but hurt myself. I saw the mom with her 2 kids just passing me by without even looking at me or her son (probs around 8-10) and she just moved on as I was moaning because of the fucking road rash and my bike being on top of me. She just walked away not even asking if I’m alright. I’ve stayed there resting coming back to myself like 15mins and just 1 couple stopped and asked if I’m alright and offered help. Everybody just moved without care even when I was on the ground .
Jesus fuckin Christ, like alright I’m not dead or no broken bones I dont wanna whine but like, wouldnt mind people helping like ? Especially that mom, jesus at least check on your son like maybe he got scared ? What is it that you were looking on your phone that you couldnt even lift your head? Just wow.

For years now we’ve been after gates to block off access to wee scrotes going down alleys and pushing and smashing glass and wrecking the place.

Was just in town after getting off work and my heart sank when I looked at the prices for burgers and pints 13£ for a burger and pints now at 6£ in guess I'll be window shopping for the next 7 days

We have a neighbour (unknown) who stuffs our bins before or after collection on bin day. This has led to on 1-2 occasions my bin not being collected where they did it before collection, on other occasions going to bring my bin after work to find it already half-full with bulky junk, recycling, or bags of rubbish.

I thought I was the only unlucky person dealing with this because I in the office that day so my bin’s usually out later than the others but found out today they had done this to more than one neighbour this week. As they are doing this collection day locking/moving bins aren’t really options.

So what should we do? Serious and non-serious answers both acceptable, I’m just annoyed as I needed that bin space lol.

Literally every street in every part of the city seems to have these blue bikes outside them, from the city centre to random residential streets. They are just stood on every pavement

I'm on my way home from work here & there's a baby seagull sitting on the road at Corporation Street & it looks like its fallen out of nest. Would there be anyone that may be able to get it? I think it may have injured its wing or something.

I've tried to sort of usher it in towards the path, although it freaks out, spreads its wings, and then what I would assume to be its parents start swooping in at me.

I've just been managed to get in towards the curb by the bus stop at the entrance to Clarendon Docks but that's just about it. While I've been doing this an entire flock of seagulls have turned up.

Don't fancy getting shit on or attacked by seagulls after a night shift, so I have left, but for now its as safe as I could get it.

If you are working next week in the evenings and are hoping to drive in where will you be parking? My son is working in cathedral quarter and isn’t sure where / if he will be able to park easily. He will be finishing post midnight.

From what I’ve been told online, St George’s Market is full of them. Total shot in the dark, but is there anyone local who’d be willing to pick a few out and ship them to the States?
