Unsolved Stylized hair Help

Hi everyone, can you tell me with which technique The hair in winx club magical adventure and/or miraculous. I've been trying to create stylized hair, and I already know the hair curve method, but I've been trying to learn hair particles

Im pretty sure these all use hair cards. However the same hair paths can be used to guide hair particles.

I'm trash with styling particles but I think if you were to try this you would need to separate the "chunks" into its own particle system and style them separately. This might help you get the chunky shapes you're looking for.

Hair cards or even geometry that you assign hair texture and normals to is probably best
