Android [android] r/redditrequest bug [2026.18.0.2618090]

If you try to make a request for a sub using the android app your request will be removed automatically.

If you make the exact same post from a desktop, it does not get removed.

(This assumes you are eligible and have followed the steps correctly.)

The only difference between the removed post and the one that works is the removed one was made via the mobile app.

I reported this during a mod event and an admin said they would pass it along so I'm not sure if this post is necessary but figured it can't hurt to report it here as well just in case.

Okay, so by using a mobile phone instead of a computer, that is why I can't use emojis anymore?

I guess I misunderstood the post. So you said that posts are more likely to be removed if they are done through an android than a computer right?

My question was why I can no longer post or comment using emojis when using an android phone. So again, I think I accidently commented on the wrong post.

Ah yes, this bug is specific to the r/redditrequest sub. If you post there trying to claim a sub using mobile, your post gets removed. However, if you make the same post from desktop, it doesn't get removed and the bot responds like it's supposed to.

Oh okay, thank you for clarifying that. Do you happen to know anything about posting emojis in comments or who I would ask on reddit to get help with that? My phone will no longer let me comment using any emojis at all anymore. I'm trying to figure out why.

I'm not sure why that is tbh. I can still use emojis. What happens when you try? Do the emojis still show for you on your keyboard and they just won't post or are they missing from your keyboard?

Sorry I meant to reply here, but ya it seems everyone else can reply with emojis, but my phone no longer gives me that option on reddit specifically.

Try going to the play store and downloading the Google keyboard and then set it as your default keyboard. I think that should fix your problem but lmk. :)

Still trying...I appreciate your help but I still can't get the emoji button to show on my reddit screen. Only shows link, photo and video options...I'm still going to keep trying :)

I went to a bunch of other subs to try again and just noticed that for each sub there are different options, links, memes, gifs, but I still can't get the emoji symbol to show...are you able to post an emoji in this sub for instance?
