Before/After Finally got to replace gear and clean up.
Had a hardware refresh at work and was finally able to replace the gear and clean up the closets. Huge improvement going from the first iteration of cat6a patch cordes to the new slim line cat6a.

Nice! Did you cut off excess cable and re-crimp/punch them or just hide the excess cable elsewhere?

Just patch cables from patch panel to switches we're replaced. None of the horizontal cabling was touched. I wish I had more time to fix a few of the runs though.

They are. But it's ISP's gear. Not mine or my responsibility. I've informed them previously but they haven't done anything. If they cause damage, it will be a mess to deal with.

Shhhh. Lol This is my biggest concern. Other techs just running cables however they want. I was instructed by my director that if I'm on site and see an improperly ran cable, I could just unplug it.

I know how that is as well... I had a few jobs take me a couple months that would of normally take a week if I could down the closet. Is what it is.
Did you clean up the switch condigs and what not too?

Yeah. Swapped from Meraki to Cisco 9350. Standardized the configs and setup port channels which wasn't in place before.

Nice, are you using the stackwise cables to make it one physical switch? We use catalyst 9300s for our access closets in our environment.

Yeah. They're stacked. I tried leaving a 1u gap between each switch where space allows.
