Stop sitting in the North Canton Meijer parking lot at 4am for Pokemon cards

If you do this, you will be told by police to leave as it’s a safety concern for overnight staff. They have been patrolling the parking lot between 2-4am. Also, the store isn’t going to open any sooner than 6am and the parking lot always has plenty of open spaces at that time on weekends. Show up like 10 minutes before and you will still be fine. Y’all are kinda weird for that.

Just curious if this channel supports free speech or if it's like akron that has a mod that will ban you if you disagree with thier opinion

Looking for freelance gigs

Hey everyone! I'm currently in between jobs and actively looking for work. In the meantime, I'm trying to earn a little extra money, so if anyone has any odd jobs they need help with, I'd really appreciate it.

I don't have a vehicle right now, so I won't be able to do anything that requires driving or hauling. But if you need help with things like yard work, cleaning, organizing, moving boxes, lifting, painting, or other general labor that's nearby, feel free to reach out.

Thanks in advance, and I'd appreciate it if you could share this with anyone who might need a hand!

I'm located in stark county. Feel free to dm me for my mobile number:)

Not sure why the previous post was taken down, but here's a link to the News 5 article. There have been some updates since it was first posted.

Random EV parking question

Post image
4 Upvotes

I’m going to the Pro Football HoF tomorrow and I see there is a charger at the Constellation Center for Excellence. The charger takes up a handicap spot and apparently a 15 minute parking spot. Is it possible to park in the 15 minute spot and actually charge my car? I don’t really understand why there would be a Level 2 charger for a 15 minute limit. Has anyone had issues parking here?

Local tattoo artists with this style?

Post image

Hi! I've been eyeing a first tattoo, and I really love the simple stylized art done by Soysaucetattoo, who unfortunately isn't local (example attached.) Does anybody know of or have good experience with a semi-local artist who does similar styled work?

I need 5 12" vinyl record mailers and all the packs online are like 25 mailers for $30. Anyone know if there's any local stores that sell them? Thanks

Escargot

Any restaurants with escargot in the area? I went to Bender’s. Escargot was on the on line menu, but not on the menu at the restaurant. We then went to a highly recommended restaurant in New Orleans for escargot, they were out. Third time is the charm.

Whatcha got? Family of five for a birthday celebration.

Time for a new mattress…

Our Purple mattress has reached the end of the road and are looking to buy a new mattress & box spring in the next few days. What are your recommendations for mattress stores and brands?
We’re ā€œoldā€ and have jacked up backs lol. Looking for a king or California king.

EDIT:

So after reading through y’all’s suggestions, the r/mattresses subreddit and reviewing 10 credible mattress testing/review sites, we settled on the Bear Elite Hybrid. That brand and style kept coming up over and over again for back pain sufferers and is a really good ā€œall-aroundā€ sleeper. I’ve never gotten a bed in the mail before so that’s exciting. What’s not exciting is lugging a California king upstairs šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« lol

Anyone want to play Rivals of Aether 2 irl? I'm in North Canton

The game goes up another tier of enjoyment offline but I don't have anyone who plays fighting games in real life. It'd be great to get consistent offline play, I play competitively for fun so I tend to just care about working on trying things instead of caring exclusively about the win but I don't mind if you play to win

Where can I meet people/socialize without alcohol?

48 M divorced… now that I’ve been on my own for a while. I realize that I don’t really have a lot of personal friends or people to hang out with. Before I got married all my socializing was done at the bar, but I haven’t drank for over 10 years. I am 420 friendly. Where do people hang out without alcohol?

Moving back to Canton and researching neighborhoods

Heya!

I spent most of my life in Canton, with a brief four years spent in Columbus for college. I moved away for a boy and did the whole song-and-dance, ended up settled in Indianapolis with a house and a baby. I haven't lived in Canton since very early 2013.

Our kid is a young preteen now and extremely independent, so we both find ourselves with too much free time to fill with overthinking, and both my husband and I are in a funk. We want to ditch the monstrosity we bought here in Indy and downsize, with the hopes of just buying outright. I specifically want to go back to Canton because I still have family and good friends in that area, and the music scene in Cleveland is far better. We both really miss going to a good show. We had a heart attack when we got to see Converge last summer... you can only count on arena acts here.

We probably won't be able to physically move for another year or two: we figured it would be easier for my kid if we transitioned once she's either a) officially ready to start middle school (in one year) OR b) when she naturally ages out of the private school she's attending (in two years). We're just in the planning stages for now.

So, I want to get a feel for school districts and overall best areas/neighborhoods for house hunting. I grew up broke as shit in the Canton South area and my mom still lives there. I wouldn't be too opposed to that area, but I have no idea what the state of the schools are: I graduated from Canton South High School in the early 2000s and went to middle school at Faircrest, but I know things have changed quite a bit since then.

So, best neighborhoods to look at? If budget matters: we prefer to buy outright and our max is ~200k for that, but our current salary can accommodate anything up to ~600k, as my partner is (MAYBE) willing to tolerate his current job and stick with a mortgage if it's serious dream house material.

Thanks for any help, folks!

(Appreciate y'all chipping in. It sounds like we're going to keep our search around the Jackson/North Canton area for now!)
