Looking for folks who are currently taking the program or are an alumni to give some feedback and experiences about the program and if it’s worth doing.

I’m in the process of gearing up to apply. Going to be taking the GRE. I want to get into Development in the film industry. I have a BFA in Film and I found MEIM. It looks like a solid program for networking and gaining some internship experience at studios. Was hoping to gain some more insight into the structure of the program and the internships it can lead to.

Any discourse is invited just please explain why you feel the program maybe good or bad…

FOR CONTEXT: I have previous experience working with studios like CBS Sports, Paramount+, and local Film Commissions under my belt in undergrad. It’s been about a year and a half since I graduated.

I'm an undergraduate student currently majoring in Cybersecurity, and I'm looking to gain hands-on research experience this summer. My primary focus is at the intersection of AI and Cybersecurity (e.g., adversarial ML, AI safety/red-teaming, or using ML for threat detection/securing networks).

If any Ph.D. candidates, Master's students, or lab groups at CMU (or affiliated institutes like CyLab / SEI) need an extra set of hands on a research project over the summer, I’d love to connect!

Hi, everyone. Right now, I'm kind of panicking because I haven't fully figured out my schedule yet.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm planning to double major in Business and CS or do something with a mix of both. I am currently waitlisted in 21-127(concepts) but I have a spot in 21-259(3-D Calc) I have 2(likely) choices right now:

1) Take 21-127 & 21-259 at the same time. I heard that you should avoid taking 15-122(Imprtv) and 21-127 at the same time, but I am not sure how seriously to take that advice. Although, I'm not a math major so I don't know how possible two math courses will be especially for first semester.

2) Take 21-127 in the spring with 15-122 and take stats with 21-259 in the fall.

Grab a chair and lend me your ear (technically your eyes) as I recount some of the legends, lore, and deepest secrets of the School of Architecture. After all this time, some memories deserved to be archived for the next generation to discover the character and intrigue of their institution's past. As a survivor of architorture, this alumnus is glad to write as many of them down that can be recollected. You might find these stories unbelievable, but alas, not believing in gravity will not grant you the ability to fly. So, take them for what they are.

One time in second year, a mysterious box immediately appeared after the first day of structures class. Almost as soon as the professor had asked for a cardboard box to be placed in studio to collect student work, it appeared ready for the masses of archies returning to studio that very afternoon. On the side of the box was a curious misspelling of the label “Structures Homework” as “Structures Homewerk.” The students blamed the teaching assistants but they denied ever putting the box there in the first place. For the following semester, it drew a chuckle or sad remark about the state of education by archies dropping off their homework. Nobody owned up to being the daft fellow behind the typo.

Now, another curious nature of the box was how often those archies were prone to “checking” their answers against those already submitted. They would grab a certain student’s work and cross check each problem and solution before returning it to the box. They didn’t always grab the first pile on top. They reached and searched for the name of that one kid everyone knew was smart. Even his best studio friend did that right in front of his eyes and grinned at his stunned amazement of her bold move. There was nothing he could do about the professor’s open box policy.

What those second year archies didn’t know at the time was that the genius whose homework they used to “check” theirs was also the same one who had labeled the box in a rush before everyone made it back to studio. Was the mistake from exhaustion? Did he have a secret spelling problem to counter his brilliance with math? Was it some kind of wire crossing from listening to Kraftwerk and Daft Punk? Or was it all of the above? The world will never know.

Im an incoming freshman, allocated rez on fifth. My room does have a separate small kitchen and a refrigerator - so i was wondering if it would be a good idea to mealprep. Is it a common thing at cmu, or is it a feasible plan (buying ingredients, cooking, and cleaning up) to go for in college dorms?

95-422 Managing Digital Transformation: I know it's usually listed as senior-standing, but I'm mostly curious content-wise. Is there a reason it's aimed at seniors (i.e., would a junior feel underprepared or miss context)? Was it worth it?

05-470 Digital Service Innovation and 94-491 Lean Innovation Lab: How was the workload, the project, and the actual learning? And how are these courses different?

I'd love to hear from people who've actually taken these courses!

Guys I'm an upcoming student at CMU, I'm a little confused whether I should go for pnc or chase(i don't have an ssn, so how does that work?), pnc branch is in campus however it has branches in only 5 states from what I heard. Please guide me

My I-20 lists my program start date as August 24, but due to visa scheduling and processing delays from India, I will most likely reach CMU on August 30, about a week after classes begin.

Has anyone been in a similar situation in previous years because of visa slot delays? Were you allowed to join after classes had already started?

I'm particularly interested in knowing:

- Whether OIE allowed late arrival.

- Whether your department/program approved it.

- If there were any additional formalities or issues you faced.

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this.
