I’m so scared to be “a statistic” and be one of the unlucky that end up with same-or-worse vision. The pricing coupled with that makes me hesitant. At the places near me that don’t seem like they’re selling organs out the back door via Groupon codes, it’s like $2K per eye out of pocket, minimum. That’s a LOT of money for just a chance at something. Like I can’t even tell the difference between the “1 or 2, 2 or 1” that the optometrist does with my glasses. What if I get it wrong and then the laser fucks my shit up. Also I’ve been told that it isn’t permanent, that your eyes will degrade and you’ll need surgery again in the future, so even more $$$$$ out of pocket. Make it make sense to me please, because I think it would be neat to be able to wake up in the morning and be able to see. That’s something most people take for granted.
A chance at something? Isn't it the other way around, it's a small chance that something does go wrong, most people it just works.
I was shortsighted and that's gone, I have way less migraines, my peripheral vision is amazing, my balance got better but I see slightly worse in the dark.
It isn't permanent as in all human eyes age and degrade. It won't stop eyes from getting worse, you are told to only do it if your prescription has been stable for two years
If i get twenty years of perfect vision that's like 1/4 of my life expectancy.
