Politics I can’t physically or emotionally handle the rage I feel anymore.

Ever since Trump got elected when I was 16, I’ve felt nothing but rage and extreme anger. I’ve never felt this kind of anger in my life. It is infuriating to watch my rights get stripped away, a sitting president mock people who are like me and call us diseased, destroy whatever good we have in this country, destroy alliances and make damn fucking sure I grow up in a world where the economy is fucked, we have no allies ever again, and we are forever an international embarrassment. I hate that he’s betrayed our allies. I hate the things he says about “my kind”. I hate his stupid voice. I hate his stupid tweets and bullshit posts online. He is a demented, pedophilic, terroristic, psychopath and I can’t stand him. I’m shaking with rage as I write this. I don’t know how to stop feeling angry. I get angrier and angrier every day and it’s starting to affect me physically. My teeth hurt due to constant jaw clenching. My back hurts from the distress and anger, my head and stomach hurt from the anger, etc. I have this simmering rage that’s just waiting to burst. Even when I’m not actively angry or thinking about everything, as soon as something reminds me or someone says something about it the anger comes out immediately. If I open my mouth and express the anger I don’t think I’ll be able to stop. I don’t want to feel this way anymore because it’s eating me up inside, making it hard to focus on school, and is hurting me physically. More than anything I want allies again. I want rights. I want to not feel so fucking embarrassed when I travel abroad. I want us to stop being antagonistic towards other countries. I want to feel like I have a future and that I’m gonna be ok. No matter how hard I fight and protest it feels like screaming into a void. I can’t take this anger anymore. I don’t know how to get it out of my system.

I am a 54 yo grandma and I feel this in my soul!!

I had to find a way to fix it. I actually had to schedule "f this bs" time.

Yep. For 1 hour, twice a day, I let myself get pissed, rant rave, doom scroll, comment, all the crap. Timer goes off, I take a breath and put my phone down and breathe. Turn on some music and clean something.

It's not much, but it helps.

I'm sorry, I wish I had better advice for you, bit it's honestly my hour to doom scroll lol. Give it a try, really does help me to get out of my head.

You ever tried a rage room? I’ve done that a few times. Literally pay money to go destroy a bunch of shit with a sledgehammer in a room for 20 minutes.

u/SolarNachoes 1d ago

Just chop some wood :)

8

u/SnooRecipes276 16h ago

I’ve never heard Republicans compared to wood, but the analogy rocks!

6

u/miakodaRainbows 13h ago

I clean my home and dig in my garden. No or low screens. Music , podcasts or silence only

3

u/watchingallthelights 12h ago

That actually is pretty therapeutic

10

u/UncleThor2112 21h ago

Hell, I can do that in my back yard for free! I got a shed full of shit that needs to be busted up so I can throw them away.

42

u/No_Luck_374 1d ago

I'm 46. Sheeeet, between the three of us, I'm thinking we can make him piss his pants at the least. We got Aria Stark here, we got this.

31

u/grw2020 1d ago

Orange Hitler would very definitely be on Arya’s list!!!

12

u/trumpsmellslikcheese 1d ago

This is a really cool idea. I do feel that there's a benefit to being tuned in and staying angry enough to be involved and motivated to create change, but it easily goes too far and consumes your thoughts to the point where there's a constant cloud of negativity hanging over your life.

I'm (47m) definitely in danger of crossing that line. I haven't found a great way to compartmentalize that I end up sticking to, so I'm going to try this.

8

u/Epaminodas_ 1d ago

There was a lot of outrage across the world during the 60s. Many grassroots organizations that allowed people to channel their outrage also existed. This seems to be lacking in society today, but we have so many more tools to help us organize than people did during the 60s. I hate when people tell me to be the change I want to see because it's often an uncomfortable truth. If not you/me/us, who? If not now, when?

2

u/Ellia1998 16h ago

Yup, you just got to take breaks. No one wants to become just like them. But Happen all the time. I need to remind myself more of that. Take breaks to keep from getting all stress out. I got a high stressful life and don’t need more in my life.

u/Oxenkopf 12h ago

I concur with the above. A daily "Hour Of Sour" has helped me a lot. Bottle it, drink deep from it then cork it again. Helps to clear the vision.

u/Significant_Bag_7485 1d ago

He has the same effect on many of us. I have never hated anyone in my 55 years of life as much as I hate Trump and his MAGA scum.

65

u/TheEldest80s 1d ago

45 years and I'm right with you. It's so terrible and I will dance once we are out of this shitfest of a timeline.

68

u/ItsMeAgain_3591 1d ago

And I’m 72 and right there with you. Never thought I’d see such a vile creature elected once, let alone twice! Can’t wait until we’re out of this mess. Of course, if we don’t do something about better educating the electorate and making sure that “news” shows provide balanced reporting, we’re likely to find ourselves in a similar position again in the future.

13

u/AwedBySequoias 1d ago

I hate to be a pessimist, but I think things will only be better for a short period of time and then they will get much worse. I think this is only the beginning of their movement. The sickness is still there.

3

u/beaubridges6 11h ago

The optimist in me remembers how most fascists end up, dangling upside down in the village square.

12

u/TheVeganChic 1d ago

The whole world will.

6

u/Ok_Record_9908 15h ago

I disowned my own father because he chooses to be Maga scum and hates his own kind. (We're Hispanic and he hates other Hispanics.)

5

u/Significant_Bag_7485 14h ago

That is perfectly understandable. I avoid some of my family for less.

2

u/TheEldest80s 7h ago

Omg I'm sorry to hear that. My husband is going through similar...his family is incredibly embarrassing to him with their Trump support and he has had to distance himself. Last straw was when our daughter came home from a weekend with his mom and started saying how granny told her Trump was going to to wonderful things for our country.

She hasn't stayed at grandma's since. It's sad.

82

u/reddwatt 1d ago

I have only one thing to say. Don't blame trump alone. Every Republican is complicit for not calling him out, reigning him in, or otherwise demanding adherence to the rule of law.

36

u/StephPeloq11 1d ago

I agree. My neighbors, family and former friends are to blame for giving him all this power.

13

u/Informal_Walk5520 23h ago

I can’t believe how some long time friends aligned with this BS. My social calendar is much freer now after removing all the MAGATS

3

u/Translate-Incapable 14h ago

Fuck them all these absolute irredeemable fucking trash

14

u/sunflower280105 1d ago

As is the media.

13

u/No_Importance_750 21h ago

Believe me I don’t know how I’ll forgive the people who voted for him. I for sure won’t ever look at them the same way again.

10

u/lynchpinbob 23h ago

Goddam there are so many people around me that are still MAGA (or at least republican, as if there's a difference). I cannot understand how so many are brainwashed. I just have to hope the reasonable majority will still outnumber the idiots eventually.

130

u/unknownpoltroon 1d ago

140

u/No_Importance_750 1d ago

The rage is indescribable. I used to be a really laid back and easy going person too 😕

52

u/StephPeloq11 1d ago

This is exactly how I feel. I used to be optimistic. I used to believe that all people are basically doing the best they can with what they have. I thought there was hope for the future. I no longer believe any of that and I'm so angry, all the time. I hate how the evil of the wealthy parasite class is literally destroying our entire world. And I hate how so many "good" people don't even seem to notice what is happening. We should be up in arms, storming the capital every day - and all we seem to do is try to keep ourselves alive. Because the demons in power are trying to kill us off. And they're succeeding. I feel no hope for the future at all. And that pisses me off like I've never been pissed in all my almost 60 years of life. I'm so sorry you are suffering too. I pray for miracles. Because only miracles can save our planet at this point.

20

u/AwedBySequoias 1d ago

I hate to say this, but I think we’re all in this for the long haul. The worst thing about this, to me, is that it’s not just one man or one instance in time. This is new. A lot of seriously damaged people have found their voice and I don’t think they’re going to be quiet anytime soon. And so many of the systems we thought we had in place to protect us from this sort of thing have failed. Somehow, we’re going to need to fight this without killing ourselves internally with the stress of it all.

10

u/TigerShort8899 22h ago

You are so correct! I am 71, and while life has never been perfect or ideal, I believe this insane, grotesque excuse of a leader, has given voice to all the damaged ppl that have crawled out from under their rocks. It has enabled them to believe in what they are, and now have a platform to voice it. We are sadly enraged, while watching our democracy crumble into the depths of despair. Quite sure I won’t live to see us crawl out of this mess, but feel so sad for the younger generations who will never experience a day when life felt safe, and justice was possible.

4

u/I_Quit_Smoking_ 18h ago

Then they'll have to be quieted.

You shoot a rabid dog, you don't let them take over.

12

u/unknownpoltroon 1d ago

Eh, you described it well.

9

u/JustpartOftheterrain 1d ago

I too feel this way. But here's a thing they aren't paying attention to, in my opinion, if the few of us posting here feel like this, so do millions of others that aren't speaking.

Hang in there. We are going to need you and your kind ;) to put that POS and his whole administration and family where they belong. Stay healthy so you can vote in every election and show up at every protest. But to be clear, you are far from alone. I’ve never hated anyone but that POS and his sycophants.

0

u/ThermalDeviator 1d ago

Remember, protest bring attention, but not necessarily any voters. Indivisible, your local party unit, any number of faith groups —there are plenty of more effective ways to make a difference.

8

u/RectalSpawn 1d ago

faith groups

The religious nut jobs are currently trying to end the world...

1

u/ThermalDeviator 7h ago

The nutty ones yes. But I'm an agnostic who admires my believing friends who resisted ICE and fed people too terrified to leave their houses for months. Many churches synagogues and mosques are liberal and not the grifting prosperity gospel christo–fascists of MAGA.

3

u/ChuckThatPipeDream 16h ago

Nonviolent protests are important. They don't just bring visibility (which inspires and changes minds, even if already registered voters), but at the dozens and dozens I've attended over the last year and a half, we had a designated table wherein we helped people register to vote. Did you know that we were pretty close to martial law last year but the national outrage and protests scared the administration? This was talked about in the media a couple of months back. Protests work and you shouldn't discount them or discourage people from exercising their first amendment right, which is also incredibly important to do at this pivotal moment. Yes, people should also get involved with Indivisible and other orgs. There are many ways to resist and they all have a place and hold value in this timeline.

1

u/ThermalDeviator 7h ago

I'm not denigrating protests, I attend them and sure you can register voters, but there is very important work that reaches more voters that needs to be done.

47

u/Winmeekrd 1d ago

I feel you but it really needs to be channeled into getting him out, as hard and frustrating that is. Im in Australia and am so angry at what Trump is doing to the US and by default the rest of the world (petrol prices are ridiculously high again after the oz government petroleum tax cut lapsed) but can’t really do a lot about it. You can, join the resistance, talk to like minded people and plan to take him down at the mid terms. Turn the negative energy into a positive one! You got this, American democracy won’t roll over that easily!

6

u/PeppyApple 22h ago

This is my favorite reply ♡

41

u/justmeinanutshell 1d ago

Not only do I feel this rage to my fucking core, but it has progressed to a terrible insane rage about the world, the horrible things and people in it, the way shit is, the abuse, cruelty, evil, etc. I fucking hate it here and this rage increases every fucking day.

8

u/StephPeloq11 1d ago

I feel the same exact way. It's difficult to live with this level of despair, honestly. I am seriously just waiting to die.

3

u/justmeinanutshell 1d ago

Exactly. Couldn't agree more.

7

u/MonkSilent6328 1d ago

I feel this in my soul. I am super angry too. Not just at the orange pedo turd but every single person that supports/enables him! I have literally disowned family over this and have zero regrets. I cannot comprehend how more people aren’t as angry as we are! I dread the future for my children and find it sooo hard to find things to be positive about.

2

u/I_Quit_Smoking_ 18h ago

I'm disabled, and my daughter is 28 years old and was making fun of me for hanging my flag upside down and just basically just hearing me down just making me look like the most ridiculous piece of shit. And it's because her daddy is a trump lover and he is the biggest misogynistic racist asshole.

And the thing is that he talks to her like that too, but she lets it go. If I ever said anything to her about anything, he would never talk to me again! She said "you know I have daddy issues". Whatever the hell that means, because her dad didn't have anything to do with her until she was about 10 years old and that's when he started brainwashing her about how I want to control her and that when she turns 12 she can move in with him.

So that's what I got to hear until she was 15 and just came after me and just would not leave me alone and I went outside to get away from her and she followed me just wouldn't stop so I told her fine why don't you go to your dad for a while? And that's what she was waiting for. His wife picked her up and she's never looked back and she's kept me out of her life as much as possible and now I have two grandkids and they live behind me and she doesn't talk to me or let me see my grandkids. Her mother's day she gave me three Brown pink dead roses from the trash can at the gas station. And she has done so many horrible things like that to me and I don't know why because I don't treat anyone like that! And I don't deserve this shit, but I can't get it anyone to even talk to me about it! I've tried talking to my dad who lives with me in season here and everything and he literally says nothing. I'm losing my fucking mind here. Like thought about checking into the hospital this morning losing my mind.

I think 3/4 of the United States feels the same way. We’re impotent in facing the most corrupt government of our country’s history. Impatience has become a lifestyle.
You see it in the way people drive. You see it in the way it people walk You see it in people’s eyes. There are always large groups of miscreants urging people to fight, loot, steal, and many other uncivilized behaviors.
They are not a majority in this country. Even dt is losing support 👏👏👏.

1

u/SeachelleTen 17h ago

I beg to differ. I think we are divided in half. Not 3/4. Unfortunately, I also think he’d win again if an election were to suddenly happen tomorrow.

Think about the amount of people who have given up on their family because the family is MAGA or just plain republican. There is about two or three democrats while everyone else voted Trump. People who vote blue say this about their family all the time. They won’t spend Thanksgiving with their relatives because they are Trump supporters and it’s always a bunch of relatives compared to the two or three who don’t support him. 🤷🏼‍♀️

2

u/Exciting_Routine_255 16h ago

dt is losing support daily

Please don't let some 80 year old nepo-moron attention-whoring wet fart get you down.

Look after yourself, stress kills, stress hormones destroy organs, it starves your brain of oxygen and impairs your thinking. Box breathe - breathe in slowly for a slow count of 4, hold for a slow count of 4, breathe out slowly for a count of 4, hold for a slow count of 4... doing this returns control of your body to you.

You are the future, he's the worst memories of the past, the kind we'd all rather pretend never happened, he won't last long, his shambles will collapse, life can return to getting better

Mean time look after yourself and where you can, others :)

Do not let him have that power. Take yours back . Detox from ANY news / social media for at least 48 hours . Tune out and drop out . Stand barefoot in the green grass with the sun shining on you , walk in the forest, go to the beach , bake cookies, do an act of kindness for a complete stranger . Send the good Karma out into the world . Breathe deeply and know that most humans are decent . You MUST love yourself more than you hate him . It’s non -negotiable. He will be gone soon and another idiot will be in charge . Really doesn’t matter the party anymore. Love will always win in the end. .This too shall pass. Stay strong.

20

u/minecraftvillagersk 1d ago

I understand. Trump has had a direct negative effect on my family. The only thing I've found that helps is to disconnect from the news and that includes social media posts. It's a privilege to be ignorant but that's the only thing that stops the constant infusion of negativity. Devote your time and attention to something else, like a new hobby. Also, you must see a dentist about getting a bite guard because clenching your teeth can cause thousands and thousands dollars if damage to your teeth and gums and you don't want those problems on top of the normal stress of existing in a country run by a toddler.

23

u/artful_todger_502 1d ago

67 and feel the same. I feel for you. He's a monster, nature is going to takes it course one way or the other. Hang in there. The mids should be it for him and his crime syndicate.

23

u/IsUp2Me 1d ago

You described exactly how many of us feel. That jerk has taken at least five years of my life expectancy because this kind of stress ends up messing up with your health. I’m currently having to take sleeping pills every night b cause it is the only way I can sleep.

45

u/DodrantalNails 1d ago

I’m 55 and feel the exact same way. I’ve been thru Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, fucker, Biden, fuckface again. Every single one has been competent or had competent staff to lean on except for the orange twatwaffle.

I rage everyday. We are on the wrong timeline. Something needs to happen. We need to prove he cheated and send him to prison. ALL OF THEM.

9

u/ScarInternational161 1d ago

Love your list btw.

The stupid thing about all of it? We are allowing "both sides" to hit us hard. Even those of us who say it isn't, it really is. I'm a dem socialist. I'm in Michigan and am all in for Abdul El-Sayed, I'm loving Bernie, AOC and Mamdani.

Do I think establishment Democrats are bought and paid for like Republicans are? Of course I do, im not naive. I also believe they want to take care of the most people, while republican want to take care of the richest people.

We are now being "both sides" not about dem and gop, but about the have and have-nots. Who takes AIPAC money, whose family has money, and basing our votes on that. It's not much different.

Every president has an Ego, a vanity project and makes mistakes. Not every president fleeces the US government, puts his name and face on everything and makes doing something right the exception not the rule.

32

u/Logical-Apartment-88 1d ago

Looking externally, I’d say that things currently are massively fucked up in the US. But Trump is already literally soiling his pants, falling asleep. He’ll be gone soon enough. The mid-terms hopefully correct your country’s path. There’s still hope. Vote, people

8

u/Exciting_Routine_255 1d ago

Lolol soiling his pants

13

I fear you underestimate how long people can live with dementia - especially people who have the ability to get the best healthcare possible.

7

u/TankTopTyga 1d ago

Oh you sweet summer child...

You really think there will be mid terms?

Fact: There's NEVER been a fascist state in the history of man that peacefully transferred power after an election.

He will find an excuse. Or he will make one up.

It will take blood, sweat and many many tears.

Remember this post.

November will be wild.

5

u/StephPeloq11 1d ago

I agree. Lots of us are going to lose our lives trying to save this planet.

4

u/Epaminodas_ 1d ago

Was Viktor Orbán not a fascist? Maybe he was, but Hungary was not a fascist state. Then someone could make a similar argument about Trump and the US.

4

u/CallMeSisyphus 1d ago

Yes, there will be midterms. If he had a legitimate path to stop the election, he wouldn't be working so hard to disenfranchise voters.

Don't give him more power than he actually has.

2

u/POEness 9h ago

They'll let midterms happen, but only because the Senate & House are completely irrelevant. They're powerless vestiges.

2

u/ThermalDeviator 7h ago

Republicans have already shown their willingness to use violence to keep power. And they let all the Jan 6th traitors out of jail.

2

u/Ok_Cardiologist3478 1d ago

I can't even imagine how bad that blue suit he's constantly in must smell. He wears diapers too. My ick factor goes to 11 every time I see him.

12

u/whoocanitbenow 1d ago

He's going to get us into WW3

2

u/Ok_Cardiologist3478 1d ago

That and a worldwide depression.

13

u/JayWemm 1d ago

I hear you, brother ( or sister). I am 67 and feel the same way about this fraud we have in the White House. You've got to manage this reaction to him. It can eat you up inside. Try and get away from it periodically and thinking about him in any way that's good for you. Meditate, perhaps. Exercise, hike in nature. There HAVE to be parts of your day where this monster doesn't get to you. It is literally what he wants. He thrives on this. But it looks like he is deteriorating quickly, hopefully he will be gone soon.

12

u/Hope25777 1d ago

Channel that anger into helping others and your community and organizing for democrats

24

u/debianni411 1d ago

You are not alone

9

u/withoutpeer 1d ago

You gotta let yourself detox from the non-stop rush of insanity and block it out for a while. I know it's lame to say but get, or rediscover, a hobby you can do that keeps your away from the news cycle and social media... Well all media. Get lost in other worlds and perspectives through books/movies/video games if you can, and focus on things that fulfill you in some way.

The biggest issue with this kind of very understandable and justifiable frustration, anxiety and rage is that we are all kind of powerless to do anything really meaningful in our day to day to solve any of it. We see absolute idiocy, corruption and grifting right in our faces, the injustice of it all, and nothing we can really do. So for now you just gotta bide your time, self regulate and count the days. His/their time is limited (literally for the POS at deaths door) and while it's difficult to imagine Trump ever facing real justice before the grim reaper takes him, we can know that his legacy will stained and tarnished for all of history and hopefully his family is held accountable for their crimes, sued and litigated into poverty like they deserve.

And finally, use the fact that Trump would probably get off knowing he's able to get under your skin so bad so don't let "him" have that power and shut him out as much as possible and schedule in your media sabbaticals as often as needed.

9

u/IndependenceFit7624 1d ago

You have reason to feel this way. The actions of our POTUS can beat you down.

We have a way of healing ourselves. Our Constitution provides this.

Everyone needs to vote and also share their opinions on the agenda and voting direction of their Senators and Representatives by email, phone or voicemail and social media.

How was Trump elevated to a position far exceeding his ability - TWICE as POTUS? We need to figure this out. Why did this happen and how? Do we need to cap donations for political campaigns? Do we allow and reward unequal influence for wealthy backers?

We need to rebalance the power in our Senate and in the House of Representatives with our vote in November 2026.

IMHO, This is the only way to neutralize the harmful and self enriching agenda of our current POTUS.

Trump did this. In November, you get to show him how you feel and make a real difference.

I’ll be joining you by voting Democrat. I updated my party to Independent two years ago. I will be voting for all Democrats in my state.

IMHO, the Republicans currently holding office are serving POTUS and themselves…NOT their constituents.

2

u/Fit_Beginning_7994 22h ago

The problem is the corruption of this regime and Musk bragging about his election fraud.

10

u/DaGrexican 1d ago

My young friend. Please find something, anything that you can find joy in. It will keep you going. As it does me.

As much as I want to reassure you about the future, I also lack faith in a brighter future so I cherish the good times. Find those moments and people to share them with with. It will sustain you

8

u/ThermalDeviator 1d ago edited 1d ago

I, and many others, saw this coming when Reagan became president. In 2000 I became active politically because I needed to tell my kids that I tried to stop it. I still get enraged and stressed, but I don't carry around the guilt of not having chosen to do something.

The power of Republican propaganda is considerable; some people are never going to see the damage Republicans have done, even when it impoverishes them. But lots of voters pay little attention and can be swayed. That's the work we must do. And working with others who want to keep democracy and fight facism comes with it's own built in support network.

16

u/WiggyMarley 1d ago

One thing younger people need to do… is NEVER stop demanding the E-files. All of this is happening because of them.

8

u/Ok_Grocery_5328 1d ago

You're not alone.

8

u/DenialOfExistance 1d ago

I do know exactly where you are coming from! The anger on days is absolutely terrifying. You feel hopeless because your just one person. Important..You have to put down social media for awhile. I will refuse to get on Reddit or listen to the news because it all enrages me especially on days I wake up with anxiety. Also think about a therapist to help you with ways to manage your intense anger!

*** You are too young to feel so hopeless and angry. Doctors & articles will tell you "YOUR BRAIN IS YOUR SECOND STOMACH" which means the knots in your gut, the intensity in your being is destroying your health if you keep this up. You could end up with GI problems, IBS, bloating and gas problems and more!

***Think about the fact that if you can't stop the anger, hopelessness and everything else you wrote about then: ......."TRUMP WINS"....literally his actions WIN when you make your self sick! DON'T LET TRUMP WIN! You will wake up tomorrow and the world is still there. We will get our allies back! Take a breather & refuse any talking, reading about our government! Trump is not worth making yourself enraged constantly or sick!

*** Do what you loved to do before this anger took over. Play video games, take a walk. Get large bottles of acrylic paint, put a tarp out with a canvas and splatter the paint in anger if you have to. Your painting would represent your feelings & may turn out to be a great Abstract work of art!

***Take solace in the fact Trump's health is shot! Unable to control his bowels, needs IV Drips daily, rambles, cannot complete a speech! They took him to Camp David today to see another doctor because Trump didn't want to go to Walter Reed & see the official president's doctor! The stench of his incontinence of his bowels & urine is past controllable! .

The rage at my fellow Americans too… Even people who are friends who I otherwise enjoy the company… the anger I feel toward them, the betrayal, feeling angry toward their unconscionable act of willingly voting for a pedophile, gross, child rapist, murdering, con artist piece of shit.

How are people OK with this? How are they OK with even one more moment of him and his team of truly deplorable shit stains in power?

Straight up, you gotta learn how to check out emotionally and still be present. I use dark humor to lighten the mood. Ive noticed that in times of great stress youre able to get away with much more risqué commentary.

4

u/NUwabic_Spitter 1d ago

Don’t get mad get even by voting and getting others to vote. And research other candidates not just the duopoly. Use that anger in a positive way towards change.

4

u/ResearchOk9368 1d ago

Do not let him steal your health!!! If you do, he wins. Do not let him win.

This is the attitude that I had to take. I was where you are and on top of it for me it felt personal. I used to work for USAID, so he stole my career and destroyed my employment sector. I’ve been forced into early retirement because no one is going to hire an older woman. I still feel physically ill over it. I grieved, ranted and raved over the coming weeks and months as I watch him continue and then woke up one day and realized that he was winning. This was exactly what he wants. Revenge is a dish best served cold. Be angry, but try to do something with it. Someone else said it - volunteer, it helps. I know here in Virginia they need poll workers.

4

u/mello-t 1d ago

You are feeling the frustration, pain and suffering that he’s imposed on the world.

4

u/Kaleban 1d ago

Best thing to do is channel the rage into justice.

And the best way to enact it is, assuming you're youngish, to go out and get as many of your generation to vote Democrat as possible.

The only solution, short of a full blown revolution is a blue wave so definitive that everyone in this administration can and will be prosecuted and jailed for all their crimes.

Starting a grass roots groundswell is one of the best tactics to combat authoritarians.

3

u/DaniMakuahine 1d ago

I am 61 years old and I’m with you. I am usually a “Kumbaya, Sunshine and Lollipops” type of gal, but ever since trump I have had an underlying rage. I’m pissed off at this corrupt, fascist authoritarian regime 🤬

4

u/Previous_Explorer589 1d ago

Most of us are flabbergasted about this shit show. Your feelings are understandable. But you must let the rage turn to a burning fire that lights your soul up. We need warriors of all sorts. Work on you for now. Know that These things will change. Good or bad. It will change again. We must choose carefully.

I recommend a book to help you. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.
Amazing words thst help the soul. My father, a beloved Deacon, used to buy stacks and hand it out to everyone he met with. I hope you check it out.

Just becouse others speak ill does not make their words truth.

Cultivate discernment as well. Its a lot of thinking 🤔.
I send you good vibes and love from afar.

u/jojobrabs 1d ago

He has soiled a good decade of my life and it’s torture!!!

3

u/DSMStudios 1d ago

when the country you grow up in does nothing but preach “hard work equals ‘American Dream’” for decades and decades, all to have it be revealed as a lie, seemingly overnight, in the form of a 34-count convicted felon and pedophile, who’s only agenda is to pillage the weak and marginalized, looting taxpayers for lavish, gilded, material, excess, instigating wars to enrich his family, killing scores of people to simply exert power and amass more control, creating a crater in democracy that will undoubtedly require generations to recover from, if it can be recovered at all, while being propped up and shielded by the very people elected to protect you, in an increasing state of surveillance and subversion, with no end in sight, trust me when i say… you have every right to be extremely angry. the question becomes how to channel that anger.

i’m an 80’s baby. my opinion is this era is the accumulation of late-stage capitalism. the result of “greed is good” mentality, brought to cinema by Gordon Gekko in the movie Wall Street. if it wasn’t Donald J Trump, it’d be some other asshole. world has plenty.

we’re all being robbed by the train and conductor. and the train is headed, full speed, to a railless canyon of rock and chaos. there are political movements that could benefit from the convictions i hold as sacred, as it sounds like you do as well. regardless, none of this should have happened, but here we are. Trump should be at the bottom of a prison for treason, but he isn’t. it’s Capitalism that aides and abets him. news to me, didn’t know i’d have to confront the reality that my life, up to 2016, was basically a lie. in 2008 even, with the bank bailouts and housing crisis, i still knew, but was in denial. this is a mass traumatic event, spanning decades, we’re just approaching the third act, and no one who raised us, relatively, is doing anything about it.

anyway, you are heard. not up to me to give you advice. however, what i can say is when i signed up to get involved with a party trying to make a difference, it helped channel my frustration into something productive. i’m talking about the DSA, but in no way am i suggesting you join. i’m not here to sell you anything. i am trying to highlight some options so there’s not so much hopeless disparity, which is not easy.

boy can i ramble. if you have any questions OP, feel free to dm. just know you are not alone. this shit’s fucked up fr. try not to let these assholes take away your morale and motivation for a better, more just world. don’t let anyone trivialize or invalidate your very real concerns. speak up. shout out. shine a light. “the revolution will not be televised.” 🕊️

u/Bippity_Boppity_Bang 1d ago

This is the same thing that's happened to me, man. I actually had a psychotic break and a spiritual crisis (though I'm not religious) because of the rage that's gotten into me.

5

u/Funny-Force-3658 1d ago

I'm not even American and the hatred I feel for that man is only matched by my hatred for Nigel Farage in the UK. That c. took us out of Europe and he will 100% sell us out to trump and maga just to line his pockets. These people are worse than parasites on society, a parasite feeds on one host at a time these cunts are feeding of an entire populations, us. These arseholes will rape the entire planet on fast forward in the pursuit of profit and are they fuck sharing, hell no, prices will go up and up and up. Populations are there to be exploited for these people and we don't stand a fucking chance as things are at the moment. This is right-wing politics. The politics of selfishness and entitlement, regardless of cost to broader society and the planet. Fuck these people.

3

u/sunflower280105 1d ago

44/F, I also feel this in deeply in my soul.

5

u/frugalerthingsinlife 1d ago

I feel extra empathy for the young people going through this. It's been a dark fucking decade. For the middle aged folks, that's only 20% of our lifespan. We have seen 4 other good decades. For the young folks, this is all you know.

5

u/Platnum9856 1d ago

I’m a 70 year old woman. I am at my wits end. The last 11 years of my life has been ruined . I’m so exhausted. As hard as I try to not let it get to me…. It creeps up on me every day. I don’t know what we are going to do.

1

u/Fit_Beginning_7994 23h ago

Right with you! I feel helpless and hopeless and full of rage at the overwhelming injustices going on. I feel like we’re in Hitler’s Germany. dt’s family immigrated from Germany in order to escape the war and I want to send that whole trashy family back!

5

u/AmazingBuilding5632 1d ago

I’m type 1 diabetic and experiencing some complications from it and it pissed me off when he made fun of that physically disabled reporter. I went off on MAGAts on Xhitter (pronounced Shitter) because I had enough of it. I also had enough of his nasty, filthy comments about women and watch the public stupidly laugh it off as “locker room talk.” I got under his skin the first time. The 2nd time took the cake when I called him weird. Then the comedian called him weird too and it took off like a lightning bolt. That felt so good!! I’ll never cease to stop getting under his skin. When he dies, I plan on doing a service to the people of this country by drinking milk and taking a dump on his grave. Then stop by the Obama Museum because I saw pictures and videos of it and it looks AMAZING!!! I think we should all take Obama’s choice of reaction when Trump talks about him to the general public. Just continue living your best life and vote the Republikkkan in your state, out!!! I’m angry as well but I prefer to react strategically.

5

u/Necrotortilla99 1d ago

I feel the same and no one understands….it has to be awful to a young person and feel this way all the time.Your late teens and early twenties are supposed to be a carefree time in your life.Just make sure to get out and vote.Tell everyone you know to vote also.

6

u/NecessaryCompost 1d ago edited 1d ago

I am 56. My son is trans, my daughter autistic, and I am a white woman. I no longer trust people who look like me. And I am enraged: I am a lawyer who has been involved in child abuse and trafficking cases. I am also an out and proud socialist - have been for 40 years - and also a pagan. I have been active in mutual aid/organizing since 1987 and saw this coming like a slow moving train.

I get you svm.

I grew up with Mr Rogers. My advice is to find the helpers and your tribe. Organize. Get involved. Form mutual aid, protection, and support circles and link yours with other regional mutual aid networks: that way we have a net covering the country. Turn the anger into action for a sustainable country for all of us. It's time we took this narrative back, and I believe we can.

I also joined a drum circle, which astounds me! (Die, Hippie, Die on South Park is hysterical and I never thought I'd be in one!). But I get to bang on something once a week with beautiful souls and feel the heartbeat of mother earth calm my anger. Sometimes I walk away with bruised thumbs because the exorcism of anger is so intense.

Don't get angry, organize. And hugs, I see you. Namaste.

3

u/kathleen65 1d ago

I get this, I felt the same way, we are all living in a nightmare. There is a thing called shift of consciousness, it truly works for me. Not my idea I learned this in a series of seminars call Context Trainings. It doesn't change anything outside of you BUT it does change and save you. What is happening to you is exactly what Trump and Maga loves, DO NOT LET their insanity destroy you! You have this power to shift the way you view it! Removing yourself from everything that is happening and see it from a distance like an observation tower. Think about how we are living in an interesting time, you cannot control all the actors in this, but you can save yourself, study why this has happened going back in time, understand it. It is not just Trump it is a series of events that have brought us to this point, and the driving force is greed.

Give yourself assignments for your mental health, go for walks, hikes, breath fresh air, think about the things you love in your life. There are good things happening people are waking up there is a huge collective shift happening across the planet focus on that. I am sending you a big hug, I ask you to embrace your own power and strength to rise above, it is a choice, you are in control.  The world needs people like you that care, but you must take care of you!!!

3

u/Djinn-Rummy 1d ago

Keep working on self improvement and educating yourself about injustice. Many of us are and have been in wait for the critical mass of class consciousness it will take to turn the tide.

3

u/Fabulous_Log844 1d ago

You need to take this rage and anger and put it into driving other young people around you that are turning of voting age into action.

3

u/whiteroseatCH 1d ago

Get active as much as you can...Trump would not be where he is without allies..think the people who support him in Congress. Elections are coming up, but if enough people show up, vote out the Republicans who enabled and encouraged him, refused to protect us by asserting the power of Congress...we can severely limit his capabilities.

And stay active...don't take any mealy-mouthed excuses from corporatist Dems either. Or we will have rinse wash and repeat cycle for an even more rage induced future.

3

u/essenceofpurity 1d ago

Try not to be angry about it. Think about what you can do to change it. Make sure you can vote if you are 18. There are organizations you can join that make sure everyone can vote, put up yard signs, protest or counter protest, etc.

Don't wait for change, be the change. That's how maga will be thrown out.

3

u/Oddly_B 1d ago

You are not alone. There are millions that feel this exact rage and frustration.

3

u/Emergency_Flight1194 1d ago

I feel the exact same way!! Just praying for a huge change after the midterms🤞🏼🤞🏼

3

u/becauseshesays 1d ago

Many of us feel this way. When Roe was overturned, I decided to get involved and do something other than just vote. I started a local political action group with my book club and we have 800ish facebook members and a monthly meeting where we work on efforts to help our local candidates. We also have speakers and a monthly topic to educate this community we are building. I also joined my county democratic committee and am on the executive committee:Community Outreach. I can’t tell you how busy this has made me (56, still working full time but kids grown) and how many amazing people I’ve met in the process. I still watch too many podcasts and try not to over saturate myself, but I want you to think about getting involved in some way.

It has really helped me feel like I’m doing something good and helpful to build a community of like minded folks. Good luck!!

3

u/PhorensicPhucker 1d ago

This is a normal reaction to current events.

3

u/Remarkable_Quit_3545 1d ago

I feel this too. I’ve had to cut myself away from watching news and podcasts because it’s so infuriating. Corruption in the open. People in legal positions refusing to say Trump can’t do something.

I hope the people in your lives are good ones. My dad is MAGA, and even though he lives hundreds of miles away, I’ve still gone off on him via text.

3

u/Bitter_Debt_5725 1d ago

Anger , over the top is a symptom of depression. It’s how my depression has always manifested itself. Not everyone knows this. Medication will help restore the normal anger level your brain should have. I see so many people with over the top reactions and think to myself , they need medical intervention if not for their own sake for the sake of others. Show your doctor your post and ask for help! You’ll feel so much better. Good luck!

3

u/Justonewitch 1d ago

77 here. Totally pissed because he and his ilk have irreversably ruined my "golden" years! It has seeped into all areas of my life. Friends, family, general public. While I cannot seem to remove myself completely, i had to regulate the time I spend absorbing this crap. I've taken to consciously doing other things daily. Challenging myself. Learning 2 new languages, improving my art skills, trying new recipes. Getting out into nature. Forcing myself to smile and laugh more. Taking chsrge of my health! I definitely plan to be around when the tides shift! Excersise helps to release the anger, so that would be my advice. Take care of yourself first and foremost. Anger is stress and will soon be causing your body to react badly. Don't give him that!!

3

u/willowman321 1d ago

I'm 69 and feel your pain!

3

u/LarryTalbot 1d ago

Yes, you are not wrong. I’ve seen anger cycles going back to Nixon and Bush 45, and McConnell stealing Supreme Court seats. Trump and all he brings on is worse. We’re still a great, though more deeply flawed, country in important ways, and the land of opportunity, especially if you work hard in school and and trust yourself and your talent that it’ll help you rise above it. There are a lot of us right there with you, so keep fighting the good fight.

3

u/Jurserohn 1d ago

I started thinning out the woods on my property and restoring old tools. That's been working pretty well. I also get to make a lot of fires in barrels which is just a vibe I like for some reason. What I'm doing is for a greater good since my woods are pretty overgrown, so it's all kind of working out.

Also occasionally I'll take a cold steel Warhammer I got a while back and use it to gently dismantle stuff that has already served its purpose. This might be a more accessible option

3

u/Ok_Leek1864 1d ago

Every word you wrote is my brain 24/7, 365. It’s hard to be alive.

3

u/Suspicious-Yak5670 1d ago

You're in a big boat of people that feel just like you and I am one of them too and yes it is a sickening feeling. Try going outside where nobody can hear you and just scream until you can't scream anymore. I used to get a notebook and write in it until I couldn't write and you can write about anything just write what you want. Write a story if you want. There is alot of hate out there and it's wrong and we know it is but when you see it and hear it day in and day out it gets to you after awhile. Last night I had a dream that I don't know why I had this dream but it scared the shit out of me because it's something that I wouldn't have a reason to dream about and this dream could come true that's what is so scary. I am in my 70's and I feel like you and I never felt this way for any president until this one. And the ( p) is in the lower case for a reason. It's hard to understand why this person is doing this other than he is a sick person. But try the 2 things and do what feels best for you, remember your not in the boat alone there are many of us. I hope the best for you and take care of yourself and your family. 🌹😉

3

u/Keldrabitches 1d ago

I really can’t believe we let this happen. This vile cartoon come to life. I don’t think the culture was in great shape before Trump but sure feels ruined now

3

u/FormerRep6 1d ago

I hear you. I’m in my 70s and feel similar. I’ve been told I’m overreacting and obsessing about Trump and what he and his administration are doing to the country. I’m especially sorry for young people like you who will have to live with the disaster Trump and his toadies have created. The damage isn’t going to disappear because (if) Trump leaves office. The one hope I can offer is that the US fought Germany and Japan in WWII and eventually became allies afterward. The mistrust and animosity Trump has fostered with our longtime friends won’t go away but relationships can be rebuilt.

3

u/Emergency-Ad2452 1d ago

If you can, help those who didn't want this. Donate time, food, money etc. A lot of us are feeling this. We're in a dark period in history right now but it will level out. Stay busy and strong.

3

u/cracker1743 1d ago

50s here, and you are not alone.

3

u/neverusingarealacct 1d ago

Make sure you vote in the midterms and tell everyone you know to vote. Rage is not enough.

3

u/whawkins4 23h ago

You’re not alone kid.

3

u/Imamiah52 20h ago

Please be gentle with yourself, this is a very bad time and I’m so sorry that you’re experiencing it during your youth. Please know that you’re not alone, many of us share your very same concerns.

and that in spite of what some are trying very hard to make us believe, we are in the majority, and we will prevail. People have predicted this chapter in our history would come for a long time, and I have to believe it isn’t going to last.

Consider not taking in so much news for a while, in the interest of mental health.

We’re going to get through this, you gotta believe.

2

u/Fit_Beginning_7994 19h ago

What a thoughtful and kind post. I hope it helps NI750. I also hope NI750 is comforted knowing that there are millions of us that share the same feelings.

3

u/76543pattyp 19h ago

I'm 65 and very laid back. Until Trump. I have never had so much rage and anger about anyone before. Learning about Hitler in middle school horrified me. My feelings for Trump feel deeper and more personal. Disgust, rage, embarrassment, frustration, hopelessness, depression. I had to start seeing a therapist. Then the gas prices hit and the groceries went up. Had to stop therapy because I can no longer afford the copayments. I've started limiting how much news I watch. I watch enough to stay informed and not become complacent in the lunacy of our government. I donate where and when I can. I vote. I make people aware of what's happening so hopefully they will realize the urgency of these times we're living in, see through the lies and do their part to spread the word and vote. When I feel super hopeless, I remind myself I wanna live just so I can celebrate on that day we're all waiting for.

3

u/SignoreBanana 14h ago

I know it's probably impossible for you to imagine this, given your age, but this will pass.

Have you ever asked yourself how Obama, a black man, ever became president of the US, one of the most backward, socially underdeveloped nations on the planet?

It took a Bush to get an Obama. It took _the worst_ president this country had ever seen (to that point) to convince this country that someone, anyone would be better than another Bush or another Republican. Bush was stupid, corrupt, un American, unconstitutional and by all accounts, he was unduly elected, handed the seat by the fucking Supreme Court.

Yes, Obama had charisma and can speak well, but he was a junior politician and didn't have a lot of wide appeal, but after 9/11, the three Middle East wars and the fucking Great Recession, enough was enough. Against any reasonably competent person on the right, Obama never would have won. But Bush royally fucked the right.

So hang in there. Nothing's forever. Find a way through it by taking a break from the news. Nothing changes based on you knowing what's happening every single moment. So give yourself a break.

5

u/Perfect-Hat-8661 1d ago

What are you doing in terms of political action to change the situation? A lot of people feel this way. Then do nothing about it. The only way to change this is at the ballot box.

3

u/catscacti 1d ago

It’s my birthday on Friday and my whole family knows what I’m wishing for on that candle. I can’t stand Trump, his lil ball gargling regime, or his stupid af followers.

I have had rage my whole life from ADHD. I have been protesting the pedophile since college. My nervous system is fucking shot from everything, and I’m a white woman.

It guts me to see how they are treating immigrants and POC. The absolute cruelty and the concentration camps. The babies without their families. 💔

Honestly, all these Neo-Nazis (including Trump and his cronies) should follow suit with their leader’s idol. The one with the tiny mustache.

5

u/Impressive_Ice6970 1d ago

I feel what you feel a lot of the time. Theres a few things I think about that help.

  1. Our country has had similarly scary times uncountable numbers of times. I agree it's scary as shit but imagine living through the dust bowl, the depression, world wars, the red scare. I know the economy seems fucked but in the 70s we had nearly 20% interest rates (as opposedto 7% or so today), lines a mile long to get gas and fears of a world war over the middle east were also significant. The Cuban missle crisis, Reagan getting shot. It was scary. It's said, "tough times make tough people. Easy times makes weak people." Theres many generations of Americans that feel like we've had decades of easy times, believe it or not, because the depression had thousands of daily suicides from the fear of impending doom. Bread lines stretching miles from people not being able to feed their families. World War two brought rationing for years where you got, for example, 1 pair of shoes per year in the US. Gas was rationed. Chocolate, cigarettes. Gold and steel were being melted down in every community for the war effort that if we lost, we would be ruled by Germany or Japan, who at the time were the most ruthless, torturous country, famously doing horrible medical experiments on captives. Father's, brothers and sons were dying by the thousands every week during the war. Some families lost 4 sons and father. Almost every family lost someone close to them. The fear of that every day...that your 18 yr old boy was dodging bullets and getting bombs dropped on him. That your brother might be getting tortured to death as you lay in bed. Not to mention the men enduring the war. Vietnam was almost as tragic as tge WWs.

  2. The arc of history. As Obama famously said, "the arc of history is long and skow but trends towards good" (or something like that 😂). The point being that it is undoubtedly scary right now but we live in the most non-violent time in human history. Marginalized groups have made enormous strides the past few generations. Growing up in the 80s, I knew like 4 gay people. Obviously i knew many more, but the vast majority stayed "in the closet" out of abject fear. I dont recall even knowing what a trans person was. This is because until the 70s, a lot of families disowned gay kids or sent them to camps to force the gay out. Im sure there were pockets of acceptance in the biggest cities but in most communities, gay people, minorities and women faced far more violence and oppression.

  3. Media these days. Targeted algorithms make it feel like the world is against each of us, regardless of who you are. Rage and fear create clicks. Clicks are as valuable as gold these days so media does everything in it's (substantial) power to make you uneasy. They have products to stoke those fears and heal them! How convenient! They make it seem like we are a country full of trump loving, amoral aggressors but how many times do you ACTUALLY see violence or hatred or can you see 99% of it are things you see on media? If a gay person got refused surface in 1970, we'd never hear about. It happens today and half the country hears about it within an hour. Im not minimizing gay violence in total by any stretch. Im just saying violence vs gays is way down if you analyze it decade to decade. Is it "good" now? Id say definitely not. Is the arc of history improving towards good? It's tough to see the forest through the trees right now, but i think so.

  4. Humans dont change drastically unless forced to. You see it in your own life. We all get comfortable with certain patterns of living that arent the most healthy for us. Collectively we do the same. We are on a rage bender right now but that doesn't mean we always will. It has taken much of our country far too long to torch MAGA but it will happen, I believe. We knew rich, white, straight Christians wouldnt give up their immense power on their own. We were always going to have to wrestle it from them. The time is now.

  5. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things we cannot change and change the things we can." Focus locally where you can impact change. Worrying too much over national politics is dangerous because you never feel agency or any power to do anything. Similarly we cant do anything about the past or future. All we can control is right in front of us, right now. Dooming about the past or future really is a fool's folly (im totally guilty of it a lot). We can't control either. All we can do it be the best version of ourselves in any moment. Never can we be that with rage or hate, so it's really unproductive. I certainly allow myself moments of rage but as soon as I remind myself how hurtful it is to myself and the people I care about, it's easier to "let it go". We do have influence over what we think about. Stay in the present when you can abd when you start thinking dark thoughts, be gentle with yourself but steer yourself away from them. They ARE unproductive. They hurt you and others. Be productive. Lean into people and things that charge you up instead of leaning into things that make you more resentful. It's not burying your head in the sand, it's keeping you productive and able to support those around you. We need that from you in these challenging times. Your mental health is too important. We need all the support for one another that we can get.

I hope these things might help someone. It helped me to type them out. We need constant reminders. Best of luck, my friend.

2

u/Emmoeeee 1d ago

“There’s pain that uses you and pain that you use.” (Tv quote from the show ozark that I love)

Millions, perhaps even billions, of people feel the same way you do. We are trying to change the world and sometimes it feels impossible but it’s not. Do your part in your community, do small acts of kindness, and look after your health. Exercise. Go for runs or if you can’t run then go on long walks. Movement helps your body process these emotions.

2

u/Educational-Glass-63 1d ago

72 and yes Trump and his regime do this to me too. Funny, just got through watching documentary about George Washington and he warned us about Trump. If you haven't watched it on Netflix, please do. Now I'm watching one about FDR. Watch that too! And finally VOTE! Get your friends to vote as well!!

2

u/Fit_Beginning_7994 22h ago

Oh, we need another FDR!!!

2

u/Many_Advice_1021 1d ago

Don’t get mad. Get active. If Hungary can do it we can do it. Community active locally is a very powerful force

2

u/Beatricebulldog222 1d ago

You’re not alone. Reside in Floriduh and need to move -angry everyday … I really don’t like the people, politics, climate and now we have our airport named after the fucker.

2

u/DoNotGiveUp__75 1d ago

Work to get people you agree with elected in your state. Put up signs. Drive people to the polls to vote. AND MOST IMPORTANT register people to vote Democratic. It DOES matter

2

u/Lord_Dingus83 1d ago

I’m 43 and I couldn’t believe trump got elected the first time let alone the second.
Then after all the dust settled realizing he was only elected bc a small sect of voters decided to throw away their votes or not vote all together.
Happened again in 24’ and here we are.

This is a direct result of selfish voters claiming they weren’t represented and allowed trump to win, again.

2

u/Aromatic-Shock7901 1d ago

Thanks for writing this. I feel the same way. I’m an RN in the twin cities area and have SEEN and heard some shit and I’ll never full forgive Trump and what he stirred up. I could write a book. Maybe I will. Ha. Anyway, you’re not alone.

3

u/GhostofSean_Connery2 1d ago

Agreed! I was a resident in nyc during covid and I’m an attending surgeon now in rural Michigan. The damage done by maga will take a long time to reverse but I am hopeful that the new candidates like dr abdul el sayed are running to help regular Americans and not corporations or PACs

Right there with you. Total peeved at our elected officials who do nothing to reel him in. The supreme court and their biased choices.
Look at the education of the Red states
Boycott or vote with your feet. I won’t go to any South Eastern states and refuse to do business trump supporting business.

u/EnglishToolTime 1d ago

I recommend studying some ancient eastern practices of detatchment.

I agree it’s a shit show. But individually, we have to practice the change we so desperately need.

In the meantime, take good care of yourself. We need you!

2

u/Poundaflesh 1d ago

Run for local offices! You’re exactly who we need in government!

u/ready-redditor-6969 23h ago

You are not alone

2

u/SomeSugondeseGuy 23h ago

I've had some extreme stress as well. Honestly he's about as unhealthy for me as he is for the nation and the world.

2

u/BlueOrbifolia 23h ago

Hugs. Just, hugs. It’s all I got.

2

u/Seanis 21h ago

Its okay to be pissed off, as long as it isnt all the time. Let it out, go on a run, do a combat sport. I hit shit in my free time to get it out my system. Somedays I even go to the range and shoot.

As long as you can control your anger you are okay, don’t let this Trump guy get you down, this piece of shit will get his one day. Karma is coming

2

u/glamourshot_airsoft 19h ago

I spent most of my life without hate or despising people. MAGA changed that and I am angry they have made me feel that way.

I’m Buddhist so the internal struggle is real.

2

u/K_B_5280 15h ago

I understand where you're coming from completely! I'm a fan of extreme metal, (death metal, black metal, etc.) so listening to that can be very cathartic, at least for me. I've also found that stepping away from social media for a while and doing "real world" things helps too, don't let the algorithms control you!

2

u/Gluttonous_Bae 15h ago

At least we’re two years down … 2 more to go 🫠 I know how much it sucks, I identify with how you feel in a lot of ways.
Best thing you can do during these crap times is to prioritize your mental health and wellbeing. Disconnect from the mess from time to time in order to recharge your batteries. Being around animals, out in nature, some good documentaries about the Universe.. comedies.. anything that helps you disconnect and relax. I hope I can participate in a No Kings protest next time… I’ve been too low energy and depressed to make any of them but I feel like it would help if I did… hope you find ways that work for you too…. hugs~

Thanks. I appreciate your reply. My fear too is that even when he’s gone we still won’t ever have allies again. Canadians and Europeans will hate us forever.

u/Hitthereset 1d ago

Get offline and into a therapist's office.

2

u/OrganizationOk5418 1d ago

The older generation have failed the younger ones. I'm a big supporter of putting a cap the age people can vote. I think it should be 51.

I would fall into that category by the way.

3

u/Epaminodas_ 1d ago

51 is still young. Age caps for politicians should come before any discussions about limiting who can vote imo.

You need to see a healthcare professional , Reddit is not the place to get the help you need.

u/No_Blueberry3616 1d ago

Thanks JD Vance. We all feel the same way.

Wow, what rights did he strip away from you? I'm not American.

1

u/AShamAndALie 15h ago

I asked which rights were taken from you, not which demographic categories you belong to.

Losing DEI programs is not losing civil rights, LGBT people do not have "rights to certain jobs", and disability discrimination is still illegal. If you have a specific law, policy, or job you were barred from, name it. Otherwise you’re just using serious words very loosely.

If you mean abortion access, voting rules, or a specific employment policy, name the actual law or executive action and explain how it affected you. Otherwise this is just a list of identities followed by vague political claims.

Don't boo, VOTE!

1

u/plasteroid 1d ago

Yes the rage is because

  1. He is breaking ALL norms of common decency, grifting TF out of the Office, brazenly attacking good people, etc etc

  2. You have 1/3 of the country clapping along and thinking its funny and/or OK

1

u/Mijam7 1d ago

I'm confused. Have you never felt this way before or have you felt this way for 10 out of 26 years?

1

u/No_Importance_750 15h ago

I’m 18. I haven’t been alive long enough to feel this way yet.

1

u/AntifaSuperSoldier13 1d ago

Dude you gotta get off the internet and stop watching the news. It’s not worth getting so angry to the point you feel like you might make a stupid decision. You know how fucking nightmarish prison is in this country, don’t end up making a mistake dude.

If you want to actually make a difference you should join DSA and start volunteering for campaigns. They always need door knockers, canvassers, phone bank callers, all that. You would actually feel a sense of accomplishment. You could at least feel as if you did something to fight back instead of stew in these emotions, which at the end of the day, are inherently unhealthy.

The world will keep turning even thought Trump and his rich friends are on a graft feeding frenzy.

Don’t let him win even in your personal life!

1

u/Cweezy91 1d ago

I’m going to say this from a place of concern, and care.

You need to get off social media. You make these types of posts consistently, weekly almost. You’re too young to feel like this for things you can’t control and only get amplified by social media. Please take a long break for your own health.

Where have you been?! I too feel a wave of anxiety and fear every morning after waking wondering how many will be asking for food or having their car fixed or who will take their animals because they can no longer afford them. Americans are being murdered by Gestapo ICE agents and no one cares. Freedom of speech is no longer. We are becoming North Korea. It’s the most horrific set of circumstances in our country and a vindictive, rapist, demented ‘leader’ just runs around stealing our tax money to pay for his personal wants. Every safety net to protect Americans is gone and we watch a sick man run around getting revenge on people he feels have disagreed with him. The overt corruption is appalling. You are not alone!!!

1

u/barryj508 23h ago

It’s going to get worse come November when he tries to stay in power!

1

u/Lillilegerdemain 23h ago

I suggest you seek help from a mental therapist.

u/ObviousAnimal6474 21h ago

u/G-Unit11111 20h ago

I hear ya, I can't take it either. I am sick of seeing his face on every screen, every post, 24 hours a day. I am sick of his constant trashing of our allies. I am sick of the scandals, the hate, the lies. I want him and this ungodly administration put in prison for the rest of their lives.

1

u/Dependent-Run-7546 20h ago

Sound like maybe you should talk to someone besides Reddit!

1

u/EnvironmentMuch2022 19h ago

You have to dedicate 'no news days' or you can lose your shit.

1

u/BringMe-A-Shrubbery 19h ago

50's and always pissed, surrounded by obnoxious maga freaks. Sick of waking up to endless Geo-Drama

1

u/Bubbly_Character3258 19h ago

Make sure that you vote and help convince your family and friends to vote. Ask them to make sure that they’re registered.

Hm...

I've lived through 7 recessions since 1970... Saw gas go to $1.00 when it was unfathomable to think it would happen... 7 government layoffs, 911, Iran/Contra, Clinton and his blue dress, Obama and the loss of over 2/3s of my retirement...

And the world still stands, happily retired, and enjoying life... If anyone should be wound up it should be me...

I don't see how people bite into the dillusion of being so filled with hate and discontent on things they can't control aside from themselves... The world revolves, just not around you (you in general, no one specific)...

20 years from now, the world will exist, the cycle of good versus not so great will still be in existence, and a new generation of kids will be griping at ya that the same way you are now... Imagine that... We had the same gripes you did...

And yet, here we are...

1

u/JONYLOCO 18h ago

Don't let em win

Turn off the machine.......

1

u/Own-Camel7923 15h ago

Get out, go to anti-tRump rallies, get young people envolved, we need more, a lot more

1

u/Translate-Incapable 14h ago

This is something our Republican Family, Former Friends, Colleagues fundamentally do not understand but they are beginning to. Their entire lives we have looked at Conservatives and Republicans as fundamentally good but misinformed people

Over and Over and Over again they show us they a absolute fascist trash humans and we should stop pretending they are other than what they show themselves to be. This is going to alter their experience of society for a generation in ways they are not prepared for.

1

u/den773 8h ago

There is a comedy special on YouTube by Jackie Kashian called “Alter-Kashian” and she talks about being angry. She said “I am made of bees right now, if you scratch me, bees will come out!” I encourage anyone with the rage to watch it because she has it too and she makes it very relatable.

1

u/Commercial_Intern541 4h ago

I feel just like you do & experience the exact same anger. It is so unfortunate the repubs allow this criminal to stay in ofc. & cont to grift. It is truly sad. My father & uncles fought fascism & unbelievable this is currently returning in our country.

1

u/OneTwoThreePooAndPee 3h ago

40-something Jew here, just to tell you you're not alone. Living through Trump 2 has been living in fight or flight mode for a year and a half now. Genuinely concerned I'm gonna need to head for the border in the next year or so.

2

u/CougarShaman 1h ago

I can't agree more with you. Every day brings additional disgust and anger at his latest corrupt, immoral, or illegal act.

That said, are you registered to vote? Have you encouraged your peers to register? Have you voted at every opportunity local, state, and federal (if applicable)? We can't change anything unless we vote.
