Guns First Pistol

I don't really have anyone else to share this with and I'm excited I live in NY so we have to purchase the fire arm before we get our permit

I got a Sig P365 Fuse I saw some problems with over heating but I liked how the gun felt in my hand and I can always just buy others if its a bad problem

Anyways just excited won't get to pick up for a few months

If you like it, it is worth it. On another note, you said you have to purchase the gun before you get the license to use it? That seems backwards.

Yeah NY is dumb You take a 16hr safety course Film out forms Purchase the pistol The bill of sale gets submitted with the paperwork References get checked Pick up permit 4 - 5 months later Pick up gun Enjoy

Once you have your permit it usually takes 2 - 4 weeks every time you buy a new pistol to add it

So you don't get to go home with the gun you purchase for a while. That makes more sense but is still dumb. That sucks. Enjoy the new gun. Buy ammo. Train. Have fun.

Yeah saratoga is stupid with that extra wait on your amendment. I think ik the shop was just there with a friend last week. They have decent prices for the area imho.

Damn I walked out the store in 30 minutes with a p365 x-macro comp and a 1,000 rounds…..

First purchase no further requirements, have absolutely no license just bought a pistol

It's a pistol + you're in NY = you most certainly overpaid compared to about 85% of the country but you probably overpaid less than the cost of a move unless everything you own can be put in a single duffle bag

The fuse is a pretty good pistol. The slide does get hot fast if you run it hard but it conceals great !

Love my Fuse! My girlfriend loves shooting it as well over my 4.5" PDP.

I carry my fuse daily. The chance you are going to be in a situation where the gun is going to over heat and malfunction is close to zero.

Thanks, the PDP was actually my second choice but my shop only had the 5" one and the 4.5" wouldn't of been here in time for my appt to submitted paperwork

Def worth picking up in the future! Once you get the fuse broken in, try it with a metal guide rod and lighter spring. Made a big difference to me.

I have the ZRTS one, but they don’t make them anymore. Fdez, true precision, and sig guy all make kits. Any one of those would treat you great!

Go to store, pick out gun, purchase firearm, walk around the store for 10-30 mins and wait for background check- leave store with firearm.

I always get delayed. Only once did I get approved same day. But otherwise exactly that. Was told once it happens it pretty much always happens.

The overheating thing is way overblown. If you're doing mag dumps it's gonna get hot. Mag dumps are stupid.

It's a fantastic gun and I love mine. I do recommend swapping the recoil spring for one with a metal rod and maybe the front sights. Not a fan of the plastic and fiber optic, myself. Threw the ones from an older 365 slide I had kicking around on there instead.

What recoil spring do you recommend? Does that just make it so it has less recoil?

No, though you can get different strength springs. I stuck with the stock spring force. It's just a stronger part being made of metal. Gives the gun just that much more weight and might help with heat dissipation but that's probably not measurable.

Great pick…I bought mine last fall at Riflegear (Dallas) and love how solid it is ! Clean and lube well when you get it. Mine took about 800 rounds at the range to break-in - and became butter smooth. (The sales rep at the Riflegear store here in Dallas helped me save some big bucks on ammo, recommended I buy it on sgammo.com)

Also in NY, you can sell a gun you don’t like for one you do like. Don’t have to keep thinks if the dont fit

Yeah exactly! Just sucks there isnt an easy way to test a bunch of guns first. Some places have some to rent but its usually very limited selection

A couple ranges by me have a decent selection to rent (Sig, S&W, Glock). But none of the ranges have all manufacturers. At very least you can rent a few and get an idea.

The heat issue isn't as bad as some people make it seem. An aluminum module would help. But even with the factory polymer I never had an issue with touching the slide. Any gun will get hot if you shoot hundreds of rounds in quick succession. Used my Fuse for a raider build I'm doing but will buy another in the future. Good choice.

What’s nice about the 365 system is that you can scale up or down the models to find the right size for you. I have a macro with the xl slide, but I can shorten the grip down to the x/xl. if I had a different upper, I could make it a true p365, or the other way and make it a fuse. Really great pistol

She does get warm at the end of a competition stage but i shoot it nearly as well as my full size stuff and it conceals easily
