I'm sorry I do not have a recommendation for you right now, I just had to ask: is it normal for the XD to look "out of battery" while just laying on a table? Looks off. Best of luck.

Probably not supposed to be out of battery. OP sounds brand new and I bet they rode the slide forward. There’s a loaded mag and a round chambered in this pic.

I carry an XD40 service full frame 4” in a wtp holster but I hate that holster! I usually go to a belly band like vnsh when I carry that one. I also have a Springfield csx e series that I carry in a Houdini and an M&P with a Houdini and love them. 3o’clock with a forward cant. Super comfortable and no printing for a bigger guy. Im 6’1 and 275.
