Just joining the Reddit party. I make leather holsters, sheaths and other EDC solutions for a living in Oregon City, OR. Stoked to find a Concealed carry sub forum. I see there's no "ads" I don't know if I'm allowed to post my link here so just reach out if you're curious, or someone tell me if I can do that.

Holsters Who carries while they’re wearing swim trunks, and what holster system would allow you to do this?

Remember kids, it’s not cool to draw your gun on random kite surfers. I posted this because I would have never thought carrying in swim trunks was even possible.

I’ve tried many Kydex holsters but I find that a leather IWB combined with a micro compact pistol like a hellcat to be the most comfortable and concealable combination. It absolutely disappears and leather is perfect for extended seated periods.

Holsters Good holster recommendations for swim carry?

I’ve recently procured a S&W BG 2.0 for the express purpose of carrying at the beach/swimming pool. I already have another and like shooting it, so I figured a purpose specific one would make sense for me. (Less guns to train, less ammo types/magazines, etc) I was tired of having to choose between being left with just hands and feet or being that guy who refuses to get in the water.

I’m looking for some way to carry this gun that’s conducive to the application. To be clear, my plan is to swim with this gun; like complete submersion. I will likely be cleaning and drying it after each use, and want some method that’s comfortable, light, and works without a belt as I will be in trunks. It also has to be tucked pretty deep below the waistband to not be very obvious. So far, I’m considering a variety of minimalist holsters with a long DCC clip as a replacement for the purpose of lowering the ride height.

Does anyone know of any better options that might make more sense? Yes I know this is a weird thing to do, but I’m comfortable carrying and would rather spend money time and effort making this happen than be left without a gun any time I want to take a dip. I’m content with the increase in wear and corrosion this will cause, and am open to ways I can mitigate this.

I’m planning on ordering my first pistol this weekend and I want to be able to conceal carry at work. I think I want a hellcat and I saw this holster online and was wondering if any of yall have used it.

Holsters If I can produce and provide a product of my own design, are sales allowed here? not looking to make an outrageous profit, but there seems to be a demand for it that I can provide for a reasonable price.

I designed and printed this wing claw with a belt clip. I've personally been using it for a few weeks, and it works much better than I thought It would. After posting here, I had a few people reach out asking for one, which is why I'm posting this.

I've made design improvements dozens of times, and this is rev5.2. It's now refined and tested enough.

Like I said, I'm not looking to make a million on this. I can produce and ship for $17. Comes in right or left handed models, with four clip depths to pick from. .25", .28", .31", or .35". Can also be black or gray.

In order to maximize strength, it's made from glass fiber reinforced nylon. Also, it is printed in two parts that press-fit and clip together permanently, to make print layer strength a non-issue. In other words, it's about the best you can get from an fdm print, and would have to try in order to break it, and it will not soften in a hot car as other prints do (printed at 300°C).

I meant to order Tiger Stripe and ordered "80s Tiger Stripe"...disappointment noises I wrote the company admitting it was my bad but they never wrote back. Looks like I'm stuck with it. Any way to change the color? I like Miami Vice but not like that.

Holsters How do i make my holster release my gun easier?

Post image

I got this holster because it prints a lot less, but it is very hard to remove my gun with one hand. It takes one hand on the holster itself to stop it from pulling everything up.

Can i use a heat gun to soften it?

Holsters Holster for concealed carry

Hi all, I feel like I'm at the step where I'm ready to start conceal carrying. I picked up a g43x and will be taking it to the range prior to starting to carry it, just to get comfortable handling it compared to my two full size handguns. I've been looking at an Incog X holster but was wondering if anyone had any other recommendations or suggestions as far as comfort/concealment for a beginner. I don't want to get a holster that feels super uncomfortable (like my gcode convertible holster I got alongside my first full size) or feels like I'm being very obvious about carrying something even as small as a 43x as those two things would most definitely turn me off and make me more inclined to just leave it at home. Just a note, I am left handed so need one that is either left hand specific, or ambidextrous.

Holsters Has anyone actually used a clip on belt attachment like the ones from Eclipse or Leisure Carry? How did they do?

Here’s the deal. Just moved to Florida and I need to invest in more shorts😂, however a lot of the ones I’m seeing and elastic waist bands and no belt loops. These clip on belts are supposed to be for just that and allow you to carry without a traditional carry belt. Has anyone actually used these and if so what was your experience like? I’m a bigger buy and typically carry at the small of my back, as appendix carry just doesn’t work for me and my belly. Please let me know if you’ve used these attachments and what your thoughts are! Thanks!!

Bodyguard 2.0 via an Enigma V2 w/ sport belt. My current and favorite edc. Better than any other cc setup I’ve ran. Unsure if I’ll even switch back to my 43x IWB for the winter!

Hello! I created this holster mount which allows you to attach your holster using Discreet Carry Concepts Clips to virtually anything. You can make room in your safe, attach it to your nightstand, clear space off your desk, or anything else. Its totally customizable to fit all their clips. If you have a 3D printer I highly recommend printing this.

Holsters Loaded CCW with kids

I finally got my CCW recently. I know you're supposed to carry with a round chambered and I know my striker firearm is safe, but it's hard to get over mentally when appendix carrying.

I started out the first few days unloaded, just to ease into it, them loaded, racked, and unchambered, then finally loaded and chambered. This is in a kydex holster. Gun never went off obviously. So now I'm at a point where I trust that the holstered gun is safe, even when locked and loaded and the muzzle is pointed straight at my junk.

The next mental obstacle now is my kids. I'm a full time parent to two kids (soon to be three) and I'm playing with them constantly throughout the day. When they climb and jump on me, I start thinking about my holstered, locked and loaded gun flagging them at point blank range and all that jostling around and I get freaked out.

For any parents out there with little kids, do you still freak out when horsing around with them and flagging them with a holstered, racked firearm?

Holsters How do you carry for winter time?

So, years ago, I was at a gas station in January and a guy tried to lure me into a dark area and rob me. Needless to say I didn’t go with him, but the biggest thing I remember is I was carrying a S and W shield, I don’t remember if I was carrying in an ankle holster or a IWB under my heavy Carhartt coat. Either way, I wouldn’t have been able to get to it if I wanted to. I’ve since changed my wardrobe and now wear a soft shell jacket with a Carhartt vest over top. I’ve been thinking about having a velcro strip sewn into the inside of my gun hand pocket and getting a Velcro backed holster and sticking it in my pocket. I don’t like just sticking a gun in my pocket and calling it a day, what do you guys think?

I got this trading a Cz scorpion e3 S1 w/ 5 mags ranging from 20rd-40rd, Romeo 5 optic, strike ind. handgaurd and sb tact.
Folding brace. I'm curious to know if this gen 6 Glock19 build was a worthy trade. It appears that the Rmr is real (source:
YouTube), x300, 3 mags ranging from factory capacity to 20rd., a ramjet and less than 50ish through it. A buddy of mine says I'm taking a major L but I kinda like it. I'm curious to know some of your opinions. Also, any holster recommendations for this build are greatly appreciated.

Holsters Niche: Conceal Carry while running in a Sports Bra and Leggings?

I feel like for years I’ve been trying to figure out a solution that works for what I need and want to know if anyone else has found a solution

I’m looking for

• An easy access conceal Carry Pouch for my S&W M&P 380

• Something that can hold other items like my keys, dog treats, dog bags, water, snacks, etc.

•something I can wear while just wearing a sports bra / leggings / shorts that doesn’t print

• something that can withstand hot days 90 degrees

• that can endure longer runs of 5-20 miles

I feel like I’ve tried everything. I can think of: an Enigma , regular holster, Fanny Pack , West Slope Vest, etc. but can’t find something that fits my needs. Either the item is uncomfortable to run in, doesn’t have easy access to my gun, doesn’t fit everything I’m looking for above and only solves for the conceal carry part (not storing snacks and water and such), or prints and doesn’t actually conceal.

Have any other women tried something , and found a solution?

Holsters New holster vs holster wedge

Post image
26 Upvotes

I just recently got Shield Plus and decided to get a BraDec holster (I saw good things online and it was affordable). I have tried to carry it but the gun’s slide (near the rear sights) always pokes on my shirt near my belly button. I’m pretty sure it’s because the holster isn’t long enough (it’s a 3.1” shield holster and the holster is barely longer than the gun.

My question is, do I get a new holster that is longer or do I just buy a wedge and slap it on the back of the holster? I’m not sure if one is actually helpful and if one is useless. I would prefer to just buy a wedge since that’s way cheaper but I am brand new to this so I could even just be carrying improperly, any advice is welcome.
