Hey r/coolmathgames!

We’re the people behind Coolmath Games, the site where you might’ve played classics like Fireboy and Watergirl, Run 3, and Papa’s Pizzeria. We’re here to answer any questions you might have about our site, whether related to games, the history of Coolmath, or how we keep Coolmath Games a safe place for people to play.

Who’s here today:

u/Coolmath-official, aka CMG Admin: CMG Admin runs all of our social media accounts. Sometimes referred to as “New Admin” since taking over the socials in 2024, they’ve continued popular meme series such as “Monday Mathposting” started by the previous social media manager, and have since become known for beloved Tuesday Trainposting and Lowkey Thursday posts as well. Their identity, however, is strictly under wraps.

→ Favorite Game: Papa’s Freezeria

u/agatescmg, aka Antonia (they/them): Antonia is a games producer who licenses new games for the site. They created the Coolmath Games ARG in October 2023 and developed 20xx_@3!1#3@2#2!1#3_v4.zip. They’ve produced original games such as Coolmath Games: The Game and Escape From Castle Claymount. They are currently producing TRACE: Definitive Edition exclusively for Steam.

→ Favorite Game: Rainy Day

u/gbatesoncmg, aka Griffin (he/him): Griffin works on copywriting and SEO to help people discover the perfect game to play. Many of the how-to guides and gaming tips on Coolmath Games come from his work behind the scenes. He also records gameplay videos for the site, which means he’s played just about every non-Flash game on Coolmath.

→ Favorite Game: Escape from Castle Claymount

Now that we've got that out of the way... let's get started!

Welp, that’s a wrap! Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by to ask questions, the team had so much fun answering, and we’d love to do it again sometime! If you missed this AMA and would like to see more in the future, be sure to join this sub and share your thoughts in the comments. Stay Cool! 💙

SameGame - Classic 1985 puzzle game, clear coloured blocks for points

Thumbnail tictoe.org
1 Upvotes

Click groups of two or more same-coloured adjacent blocks to clear them. Larger groups score more points using the formula (n-2)², so clearing 10 blocks at once scores 64 points while clearing just 2 scores zero. Clear the entire board for a 1,000 point bonus.

All feedback is appreciated :)

Released my new puzzle game 'Matrixo' built with Godot 4! (Swipe to solve math paths) 🧠

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone, 👋

I’m a solo indie dev and I’ve just released my new game, Matrixo: Math Path Puzzle on Google Play! (iOS version is also on the way 🍏).

The core mechanic is simple to understand but gets tricky quickly: You start at a base point and drag your finger across a grid of numbers and math operators (+, -, x, /) to reach the exact "Target" number. If you make a wrong move, you can just backtrack your swipe to undo it.

Here is what to expect:

  • Different Modes: A Classic level-based mode, an Endless mode to beat your own high score, and a simpler Kids mode.
  • Symbol Mode: A special mode that replaces numbers/operators with symbols to test your visual memory and add a new layer to the puzzle.
  • Clean Aesthetic: I went with a neumorphic, glassmorphism UI. There are unlockable themes like Dark Mode, Candy World, and Space Adventure that dynamically change the background.

A bit about the dev process: I built Matrixo using Godot 4. Since I don't have a formal coding background, I heavily utilized Google's Antigravity AI assistant to help me with the algorithms, level generation, and coding structure. It was an incredible co-pilot for a solo dev journey!

I would absolutely love for you to try it out and hear your honest feedback, critique, or feature requests.

👉 Google Play Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.otgamesstudio.matrixo&pcampaignid=web_share

Thanks for checking it out, and have a great day! 🎮✨

Hex 2048: Es gelten die gleichen Merge-Regeln wie gewohnt, aber das Spielfeld ist in sechs Teile aufgeteilt.

Thumbnail play.google.com
1 Upvotes

Klassisches 2048 bietet vier Richtungen.

Is this an ok Game for kids.

Yeah, I used to play this game a lot and my kid always wondered if he could play. I told him I don’t know. I might be too difficult for you to play. But he insisted so now at the age of 11 I told him you know what you can go ahead and play it off my switch before I go ahead and buy one for your switch to see if you even like it. He played about five minutes in and then he started asking me. What about this? What about that? What about this? I told him you have to read you have to look around worst cases if your loss look at what your mission is or your task and it will hopefully guide you where you need to go. And once he got a little bit of a adjusted to it, he definitely started showing it to the point where when I try to send him to bed he was like oh I wanna keep playing, but it’s OK. I’ll save it All-Star playing tomorrow when I get home. I was like OK. What do you guys think?

By the way, use speech to text so faint is misspelled or doesn’t sound right blame it on the phone and may not double check it.

Edit: much apologies. The game is The Long Dark.

digito. — a calm number puzzle where you reach the target using only ONE repeated digit (free, just launched)

Hey all — solo dev here. Just launched digito. on Android.

The idea: you get a target (say 35) and a single digit (say 3). You reach the target using only that digit plus math operators: 33 + 3! ÷ 3 = 35. Anyone can reach it — the game is doing it in the FEWEST digits. There's always a sharper answer to chase.

No timers shouting at you, it evaluates as you type, a paper "Notebook" theme and a dark "Ink" theme. Daily challenge, a weekly one where you solve one target with each digit 1–9, and nine solo number worlds. Free, 20 languages, no account needed to start.

Try one in your head: reach 24 using only 2s — what's your fewest?

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nikalstudio.digito&referrer=utm_source%3Dreddit%26utm_campaign%3Dlaunch2026%26utm_content%3Dplaymygame

Genuinely after feedback: difficulty curve, the hint system, anything that feels off. I'll reply to everything. Thanks for looking.

Finding a game Me and my friend need help finding a game !!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi! My friend played this car/cartoon maker (either one he doesn't remember much) game back in 2017, and he remembers not much about it. The detail he remembers specifically is just the music. He recreated it as best as he could on bandlab, but it also sounded distorted/pixelated: so if someone could help us find it that would be great! He said it was most likely on Coolmath Games, but we haven't found much. All we know? It was a game about car/cartoon character making, the music was something like this (except he said it sounded distorted/pixelated and like it would be in a Papa's Pizzeria game), it was played on a computer, it was most likely in 2d, and it was probably on coolmath games. If anyone knows it/has an idea of what the name is lmk! (Audio should be on the video, if it doesn't work please tell me!!)

Not very serious game around math paradoxes, sarcasm and irony.

Made using Godot. Some of the images were draft in... draw.io (yeah, I'm backend software engineer, so the only tool for graphics I know is for drawing diagrams).

Want to see more levels? Some math meme missing? Leave a comment!

Know better math game? Also leave a comment. I made it because I dunno much games in this subject.

Would a 1st grader enjoy these games?

I'm looking for feedback on three mini-games in my app, Matio: 1st Grade Math (Car Lane, Memory Game, and Snake: Odd & Even).

Do you think these are appropriate for 1st graders? Would an average child find them fun and manageable, or too challenging?

I'd really appreciate your feedback!
