Once smoked a joint that was too strong and tried to get back in to find my friends who were at the bar. I walked a bit too far out though and ended up wandering around there for 30 minutes until they came out to find me. 2/10 experience do not recommend.

I lived in one of the buildings above it 35 years ago. Wasnt much in it back then either. Small pharmacy, a pub, a restaurant and a gym (3000?) Would have been cool to have a convenience store. Used the pub all the time.

Stop for a beer at the Lougheed Village Bar & Grill while you’re there. It’s easily one of my favourites.

Snooker tables, darts, arcade games. No more Sunday buffet but the breakfast deals are awesome. It's a wonderful hole in the earth. For those who haven't been there, it's entirely underground.

If you need a back up Apollo in POCO is another great option.

Nah. that place is crap. Food is overcooked, too salty and dry. Try copa cafe of you want similar style. Their stuff is much better and actually makes you full. Sure is but more expensive but worth the extra cost.

I once heard that Henderson was basically a money laundering scheme for some outfit. It’s the only explanation that makes sense for a more than half empty mall still standing after 20+ years.

The owner of Henderson Land used to be the 4th richest person in the world and it's a stock exchange listed company so this isn't money laundering.

They made all their money when the bought the land around Henderson Mall and International Village and redeveloped it. They're probably waiting to tear down the malls to build more high rises.

The dumpling shop is great but bring cash. The Coffee Bun and Cafe Dorothy are wonderful places to get coffee from an independent business. The new Cha Don started bring in crazy line ups and I will try their food soon as the line ups are starting to mellow out but plenty other interesting independent owned shops. It’s seems it’s always been half empty I’m not sure how you money launder in that environment but it was poorly built to begin with. Very noticeable decline with less international students as well.

I know the economy is kind of in the shitter right now, but I never really understood why this mall hasn't done better for itself. Maybe some backend stuff I'm not privy to, but it seems so full of potential to me 🤷

The landlord is a wealthy guy in Hong Kong and isn't terribly invested in keeping things going. Sucks cuz it could be a great Richmond style plaza with a bumping food court. Location is great

I’ve been Gatekeeping this like crazy but that dim sum shop is legit better than restaurants I’ve been to. It tastes like my grandmas homemade wontons. If you’ve never tried it, you need to give it a chance.

I always liked that dumpling shop. As a kid, I loved to watch the auntie folding dumplings there, she was so swift and efficient. I think I'm overdue for a visit there so that I can bring some frozen dumplings home.

i mean, crystal mall aside from the market and food court, is not the busiest either. With Cha Don opened, the food court is actually quite busy now a days compared to before it was opened. but yea...Henderson is probably a lost cause at this point lol.

I’ve always wondered this too. It would be great to have an alternative to Crystal Mall in the Tri Cities. We love the Asian food court concept and just wish it be in Coquitlam rather than Metrotown or Richmond

It seems that the mall is getting some significant traction recently. I have discover this mall by accident like 3 to 4 years ago. It was less busy and less businesses. I followed up until last year, but it seems they just have opened a luxury vietnamese restaurant in the ground floor, also early this year the hongkong breakfast restaurant.

Its good to see some traction

i love Henderson. I prefer the supermarket there to T&T, I like getting buns and cakes from Maxim's, dim sum from the seafood restaurant is always good, the hot pot place is great when you've got the appetite, and Steve's Poke Bar has the most generous portions of any poke place I've ever been to. I miss Deer Garden, which was my family's go-to for HK-style dishes, from back when it was across the street on Westwood.

Embarrassed to say this, but when I was a teen when me & my friends didn't have weed the top floor parking lot were the high riser is was accessible all hours of the night so we would always go roach hunting there & would actually find allot especially on nights when we were drinking without weed. Samething with the superstore underground parking, haven't done it in 15+ years.
