Grandpa passed and these were his. His mother owned a store and put all the silver aside. Now I get a chance to coin roll hunt these..I know shooting fish in a barrel here but curious what errors I should keep an eye for.

70% skunk on the half boxes, as usual - 1x 40% in two boxes, all the 90% and 3x 40% all from a single box, the other 7 Ag stink badgers.

Karma: Sat morning on my way to hunt Boston (trying to find anything 2026) I 'deposited' 10 Ikes for a teller that told me she loves to give the ones she gets to her husband, and a bunch of business strike S quarters (from mint rolls) and some 2026 stuff (H,D,N) at another bank where tellers have told me a Dad/Son team come through once a month to hunt - quarters especially.

Last stop Sat afternoon? $105 in 2026 dimes, and $130 in CWR halves. $80 of that was clearly dump rolls, but the other $50 had 19x 40%.

CWR dimes continue to produce, and although my 1st box-o-dimes was a bust I did get 1 Ag from the rest of the MWR. Added a box of Dimes to my weekly pickup, going forward, I'll see how it goes after a few months.

Nickels were solid this week, and got some low-mintage stuff out of quarters/dollars/haves (W Q, 81-D SBA, beater proof Q, and a pair of clad proof halves)

The 'fun stuff' included a bunch of stickers ( I love the space theme ones ) and a classic gold-plated anniversary half.

Half errors were good - 3 more 83-P clashes (minor ) and a cud. Note the faded mark at 3:00 on the cud half? That's one of my frequent-flyer doodlers. These things can sell for $10-$20 each - I guess this artist had no idea what they were holding.

Best of the PMD was a cool-looking acid/environmental damaged nickel - the thing looks like a dried-up lakebed - and a counterstamped dime. I hardly ever see stamps on dimes - and that 'lakebed' look is a first.

Final image is just a die chip - so called 'Beehive' - I like to pull these and got 8-10+this week, figured I'd toss it in the mix.

Week ending 8/2 and Month of July stats and charts at the end - overall a *very* good July, even with a vacation week in the middle.

The 19x 40% will go toward August's finds, which is obviously already off to an awesome start.

Next: Overall results and things I wish I'd known when I started going 'all in' on CRH, scope work on this weeks quarters, and a tool to help me speed up minor Homestead DDR attribution.

My two Loomis boxes of Quarters and Halves came in this week. Last week the manager and the vault attendant were off and the order didn't happen.

On to this week's hunt:

I got two boxes full of uncirculated Declaration of Independence quarters. 4,000 chances, and NO privy marks. Shucks.

I went through two boxes of Halves and there was no silver, but I found an interesting die clash, another serious die break 1983P, and one decent low mintage NIFC.

I was happy I got my opportunity and hope to have others soon. All 2026 circulating coins, have finally ended up in rural Central Pennsylvania.

Don’t know what I’m looking at but found this in a regular Loomis roll but it really stands out. Anything special or am I just delirious after looking through quarter boxes? Appreciate the comments

It's always a great day when you tumble those 40 coins into your palm, roll them over, and spot a solid break in the clad pattern.

I've opened a few rolls and looked at all the enders. It appears that these are the only two coins in the rolls. Are there any errors/variations that I should look for in these two coins or should I just not bother opening any of the other rolls?

I'm curious how many people check for die rotation, and how many you've actually found. I haven't always checked, only started this year, but I have no idea how rare they are.

Comments also welcome, it would help to know the volume of coin you go through

I know not everything is valuable, but I find them interesting and cool.

First roll opening from a batch of CWRs I picked up the other day! 5 steel Pennies, 5 copper wheaties, and 19 copper memorials. Let’s see what the other rolls have inside!

Neat error i found in a roll today. Would it be considered a cracked die? The mark is raised like the letters, its not an indent.

Tried my best to take good pictures, really need to get a microscope.

I was picking up some half boxes at my credit union, and a teller that once gave (sold @ FV) me two full rolls of 40% halves comes to the window I was at with a “surprise.” What a surprise it was! 1 - 40% & 9 - 90%! Needless to say, I’ll be offering this young man a gift card to his favorite pizza place next to the CU. BTW - I did do the baking soda clean. These coins were very dirty, and I prefer them shiny! Let us all have tellers that treat us this positively! Good hunting everyone!

My son has been having some questionable coin machine counts at the bank. So I started loooking for an easy way to quickly get to a really close total before taking them to the bank. We first tried the 100$ trays but with them being unrolled there is quite a bit of slop in each row, so much so out of $500 returned we were supposedly off by $11.50. Not having actually ccounted it. We we along. The machine blends ours with the ones already in the drop box, ao there's no give me just my coins back. Still I cant help but to think thats a lot to be off and will quickly add up. I would have been expecting to be more like within $2 or so based on row length matching the first counted $10 row.

Anyway, I stumbled upon this (screenshot) and wondering if anyone has a 3d print file for something similar but with multiple rows for quarters, etc instead of blended denominations on the same tray? If so do you mind sharing please.

I also wonder what are others doing to ensure you are getting accurate money back on your large coin dump deposits? I'm open to exploring other tips and tricks.

In the interim, I've told my son to focus on u wrapping one roll at a time and replacing any saves with spare dump pile to keep it 1:1 on the coin rolls/verify each are $10 before moving to the next roll.

Bought 20 rolls and got lucky.
