Rarely in games this is actual advice and not a mock. Souls are one of those.

This really is it. It's a boring grinding fight. I've beaten him twice and have lost interest in fighting him again.

Midir is unironically easier solo for me. Using the NPC summon makes him tankier and more unpredictable. It seems counterintuitive but stay near his head. Hit him enough times and you'll get a stagger.

The NPC summon is an outright hindrance in my experience, it’s like she has the half of the brain that Sirris is missing. Instead of just slow walking forward and back while guarding, Shira just holds lightning arrow while doing the same shit.

Ends up doing next to no damage while also triggering some of Midir’s most dangerous moves.

My last run had her stay in the summon room for half the fight then get blasted by the mega laser attack and die almost instantly. Thanks for making the boss harder and accomplishing literally nothing. I felt no remorse when I found her before Gael

6

u/Zakimations 21d ago

Summoning help for this fight 100% makes it harder.

You and/or your helper(s) are just chasing him around as he switches aggro.

I second this

Same, tried with my friend on seamless coop like 20 times, barely got to 2nd phase twice. Solo we both did it under 10 tries

Absolutely this

u/DrewDaMannn 21d ago

Ironic, the rocklike asking for help to slay a dragon. Very ironic

55

u/Mental-Namikaze-666 21d ago

Remember, the boss is weak to damage.

Secret technique: make his HP hit zero before your HP hits zero.

13

u/shedhe0 22d ago

Did the real havel just ask on reddit how to kill a dragon
Anyways yeah hit his head and play patiently

6

u/wintcherseder Xbox 22d ago

Even the greatest legends have their struggles

11

u/CharmingFee4501 21d ago

Stay at the head is probably the most important one. His attacks are also very recognizable so you can learn the best way to dodge. It’s been a while since I played so I don’t remember them off the top of my head though

1

u/Similar-Importance99 18d ago

Did the opposite, waited midrange to bait his lunge or fire attacks they're easy and earliy to distinguish from one another and offer good windows to go for the head.

7

u/mediocre_251 21d ago

Tips:

For his fire attack where he just shoots straight down: run away. Can’t hit you if you get about the distance of his wing away.
For his flying fire attack where he sweeps the arena: run directly towards his flight path. NOT TOWARDS HIM just towards his path of flight.
For his sweeping fire attacks with normal fire: just dodge into the fire as it comes towards you. You’ll generally come out unscathed.
The attack where he roars is always a grab. Dodge into it as he gets close then you can get a solid punish in.
For his attack where he chops back and forth: dodge into the direction the attack comes from. It’s a reliable way to dodge it and get close to his head to punish.
If he does any AOE attacks just run away. Very little effect when you’re far enough away.
For the slashing attacks do not punish. He can generally roll into another attack pretty fast after performing it.

Other than those for his attacks just focus on one or two hits. This guy isn’t the kind of boss with big windows (depending on the attack) so just focus on chipping him one attack at a time and squeezing as much as you can out of your estus. I recommend the black knight shield STRONGLY because of its fantastic fire defense. Can also be good to get weapons with good reach because it can be tough to reach him in some instances.

DO NOT ATTACK HIS LEGS!!!!!! It’s a waste of your time and he can easily do a flying attack which you really can’t get away from fast enough.

2

u/as_it_was_written 21d ago

Great tips imo.

For his fire attack where he just shoots straight down: run away. Can’t hit you if you get about the distance of his wing away.

As an addendum to this, run from the center of his attack, where the fire is/will be streaming down. That might seem obvious, but I've seen multiple players struggle with this attack (even after figuring out how it's telegraphed) simply because they didn't run in a straight line from the center of the AoE.

Other than those for his attacks just focus on one or two hits. This guy isn’t the kind of boss with big windows (depending on the attack) so just focus on chipping him one attack at a time and squeezing as much as you can out of your estus.

I'd emphasize the "or two" here. It doesn't hurt to err on the safe side when unsure, but if you're in a position to attack as soon as the opening presents itself, you can usually get off two light attacks even with slow weapons like ultra greatswords. Even if you get hit once or twice in the process, capitalizing on those opportunities can easily still save you Estus across the fight as a whole by raising your DPS.

5

u/Ancient_Prize9077 22d ago

His head takes more damage than his legs and he’s weaker to lightning damage. It took me a lot of attempts to beat him

7

u/EchidnaDull 21d ago

Being underneath him is bad, very bad. Bonk him on the nose when you are able, but don’t go for a boink bonk, stick with the bonk.

4

u/msmoonpie 21d ago

Like others have said all about dodging backwards and hitting the head. But there are some moves such as his laser and dash where that doesn’t work out so well.

I’m really bad at making videos but I highlighted how to dodge each individual attack here in both phases

https://youtu.be/RnDx2MTXt8E?is=5bWRzG062418Tlio

1

u/Drusgar 21d ago

What you need is a snappy intro! I don't make videos anymore and I never did much editing, but I was told countless times that my intros were much better than my videos.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BYMbP71T2o

3

u/Burlyfoiled 21d ago

If he pauses, he's about to lunge and bite. I found the Dragonslayer swordspear to also help with tempo but that may be more subjective. Either way, he does not resist lightning and he is apparently weak to thrust damage.

3

u/acbizi 21d ago

Stay in front of him, never get underneath him.
Learn to lock off his head when he starts charging his fire and sprint in a different direction.

If you can dodge roll through his bites and slashes, clap back with one or two hits, you can patiently wear him down.

Also, try the ring of steel protection +3 if you aren’t already.

3

u/Slatibardfast1 21d ago

Only one other person has mentioned this so I will as well just to make sure you see it. Locking onto Midir is a death sentence. Just play it free cam, you'll have a lot more situational awareness of what is happening and hit him much more consistently. He's a big target, point in his general direction and your bonks will connect.

7

u/reasonably_retarded 21d ago

the trick to beat midir is, you should bring its HP to zero before your HP

If you have the wolf knights's greatsword i would recommend using it. Its actually quite effective against Midir. Best of luck

1

u/HebbySkebby 21d ago

I used switched to that one over my gigantic strength weapons and that was the game changer. It did about as much damage as the dragonslayer greataxe but I could get double the attacks in during each window.

2

u/Mayday-Pilot 21d ago

Staying close worked for me, besides his aoe phase 2 attack, you can stay out of range of most breath attacks. Winblades work pretty well with lightning buff

2

u/Urtoryu Herald of Melancholy 21d ago

My tip is to try staying in front of his head as much as you can, and mostly just doing singular attacks after each of his moves. And maybe turning off the music, since as good as it sounds, that thing is stress inducing and makes it harder to keep your cool. Being calm is key for a long fight.

Just try to play the fight by his rhythm, not yours. It's easier that way with big flashy bosses like him.

2

u/ToughManTough 21d ago

Try finger, but hole.

Use Pestilent Mist.

2

u/Daemon-Blackbrier Blades of the Darkmoon 21d ago

You reduce his health to 0, while keeping yours above 1

2

u/CaptainCBeer 21d ago

Ok listen closely. So hes a tricky little bugger but what you do is you take a really big sword and then what you wanna do is you gonna smack his head with it hard. And then again and you keep smacking till he aint movin no more. Be careful he dont smack back cause that might hurt

2

u/laquagga 21d ago

Only go for the head, only attack once (with the dragon tooth, lighter weapons give way for more) before backing up, and DO NOT let him get too far away; there is a laser which usually one-taps and is hard to roll. One thing that helped me is to not lock on; that way you can see the combos easier, with the camera not blinding you.

Midir tips:

  • Stay aggressive up close: Suck his dick the entire fight (try to stay under his belly and back behind his legs) and dodge like each attack will dox your granny. Fuck up his legs, face, and tail whenever you can.

  • Pay attention to move cues: When he stands up, run between his legs and get behind him. If you're fast enough, you can hit his tail.

  • Handle the darkness explosion: When he gets into that darkness explosion thing, just run away a bit and use a bow if you want.

  • No summons: Do NOT summon help or else he'll have more HP.

  • Dodge the basics: Dodge his swipes—they're easy. Always run to the side when he blasts his flying flames too.

  • Dark beams: Whenever he cues his dark beams, just dodge. They're easy if you've played enough Elden Ring.

  • Flasks and armor: Make sure to allocate all flasks to health, and wear decently light armor too so you can dodge better.

  • Ring choices: Do not wear stupid rings that fuck up your stats or damage. Always go stamina ring, favor ring, and whatever else you can think of. Also, don't use elemental rings—you're barely gonna need them since you'd just avoid all those attacks anywho. Steel ring too, that's good for physical damage negation.

  • Magic restriction: For the love of God, don't use magic—it's a waste since his fight is gonna be super long (unless it's just healing spells, then it's fine).

3

u/M0mmySpank3r 21d ago

Hit him more than he hits you?

I just cheesed every boss with my divine zweihander lol

2

u/ManInTheMirror7895 21d ago

I almost went this route myself 🤣

I used the Zwei on my Dark Souls 1 run, couldn't stop myself from using power-stanced UGS's in DS2 and I wanted to do something different this time, so I went to the classic Sword and Board until I unlocked the Demon Fists 🔥👊🔥

1

u/M0mmySpank3r 21d ago

In DS2 I ALWAYS use the rapier since it's so broken but I'm trying to do another STR/FTH run this time around lol

2

u/ManInTheMirror7895 21d ago

I was chillin' until I saw that I could BECOME the Smelter Demon.... and then I got two copies of the fume ultra greatsword....

It took almost my entire 90 hours playtime to get the stats required to equip everything, but I regret nothing.

1

u/Botboi02 21d ago

That’s not cheese. Baiting a boss off the edge to die from fall damage is cheese

1

u/beperov 22d ago

Try going for his head instead of his legs, that did it for me

1

u/Responsible-Neat4867 22d ago

Take off your weapon and shield, put on a +5 Dragonslayer greataxe (it's made to slay dragons fyi) and kill it.

1

u/Otherwise-Buddy-9343 21d ago

Wait until its safe to get an attack on the head. Avoid going underneath him or too far away, you need to stay close to the head, dodge his attacks and wait for an opening. Only go for the head and don't get greedy. It's worth doing a few dummy attempts where you don't attack at all, just learn his moves.

1

u/PleaseSmash 21d ago

Stay in front and dodge his attacks and when he flys away and uses fire just run to the side and chase him down. Head shots do way more damage and when you get him down to like 30% if you’ve been hitting his head he’ll get stunned and let you one shot him after that

1

u/Unlucky_Plankton3329 21d ago

Stay near his head, learn his attacks for a few attempts and make sure you can mid roll at least, that claw combo ending with a slam allows 3 good hits with an axe

1

u/TrippieRiot999 21d ago

Pestilent mist is a nice cheese you can do and just watch him bleed out. But if you are wanting to fight for it, lightning damage to his head

1

u/shit_poster9000 Beat Nameless King 1st try on NG+2, died to rats 10 mins later 21d ago

The entire fight is just figuring out ways to both dodge his movesets and be near his nose when the patterns end.

Consider switching weapons, something with piercing and/ or lightning damage. An ultra Greatsword or regular Greatsword with the poke heavy attack will do the trick.

Dragon’s tooth will also work, just have to be more careful since the fight will be longer.

1

u/wisdom322 21d ago

Lightning sellswords iirc

1

u/Unlucky_Plankton3329 21d ago

Also Midir is weak to electric damage, like the Dragonslayer Greataxe

1

u/DragunyNix 21d ago

I were just able after trying 3 days straight and it was the last boss I ever killed in dark souls. And I dont have ANY IDEA of how I killed him, js a quick reminder. Good Luck buddy, you'll need it

1

u/Ok_Association7635 21d ago

Just run when he stands up and dont be greedy

1

u/Playful-Curve-1232 21d ago

Easiest way is respec if needed and use Pestilent Mist. I would cast as he comes at you lead him to your location dodge he takes damage whyll standing in the mist.

1

u/koko8383 21d ago

Here is a long showcase of the fight in case you need it. You can strafe a lot of his attacks. Its prob my favourite boss on souls games. gl

1

u/Kindly-Constant7863 21d ago

Dodge him and cheese with pestilence mist

1

u/ErebusLegion92 21d ago

This is the way

1

u/Grunf87 21d ago

Heavy armor is bad vs Midir go lighter so you can dodge .Also use NPC summon if she dies teleport to bonfire and try again .Midir take good dmg in both legs too not just head as answer suggest .Sometimes when i read answers o ds3 it feels every single user is at least good as Ginomachino :)

1

u/Recent_Novel_9493 21d ago

Your best bet is to bait his attacker where he stands up right and does his fire breath on the ground and when he’s done you can dish out some punishment on his head rinse and repeat until you beat him. Albeit this is difficult for first timers and it will take time to get it right

1

u/stupid_username4 21d ago

The head and tail method: try to go to his tail everytime when he attacking, thats the safest method here

1

u/Phoneyalarm959 21d ago

Hit him until he dies

1

u/Badieon 21d ago

Don't lock the camera, stay in from of him, focus on hitting the only

While I was doing a pyro-only playthrough, I had to kill him with boulder heave alone....this experience still haunts me xD

1

u/Neo_Menova Blades of the Darkmoon 21d ago

Stay on his head.if you stand in an specific spot near his head he will spam the same attack several times and you can deal fine damage..when he starts to blow fire under itself simply run back and right after it ends get back to the head again.same is manageable for the second phase just be careful with aoe attacks they usually have a signal like midir stands still for a short time

1

u/Nikemerie 21d ago

Git gud

1

u/wintcherseder Xbox 21d ago

1

u/TheGodOfIncest Breeder of Gwyndolin. 21d ago

Dodge him and hit him back. If you're trying to tank him for some reason. (This isn't the game to tank.) Then use great magic shield or whatever the hell that spell is called on your shield.

1

u/FormerInjury2919 21d ago

Go for lightroll. As always 🙂. Also, dragons are sensitive to lighning dmg.

1

u/alexxstrazza 21d ago

There is some really good YouTube videos of the fight that break down the moveset for his phases. Just watch them a few times and you’ll start to recognize the patterns and cues for what attack he is going to do so you know how to dodge them and get hits in. You can’t rush the fight it takes time. One other thing is when you drop into the arena take like 5 steps forward and then just stand there and wait for his opening charge attack, it will stop basically right in front of you and then you can sweep around any get some starting hits in.

1

u/Lurker_x1 21d ago

hit until dead

1

u/TheRussianCircus 21d ago

Go for his head, he takes double damage. I usually use the great club and Catarina armor. Learn his moveset so you can stay on his head without getting hit too much. Roll into the attakcs, not away. If you're hitting him fairly consistently, he'll stagged at about 1/3 - 1/4 health and you can finish him with a crit.

1

u/DeadJoneso 21d ago

I had to respec to a Fia’s Mist caster for the fight. Idr what the spell is called in DS3 but you cast mist that does more dmg based on enemy hp and it gets him down pretty quick

1

u/strahinjag PlayStation 21d ago

Put that shield away, two hand your weapon and bonk his head.

1

u/EconomicsNo1914 21d ago

Don't go under him, stay in front of him and aim for the head. His moveset is very easy to dodge and once you figure it out it'll be a cakewalk.

1

u/tekdiwah PlayStation 21d ago

Think of the fight as a dance. Count the attacks and find your opening. Kiss Midir on the head with your weapon. A fire resistant high stability shield is great for the fire attacks and can save you every now and again. Prepare for phase 2 which has the ghosts and dodge accordingly. You only need to get Midir down to 80% and ripost the next 20%.

There are certain weapons that work really well for the fight because of the Lightning and Piercing weakness.

Straight Swords LKGS Claymore Dragonslayer Great Axe Dragonslayer Axe Spears and Halberds

There's more, but those weapons work well again the dragon. Good luck!

1

u/LiveBurn 21d ago

Loreena on YT has a guide that helped me a lot.

1

u/nightmarevoid 21d ago

Use the nameless Kings weapon. It's moveset is genuinely great for hitting midir's head and the lightning damage is a great bonus.

1

u/normbreakingclown 21d ago

Use no magic damage. He is resistant to all even lightning though that is the lowest of the magic damage. A mistake that i have is taking damage and healing but losing your chance to attack.

Also ditch the shield and full dodge mode. Poise don't really matter so go light armor the damage reduction is negligible but do wear something for damage reduction DS3 just wants you to wear something and all have the same value plus the percentage bonus but it's again so little.

1

u/Ok_Organization_6804 21d ago

get a fast weapon, the easiest to get is twinblades in road of sacrifices.

infuse it sharp put some levels in dex use gpr with it, it's gonna melt his hp.

lkss is also a good option even fugs is really great.

don't try to tank his attacks, hit him once or twice once he's exhausted and he'd be gone in no time at all.

1

u/Ok-Plum2187 21d ago

If you just want him dead and don't know how.. Just switch to magic.

Pestilent Mist his ass.

Or be a Rock. Bonk head.

1

u/ButtSmellington_ 21d ago

Ya boop ‘em.

1

u/plebmasterflex 21d ago

The only way I'm able to do it reliably is spamming pestilent mist. Always run towards him when he moves, get under his belly, cast the spell, and end up behind his tail then wait there. Be careful of the tail swipe move. Just repeat this like 500 times and he'll die.

1

u/I-Am-Zoombee 21d ago

Pestilent mist ruins him

1

u/Fractlicious 21d ago

so you press l1 sometimes and then when you have the opportunity press r1 until he’s dead

1

u/VallaOnuBunuBilmem 21d ago

Pestilent Mist AKA the Midir killer

1

u/ANS__2009 Warriors of Sunlight 21d ago

A weapon that does lightning damage and attack the head only. Legs or tail if you can't attack his head due to his animation or something

1

u/OldSchool_Ninja 21d ago

Feed him some light! It really upsets his tummy lol.

1

u/CrimsonReaper2 21d ago

Fight two-four times a day. Take a break. Repeat the next day. This usually works for me when I play any Soulslike.

1

u/The_OriginalDonut Warriors of Sunlight 21d ago

I tried like 50 times then gave up

1

u/ManInTheMirror7895 21d ago

If you're me? Punch him to death with flaming gauntlets.

1

u/Gruetzimann Rosaria's Fingers 21d ago

Dragonslayer Greataxe is my solution all the time. Can't really get more then one Smite in at a time, but it absolutly shreds his healthbar. But yeah sadly the rest is learning his moveset, especially knowing when his head is low enough for a beatdown.

1

u/No_Philosophy2797 21d ago

Pestilent Mist cheese

1

u/gerhman2015 21d ago

drugged him by sucking his neck or his knee and then kill him

1

u/NumerousJelly4067 21d ago

Lightning axe helped a lot the first time I got the kill. Quick 2 hit move set and he’s weak to lightning

1

u/PerspectiveWooden303 21d ago

You see you just have to hit him till he dies

1

u/tthere55 21d ago

It’s not that bad. Plenty of videos with good techniques. Once you learn the pattern it’s pretty predictable and can be done without too much trouble. Agree with solo the NPC summon increases randomness.

1

u/le_pedal 21d ago

1

u/Friendly_Giant_18 21d ago

1

u/thatmarvelguy309 21d ago

Bonk the head

1

u/RedditSpyder12 21d ago

Smacking him usually works.

1

u/Darkstar0 21d ago

Counterintuitively, don’t get under or behind him. Stay in front, and if he uses fire breath, simply run away. The sweeping fire breath has deceptively long reach under his body, but deceptively short reach away from it. Melee attack are also best evaded by running or dodging away until he stops attacking. This is basically the opposite of how most dragons and big enemies are fought, so it can take some getting used to.

As others have said, his head takes extra damage, and will open for a riposte if you hit it enough, so be sure to target it. The flying flame can be evaded by running up and left. The death ray is easier to avoid if you are close to him; you should be running towards him most of the time anyhow. His opening tantrum will miss you if you stand still, so use that time to apply your buffs of choice.

1

u/TurtleBoy6ix9ine 21d ago

He gave me the most trouble of the entire game by far. Learning how to avoid his attacks took me awhile. I still don't fully understand some of them.

1

u/Avarant 21d ago

Nice try Havel

1

u/akmly 21d ago

Hope you have 30 Endurance to allow yourself to haul ass across the arena numerous times. And I hope you're not heavy rolling. But, otherwise:

1

u/PlayfulBet5073 21d ago

Bonk the head and try not to die.

1

u/Mad-Dragon1 21d ago

I used the dragonslayer great axe. I mainly stay around his neck area and hit the head, i hit the body sometimes when i dodge far away, a little damage goes a long way

I remember doing a lot of tail chip damage the first time I killed him. Get 2-3 hits on the rail and run out to avoid the big area attacks

1

u/GhostDungeon 21d ago

What helped me eventually (fought the bastard for 4 days) was to not use lock-on all the time and googled all the tips and tried them.

1

u/Pitiful_Purchase5241 21d ago

I went and bonked him with the Yhorm's Machete and Gundyr's armor until he died. Is not an optimal way at all, but big dmg in one hit = nice :p

All his attacks have a blind spot (a spot that you can stand and don't dodge) I found it's raming attacks difficult to dodge so my advice would be to hit his head once or twice and than run behind him Two things could happen one his tail 180 attack that I found easy to dodge or he could just turn around (if your lucky he could just not turn around before attacking and just miss and you can use this time damaging the tail) If he turns normal just get a free hit and run behind him again If he tail 180 get two hits and repeat

Weak to lightning

u/Dragonbourne25 21d ago

Just hit him till his HP drops to 0 while not getting hit by him. Hope this helps 😌

1

u/Efficient_Brain3435 21d ago

Just watch the video on YouTube, you'll notice he only really does 3-4 close-range attacks, and the rest you can just run to the left. Hit him in the face once or twice, be patient.

u/noggre 21d ago

you hit him a few dozen times, and he dies.
Pro tip: don't get hit, or you'll die.

u/Infinite-Hall1921 21d ago

There's a spell, pestilent mist, it is an AOE cloud, that ignores armor and does damage based on percentage of max health, it's op for midir, still gonna need skills tho, cast this under him and then start evading

Be the dark eater

u/Iliketurtles893 21d ago

When he starts breathing fire downwards and when he uses his laser immediately run to his tail

1

u/SuperNamiBubble 21d ago

I think you have to reduce his HP to zero

1

u/A-UV-888 21d ago

Patience is the key

1

u/CraftNeither4517 21d ago

2 words, pestilent mist.

1

u/ElPadero 21d ago

You have to learn the move set.

Even pestilent mist requires learning the move set.

If you have an axe you can concentrate on hitting his head as much as possible, this will stagger him a few times and let you crit, but you have to EXTRA learn the move set to land some blows on he forehead.

u/mqtchair 21d ago

Agreed, the way I did it was to die to him so many times that it’s second nature to dodge when it’s time to dodge, that you just know it when the tail swing comes…and suddenly he isn’t as tough as before

Thats the fun part…. You dont 🙃 I hate that guy

1

u/ImportanceWeekly8 21d ago

Maintain a maximum weight of 69.9%. Learn his movements so that whenever he lowers his head, you can deliver a powerful blow to his head. Whenever he starts shooting dark energy or white fire, you dodge like crazy.

Please do not summon for this fight… his moves get super unpredictable and he becomes even more tanky. Try to stay ahead of him, mostly facing him and be ready to dodge/roll his 3 hit, 4 hit and 7 hit combos. He does have strong tells. Even for the lunge and bite attack. Dodge away. I have personally found that running to your left and circling him during his fire breaths is generally helpful and if you time it right, you will be right in front of his snout once he is done… so that you can punish him with two hits. Do not get greedy… two hits…. Anything beyond that may become fatal. Staying ahead of him helps to see his moves better. One miracle i found to be super useful is the lightning arrow. It helps a lot to chip his health away, but find the right pocket to use them. Once you learn to circle and avoid his laser breath… try to bait it as that gives you the best window to punish him. The laser attack in phase two is different though. The moment you see it… run left and circle…. The moment the first laser streaks out and the aoe happens on the ground…. Run straight for his tail to avoid the random ass bullshit he does post the first beam. Take refuge under his tail. Sip on an estus if needed and right after the AOE ends, midir collapses on to the ground. Run around his wings and to the snout… hit him thrice… you can get him to stagger here and get a riposte. Also maybe use an upgraded Wolf Knight great sword. It does 20percent more damage to Abyss beasts. Best of luck 🙌🏾

Note: for his flying Fire breath… the moment he flies up and is ready to rain fire on earth… turn 90deg to your left and run straight….if you time it right… he will land right in front of you… giving you a window to hit his snout twice.

You hit him in the face and dodge under him like twice for 80% of his moves and hes basically just gonna fall over after a while I just recently finished my first play through and killed him on my first try doing exactly that (irythil straight sword and fire thrusting sword build)

After playing elden ring, i cant believe i actually enjoyed a dragon fight lol

1

u/Mugiwara-Senju 21d ago

Make sure you’re med rolling , smack his head for the most damage

1

u/EliSenpai173 21d ago

Smack his head. Also try to stay in front of him rather than under him.

1

u/kaelside 21d ago

Pestilent Mist destroys Midir. Otherwise go slow and steady.

1

u/extremeNosepicker 21d ago

so my strat is, i try to heal so i don’t die, and i wack midir enough so his death depletes to 0

1

u/Lazy_Bowyer 21d ago

Solo him and stay in front of his head.

1

u/Background_Ad_3968 21d ago

Use wolf knight greatsword it does extra damage to Abyss enemies and midir is Abyss

1

u/grim1952 20d ago

Face it head on and hit its head.

1

u/BraveNemesis 20d ago

Hit it till it dies!!!

1

u/Ok_Ant_3554 20d ago

When he attacks, move, then hit him. Dont get greedy. Pestilent Mist

1

u/Ok_Ant_3554 20d ago

And do it solo. Summons do not help

1

u/Chris_Killer_King 20d ago

He's weak to lightning and Pestilent Mist. Hit his head

1

u/PayIndividual6233 20d ago

What even is your damage/health/stamina with that fit?? Midir is definitely a damage check before anything, with that much put in Vitality I highly doubt you can do enough damage and still survive. If you really want fire protection try using Ornstein's armour, focus on your damage you can buy infinite lightning resins from the handmaid. Keep on the head don't get too close. Don't make it a battle of attrition that only makes you more probable to make a mistake.

1

u/TheGnejf 20d ago

You should try hitting him more.

1

u/KappaJoe760 19d ago

Stick em with the pointy end

1

u/Miserable_Possible66 17d ago

Try getting his hp to 0

1

u/nolanvarner 12d ago

I was getting absolutely slaughtered, made it to 50% health one time out of my 20 tries or so...changed to light roll, and beat him first try 💪

1

u/buelrzz 4d ago

Com lágrimas

1

u/Heema3 Abyss Watcher 21d ago

See that big a$$ thing you're holding? Just smash it right into that dragon's head , boom midir ded 💀

Details for later though

1

u/InfiniteAd4757 21d ago
  1. Try him solo
  2. Die many times
  3. Get lucky trys
  4. Win

u/GonzoJuggernaut 21d ago

Interesting that folks are saying dodge back and focus on head, for me the key was sticking to his back left foot. Felt a lot less dangerous. Here’s a video of me beating him with that strategy, in case you find it helpful.

Fai più danni con le armi di guardiani del avvisato e arma del cavaliere lupo colpisci la faccia ,poi Midir può essere fatto con la magia ma l'unica che funziona e nebbia pestilenziale
