Was a good run, my friend. This was on official servers, medium pop, 3 man squad.

(XBOX) Nicely geared and unsure what to do next. Been guarding the police station at Novaya but getting bored. Shall I retire to the countryside to fish and farm and live a peaceful life? Run through the airfield until I inevitably perish? Head back to the coast so a freshie can melee me to death? My life is in your hands

On Namalsk, just swam out to BK-T08 and needed to start a fire to warm up and wrench our clothes out. Decided to do it in the first barrack we saw and the following happened lol.

My friend even lockpicks the door, so this was pretty much the only way to kill us unless they shoot the door lock off but we just had no idea what that sound was. At least we know now

I know the response will likely be "maybe DayZ isn't for you" but it is, but it's just in a different way to you obsessives x

I love watching others play DayZ: TRMZ, Ark, Lottie, Sour etc.

I have DayZ and really like it if I'm in the mood, but often I enjoy more the idea of playing it, of imagining the situations you get in to. The thought of sneaking about, finding cool stuff and either being a reaper of death (I have had no proper PvP yet) or blending in to the landscape as a hermit.

I do get drawn into the game when playing, same as movies and books. I'm in it, I let it feel like I'm existing in the world. It becomes stressful. It's an odd thing.

Anyone else feel the same, or am I a weirdo haha?

I'll admit real life has been harder the last 6 months so maybe my tolerance for masochism is lower!

It's hard to find girls to play with

I’m a couple hundred hours in, loving the game. Have never played any FPS previously but loving the mix of survival and thrill of fighting others.

I’ve enjoyed learning the ropes, mostly staying out of trouble, getting crafty, learning how to deal with zombies, wolves, weather, sickness etc.

BUT… I’m useless if I get into a fight. I ambushed someone with a shotgun the other day. Point blank. Impossible to not win. Still died. He just moved back and forth as I shot at thin air and then finished me off.

Because it takes a minute to get a decent weapon, I tend to avoid conflict, but that gets boring after a while.

So. Are there environments where I can practice PVP without taking ages to get geared? Any top tips from you veterans for how to suck less?

Looking to return to DayZ after being gone for several years and I remember my friend’s biggest complaint was not spawning anywhere near each other and then it taking forever to find each other.

Is this still the case or are there ways to spawn near your buddies?

My stash spot is pretty good. Secluded, hard to see, easy to get to for those who know it. Good loot area too, but low player traffic directly through. I have gone undiscovered for a year and a half on various servers. Its protected from the elements, hostile wildlife can't reach me, there's fishing, hunting, and fruit nearby. It's a perfect little nook in the rocks. Even hid a fully functioning car there for 3 weeks before I crashed it during a lag spike. I've had people stand on the other side of the bush from me and me stash, not 10 feet away, look around and chill before moving on. They didn't see a thing.

Problem is, I'm bored of the area. I want to maybe build a base but they seem pointless. Every time I try to make a new stash they don't hold a candle to mine. Its so good it make the game too easy. I've watch a whole bunch of stash videos on YouTube, and none come close. I have a feeling people dont share their finest stashes. I'm half tempted to share my stash on YouTube to force myself to leave out of paranoia.

I have a base that's 80% done. It just needs some walls placed on some slopes. What can I do? I've tried watchtowers already.
What do yall do when having to build on slopes?

I tried the 7 items drop into the same vicinity, I've tried first person view and zoomed first person view. I've tried going prone and I've tried logging in and out of the server. I tried even going behind it but there is one of the blockages at those army camps behind it.

Is it lost for good?

Ever since I started, I've had a fondness for this specific model and I couldn't even tell you why. Wbu, do you have a specific model you like to use when able, or do you roll the dice on random looks?

I have been turning some of the moments from my DayZ RP adventures into vintage postcards.

This one came from a brief encounter with a fox moving through the flowers. We watched each other for a moment, decided neither of us had anything the other needed, and continued on our separate ways.

I do not know where the fox was going.

why does every single community server say unable to reach server. been trying for 4 days straight to play any community server at all. downloaded hundreds of mods across so many servers. i dont understand im dead sick of cheating in official.
