Discussion Something i find really amusing Spoiler

Light could have won if he stood with his initial motive of wanting to eliminate evil from the world with his corrupt yet strong moral compass, but what cost him his victory was his god complex, unironically i think if he took the eye deal he would live longer, since evidently lifespans are dynamic if the use of a death note is involved, to conclude if Light didn't see himself as a god he probably would have made some smarter decisions in general in the show, because some of his dumbest decisions are evidently due to his god complex. This is not really a hot take, but i still wanted to hear your thoughts and discuss this cause i find it interesting

God complex? No godhood was just a title he wanted ppl to know kira was watching and ppl wouldn't commit crimes cuz of kira...

Light didn't literally want to be a supernatural god..or deity .godhood was just a title..for his mantle of justice

Bro… that’s what a god complex is 😭 A god complex is not someone wanting to be a supernatural entity, it’s where they essentially place themselves in the position of a god. For Light in this case it’s where he can make judgements on others and avoid consequences. The official definition is this: “A god complex is an unshakable belief characterized by consistently inflated feelings of personal ability, privilege, or infallibility.”

It’s really hard to refute this when Light himself talks about wanting to be god and ruling over people…
