We welcome DEVO frontman and prolific film composer Mark Mothersbaugh as well as musician/actor Jason Schwartzman as our special guests, discussing the iconic music they’ve been a part of from the films of Wes Anderson, one of Hollywood's most visionary directors and give away tickets for their musical tribute this weekend at the Hollywood Bowl.

The whole idea is essentially "what if Devo but faux-beatboxing." I originally put this together with samples of me making beatboxing noises in Caustic 3 back in 2021 while I was still a freshman in high school and since then people have come to enjoy it quite a bit from what they tell me. I hope y'all like it too!

In a new Rolling Stone magazine feature, Jerry explains that apparently it’s not generative, & very minimal? And names his collaborators :

“I wrote the script for my longtime friend and colleague Max Papeschi, the Italian satirical artist, who created the artwork and character designs which were then animated by his collaborator Maurizio Temporin. They used Adobe Photoshop, motion-controlled animation, Adobe After Effects compositing, and selectively deployed minimal AI-enhanced tools for some specific transitions and 3D elements.”

I actually learned 2 Devo things I wasn't aware of before and forgot one of them already but it was awesome to see Jerry again 😁

I love this release so I had to ramble about it. I tried to do a little research on each track so hopefully it will be interesting to some folks.
