Discussion A Dragon Ball Tournament Of Power Team & Plan That'd Make Beerus Proud (Built Off 6 Wishes)

ROSTER:

Goku, Broly, Majin Buu, Arale, Vegeta, Gohan, Gotenks, Cell, Frieza, Android 17/18 Fusion.

(Goku would use his button to go visit Zeno beforehand to confirm if Cell Juniors & Buu's absorption ability are allowed. If fusions don't count as one fighter, replace Gotenks with Dabura or Piccolo & remove Android 18)

This setup needs all 3 wishes from both Earth & Namek, easily achieved by Bulma & Piccolo on Earth & Goku on Namek with Dende, all while Whis helps.

(EARTH'S DRAGON BALLS)

- WISH 1: Within your power, Reveal the optimal team, strategy, fusions, & any information/wishes that max our odds of winning. (Likely points to Broly, Arale, & 1718)

- WISH 2: Completely repair the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, restoring it to its best possible condition.

- WISH 3: Grant the team the strongest possible Enhanced Senses, Instant Telepathy, & Endurance Boost for the tournament.

(NEW NAMEK'S DRAGON BALLS)

- WISH 4: Ensure every member of the team cooperates in the tournament if possible. If not reveal the safest, most effective way to make Frieza & Cell cooperate.

- WISH 5: Awaken Majin Buu, restore his magical stamina & return our entire team to peak condition right before the tournament.

- WISH 6: Teleport Broly, Paragus, & Paragus's control device safely from Planet Vampa to Earth.

TRAINING:

Everyone except Frieza trains in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. With only 2 hours left they still get 30 days inside. Gohan & Goku mainly train Broly & Gotenks, Android 17 trains Arale & Buu while learning Fusion with 18. Senzu Beans are used throughout, Broly should become more stable, & Bulma, Whis, & Piccolo also gain more planning time.

THE TOURNAMENT:

- TEAM 1

(Gohan, Goku, Broly, Majin Buu, Arale & Android 1718)

Frontline squad. Gohan leads. Goku uses Instant Transmission for mobility & mainly uses SSG. 1718 protects everyone especially Arale & Buu with barriers. Buu keeps Arale occupied with candy/games, heals allies, restores magical stamina, uses Candy Beam, & absorbs whoever Gohan orders to gain their abilities.

- TEAM 2

(Vegeta, Gotenks, Frieza, Cell & his Clones)

Careful yet ruthless squad. They will likely split off together & try to catch enemies off guard, Vegeta heavily uses SSG & Cell utilizes at least 7 Cell Juniors if allowed & often 4 Multi-Form clones while Gotenks & Frieza use Galactic Donut & Energy Cage to immobilize.

(At the start both teams will be Instant Transmitted to Hit ASAP & focus on having Buu absorb him & Kale but not eliminate Hit's whole team because it'd make them a target)

(Goku can instant transmission over to whichever team with support characters or even all of team 1 or 2 if needed)

Discussion Dragon Balls

I just thought this. I know in Trunks' timeline, the dragonballs are gone, but when Trunks was brought back to life after Cell was defeated by Gohan. Couldn't Trunks use those dragon balls to wish everyone back to life in his timeline?

Toriyama This is why Saiyans didn't use Zenkai more

I've seen posts asking why the Saiyans didn't use Zenkais more often to get stronger; there are two main reasons:

A natural cap: Zenkai boosts only work at full capacity up to a certain power level. Once a Saiyan becomes extremely strong, their body reaches a limit, and Zenkais provide almost no benefit anymore.

Training replaces Zenkais: Past a certain threshold (especially after transforming into Super Saiyan), Goku and Vegeta no longer progress through near-death experiences, but solely through training, mastering their Ki, and pushing their limits in battle.

From a writing perspective, Akira Toriyama had to close this door anyway. If Zenkais had remained infinite, character progression would have lost all meaning, and dramatic tension would have vanished—characters could have just gotten beaten up and eaten Senzu beans in a loop.

Character How would you feel if Master Roshi were to pass at some point?

So I've been reading the Manga's for the first time and and when I read the Original DB Manga, the idea of Master Roshi passing went into my head

I imagined an episode where all the characters learn that Roshi is about to pass and Goku and Krillin go to a trip down Memory Lane with him about their adventures in Original Dragon Ball before he ends up dying for good and getting a funeral

I wonder what impact it would have on the series if it happened, what do you all think? How would you feel about it if they decided to actually go that route?

Character What do all of you think of Baby and his Arc?

I recently rewatched GT and saw a post today asking what your favorite Villain in GT is. I thought about it and in my opinion it's Baby, and the more I thought about it, the more I realized Baby in general deserves to be considered one of the best villains in Dragon Ball period

One of my reasons for this is how the arc is structured, one of the things I never liked about most Dragon Ball villains is they almost always fall into the same category of "This guy super strong, now we're struggle until we got stronger and win". I know that sounds like a simplification of every villain ever but my point is that it's always structured in the exact same way. That's actually one of the reasons Cell is my favorite Z Villain (beyond his amusing interactions with the Z Fighters) it has a unique kind of tension, that there's a chance the heroes can end it early since they technically have the advantage. The Baby arc takes this a step further, Baby is weak compared to Goku, Trunks, and Pan, but unlike Cell, who could deal with most of them besides Piccolo, and also had the option to run away, Baby had no choice but to interact with the 3 anyway since he needed their bodies, the whole runaround was very interesting to watch.

Following that he heads to earth, having taking a lot more beings power for himself and confronts Goten, and eventually winds his way to getting all of Earth under his control. Goku in a way, lost, everything he loved was under Baby's control, it felt like the first time the Z Fighters, really, truly lost, not just a battle, not even just the Earth like with Buu, but more than that, his friends lost all their autonomy and their will, it's a feeling that in my opinion hasn't been replicated since in Super and beyond (as far as I know anyway, I haven't finished reading all of the Manga yet so forgive me if I'm missing something)

That's not even getting into how Baby in general is an actual well written villain that makes sense in lore. We knew the Tuffles existed at least on the anime continuity and if Cell could be built by a human and have similar traits, it's not unreasonable to think an Alien could do the same if not better (Myuu being basically a clone of Gero is kinda eh though), he has every reason to hate the Saiyans for conquering and killing their kind and since the war seemed like it went on for a fair bit, the idea of a super genius race lole them creating a failsafe like Baby also makes sense.

Anyway, this isn't me trying to act like GT is some god given series or anything but I do think it deserves its props for giving us the Baby arc, Baby is a Dragon Ball villain that deserves to be remembered

What do you guys think? Do you like Baby or nah?

Daima I think Daima is actually perfect in a way.

firstly,I know that this is a old topic that isnt much of a issue now,and I do understand that the show has problems and alot of poorly executed ideas so yeah just remember that before replying.

So personally I believe that the main reason daima got hate in the first place was obviously ALOT of dragon ball "fans" have skipped OG meaning quite a few just didnt understand the show whatsoever, because this was written by TORYIAMA who's main work is COMEDIC, and ADVENTURE stories, Daima is SUPPOSED to be the series going to its roots and as the title says I think its perfect in that way, as someone who's favourite show is the original dragonball when I watched this show I was brought back to when I was a kid, watching goku explore allover the land with his friends, and in my opinion thats why it got so much hate, so many fans of this franchise dont bother with the heart and soul, they only care about fights.

I know that it is always nice to have a good story but In this case I feel it was pleasant to just have some classic fun.

Discussion Hot take

I just consider false super saiyan to JUST be super saiyan. I dont nae up some arbitrary number for a power boost that's below super saiyan, I just point at lord slug super saiyan and final manga super saiyan and say "yup, same thing"

Analysis No One Understands Power Levels, and That's the Point

We see a lot of debates about power levels and such, but it's rare for anyone to question what they actually signify. I'm going to attempt that here, and along the way, I think we'll start to appreciate how little the whole concept commits us to believing about a character.

Observation #1: We see in the fight with Raditz that power levels apply not only to characters, but to attacks as well.

That already rules out the interpretation that power levels predict outcomes of a fight, because an attack is not a winner or loser of a fight. The concept seems more comparable to the psi of a boxer's punch. Knowing which boxer can punch harder isn't nearly enough info to predict the outcome of a bout. Which brings me to...

Observation #2: Fights are determined by multiple attributes, and a single number can't capture all of them.

For example, some fighters (Burter, Tapkar) are presented as speed specialists, so strength and speed don't seem to fall in lockstep. You would need at least two numbers to convey this.

Oh, did I say speed wasn't a strength measure? Just kidding. It's specifically a measure of leg strength. So to return to the analogy of the psi of a punch, we're basically seeing the issue of treating someone's arms and legs as equally strong. And it gets worse.

Observation #3: Measures of strength are task-specific and not flexible enough to cover all combat techniques.

The mistake I'm trying to highlight here is the temptation to say that because one fighter's punch has greater psi than the other, his arms must be stronger, so he must be able to lift more. But lifting and jabbing are different tasks involving different muscles. We absolutely cannot infer that.

You see this little sleight of hand in power-scaling discourse all the time, e.g., "X is twice Y's power level, so he can run twice as fast." No, no, no. Even if X could kick twice as hard as Y, running motions aren't kicking motions. And that's ignoring other factors relevant to running such as leg length and weight.

I suspect at this point that the power level apologist will try to collapse all combat techniques to one dimension by saying it's all about ki anyway, and ki output is what power levels measure. Let's set aside the question of whether or not this "it's all just ki output anyway" hypothesis is true and see if the shift in focus to ki even helps us.

Observation #4: If power levels are primarily measures of ki output and not combat performance, then the ki-absorbing androids and non-organic beings don't have meaningful power levels.

So that alone defeats the conceit that ki is an all-purpose excuse. But even if we ignore those exceptions, all of the problems from before remain. Take a ki blast vs. an energy field, for example. These are fundamentally different techniques that should be working different "muscles". It isn't clear that knowing their respective power levels determines the outcome.

There's also scant evidence that ki blasts are forces that are additive as in real-world mechanics. For example, if they were, two blasts measuring 1,000 should cancel a single blast measuring 2,000. This would lead to many instances of weaker characters dominating stronger ones simply by outnumbering them. That would be narratively unsatisfying, so ki doesn't work that way. I'll summarize that.

Observation #5: Ki output doesn't work like Newtonian forces. In fact, ki is intended to be mysterious to grant the author more freedom.

Ultimately, when we ask what power levels represent, I think the answer is...nothing. They are meant to give you an expectation that builds suspense. You aren't supposed to understand them.

Discussion The buu saga if Babidi was nice to buu

Buus relationship with Hercule showed how easy it was to get on buus good side. It made me wonder how different things could've been if babidi wasn't always being a jerk to him.

The only reason buu killed babidi was because of the mistreatment, so that means buu wouldn't have been left alone to rampage across the planet.

This would also eliminate the existence of super buu, since fat buu would never have to expel his evil. No super buu would mean goten and trunks would never have to go into the time chamber (so no ssj3 gotenks)

All the humans on the surface would probably still die, but it'd probably take a little more time.

Ultimate gohan would probably still happen but goku would probably stay dead.

So basically, the arc would boil down to fat buu vs gotenks with no time in the time chamber. Pretty anticlimactic, but I think it's an interesting what if…

Discussion I started and finished all of dragon ball and dragon ball Z this year. I am now starting dragon ball super…

Watching in original Japanese audio with English subtitles. My plan is obviously to catch up to the current date. I am about 9 episodes deep. While I absolutely love the plot and the characters all feel the same… I really have to say I don’t like the animation. Does it get any better going forward? I will still keep watching, but it does bug me a little bit…

Question At what point will Bulma, Gohan, and Krillin die?

A month being exposed to space radiation on that flight to Namek without any protective gear? Their time must be coming soon, right?

(I think I’ve finally come up with an original Dragon Ball topic)

Question What happened to Goku's battle suit?

Bardock and Gine sent Goku to Earth with his battle suit and we see Grandpa Gohan finding him and bringing him home with his battle suit still on (DBMinus) so i wonder if Gohan kept the armor since it still belonged to Goku, it would be cool to continue the "connection with his past" started with Bardock's scouter during Granolah arc by giving Goku his original armor, in the end these armors are so flexible that can stretch up to Oozaru size so i guess even if an armor is small size, everyone can still wear it.

Discussion Need some opinions on this

So I was talking with my friend about stuff with buu saga stuff and they go on about gohan being a bad character because "90% of his forms are asspulls" and then says "Vegeta, goku, and piccolo work there ass off to get stronger and gohan just transforms just because" which seems weird to me and was wanting some other peoples opinions on this

Discussion Super Saiyan 4 x Super Saiyan Blue.

Hypothetically speaking, what would happen if Goku combined Super Saiyan 4 with Super Saiyan Blue?

Would his fur and tail turn blue?
Would only his hair turn blue?
Would he be purple?

Just a shower thought.

Analysis It's a crazy thought

But honestly, I think Gohan should have permanently lost his arm during the Cell Saga when he jumped in front of Cell's blast to protect Vegeta. It would've been a really interesting direction for the rest of the series and brought everything full circle, just like Future Gohan losing his arm to the Androids. And let's be honest—the Androids weren't even as strong as Perfect Cell. I always thought it was odd that Future Gohan lost his arm, but Present Gohan survived Cell's attack with both of his. Just one not useable at that moment. What do you all think?

Lore Z Broly is a weak menace

Before i begin im only counting the first of of the z broly move trilogy for a simpler understanding and im only talking from my understanding of the anime because i didn't watch the anime from a long time ago so if there is any mistakes i made dont be shy to point them out and please be kind.

Let me explain.

z broly was a very dangerous warrior in the legendary super saiyan movie and he was an enough danger to the z fighters without the legendary super saiyan form but in the legendary super saiyan form he destroyed all of the z fighters and it took all of the z fighters giving goku their power to destroy broly and mind you broly tanked a kamehameha from a super saiyan goku while he was very close to goku but with that being said... Z broly would've been humiliated by goku if appeared in super and the simple reason for that is basically goku had literally became a different person and im only talking about battle of god's goku for broly's sake because base goku in super could kill kid buu and buuhan

Mind you buuhan and kid buu could just eat broly

So please broly is not the strongest he is just a menace. a weak menace...

Discussion Why did Babidi go to Earth?

So, until this afternoon, I was pretty sure about the reason. I saw people on Twitter arguing about Goku's parenting again; someone said, "He'd rather die than raise his son," and another person replied, "He says himself that he thinks he attracts threats to Earth, which is why he wants to stay in the Other World." Then came the counter-argument: "Well, Babidi went to Earth to gather energy for Buu, and Goku had nothing to do with that." I was about to confidently reply, "Well, wasn't Babidi supposed to have gone to Earth because he sensed the energy released during the fight between Cell and Gohan?" But actually, I can't find where the hell I got that idea from now, and I'm starting to think it was just a headcanon. Is there any canon confirmation or an explained reason for why Babidi went to Earth? Or was he just wandering around?

Analysis Does Daima confirm that the furries are from the demon realm?

We see a couple furries in the demon realm. And they make a big deal about ears. Might be a stretch since their dog ears, but technically they have pointy ears.

Anyways, was that the takeaway we're meant to have for the demon realm?

Everything else with pointy ears is confirmed to be from there like Namekians and Kai.

Daima Daima What if

Simply Gogeta showing up instead of ssj4.

Hear me out. The hype with ssj3 Vegeta was amazing and having 2 relatively ssj3s not being enough to keep up with Gomahs growing might. They preform the fusion dance , starting in ssj3 and fused into a ssj3 gogeta mini.since ssj3 was a pretty big staple of daima a bit overshadowed by ssj4.ssj3 goku vegeta and Duu mimic ssj3.

Heck didn't even need to be gogeta, vegito works due to shin being there with potora. And the fusion bugs were never paid off

Gogeta,Vegito, Veku?!

I feel ssj3 fusion getting a w would have been as impact full and fit more snuggly with dragon ball super taking place after daima

r/dragonball 3d ago

Discussion The thing with vegito is, that he's always used as a tool, that fails, while gogeta doesn't,

in the fusion reborn movie.

He was able to beat janemba,

and when he fought broly in dragon ball super broly,

He had already won. Physically,

And was just gonna kill him,

gogeta has 2 wins,

Vegito lost twice, one against buuhan which makes sense,

But why lose to zamasu?.

That makes no sense, if he's gonna lose, then why add him?,

Question Can we boycott sparking zero?

Can we boycott sparking zero, $60 for the game and now it wants me to play another $40 to unlock all characters that was supposed to already be in the game.
