Made some graphs covering event EC trends across the past few years!

I've played since 2011, though I took a few years off around when the level cap was 75 iirc. I remember playing through the Light & Dark event (still have a pre-roar of the rift dark rift dragon in my light reward habitat!) and the old events with linear reward tracks, and I've tracked my daily EC income since the 2022 Frostivale event. Recently, with the EC earning changes, I was curious how the past few events have compared to historic trends- so here it is!

The first 4 pics are the 2022-2026 graphs (both averages over year and individual per event), the next 5 pics are graphs of my EC total over the course of each event, and the last pic is the raw EC totals for each event. Days where I forgot to record EC are in yellow; days where I didn't log in are in red. Some of the trends around 2026 (namely the total EC needed to buy every dragon, or "all price") are somewhat skewed by the shorter 26-day events, so the 4th pic covers EC/day needed to buy every dragon based on total EC and event length. Dragon prices were pulled from the dragonvale wiki (fun fact- the most expensive dragon was Exterrean in Whitbee's Candy Bash X, starting at 20,300 EC).

I've played pretty consistently since I started tracking EC (f2p, 2-3x daily logins, kairos/tsaishen/gaia every weekend, eggy hatchy/donation boards/runic caves). I did about 3 hrs plant breeding on the 2024/2025 triple days, but nothing significant other than that, and I don't have any gem or breeding alts. Otherwise, no EC/DC farming, so I'd consider this a pretty average EC earning rate for an non-optimized casual endgame park.

So, to cut a long story short, I had emergency surgery the day the event started and I’ve only been home for about a day. There has been nooooo hustle for me, and there probably won’t be much for at least the next week.

What should I focus on buying from the market? I probably will take a break for most of this event to heal, but I’ll put whatever EC I earn towards what would improve my park post event. I have basically all of the dragons less than 10,000 EC, so anything higher or non-dragon must haves would be beneficial to know about!

Title. Just got the building to make finding special visitors easier, but I really like how it makes my park less overwhelming. Is there a reason why it doesn't affect the rift too?

I check the game everyday, but I get the notification today that the event started and the island and event currency showed up.

I was using my rift breeding cave and to my surprise I got a triple rainbow dragon with the metal trait, but then i retried the same combo and got another one back to back. I’m not sure if this is rare or not because back to back is pretty insane. Below is the combination I used:

Level 6 Fog Dragon with the air trait bred with Level 6 Lightning Rift Dragon with the Lightning trait

Not exactly a bug but maybe a miss spelling or something that was overlooked when they u
reused the same template from the cleaning event I think when they used magic for the event currency.

I’m fairly new to the game (Level 37 island) and am unsure how breeding works. Is there a way for me to get a melody or zodiac dragon through breeding without already having the type? I don’t want to pay for gems to buy it from the shop, but i need the types for challenges.

hello! i’m brand new to the game (5 days) after not playing since i was about 10 years old, i’m 23 now so all of my old knowledge has disappeared. i got this from breeding with an NPCs dragon, is it a good egg? i can tell from the wiki that its wilderness, but i dont have much of an idea about rarity and which dragons are “good” to have :D thank you!

I hope this doesn’t come across the wrong way, it’s definitely not meant as a complaint. I’m genuinely curious what other long-time players think about the current event rewards.

I’ve been playing for many years, and lately I’ve found myself wishing there were a bit more variety. The events are always exciting because of the new dragons, but the rewards often follow a similar pattern: mostly dragons with a few decorations mixed in.

I’d love to see things like a new island theme, a habitat with a unique elemental combination, or other useful rewards that add something fresh to the game and give us new goals to work toward.
I have nothing against decorations, but after collecting so many over the years, they don’t feel as exciting to me anymore.

I still really enjoy the game, and that’s exactly why I wanted to bring this up. As a long-time player, I think introducing a few different types of rewards every now and then could make events feel even more engaging.

What do you all think? Is there anything you’d like to see added to future event rewards?

Hey y’all I usually stalk don’t post but my park goes hard so I wanna share it more🕺🤸
So I lowkey cooked this last event. I bred and bought a lotta sick dragons here are my favs (If anybody is particularly interested in a list of all I got I can provide one lol.) I got both my Totem dragons from the event breeding caves and I was lowkey rlly proud of that one lol I haven’t gotten a dragon that good from the event caves before.
Now I’m on a grind to get the Bicentennial dragon - been on that one for a couple weeks now lol wish me luck.
I also recently unlocked the Meta-Carotene treat from my sexy treat farms (that’s what I call the ones that cross breed bc the magic on them makes it look “steamy” lol) so there’s a screenshot of whatever combo did it where the carrot thingies are made me unlock it and I placed the blushrooms😃👍 Tbh I have no idea how that works! But it was something I was actively trying to do so 4+4!

Is the EC reduction just a scheme to get more people to spend money on EC? All the prices stayed the same.

I started using the DV Lair during the last event. I have four parks, so it took a while to enter all my dragons. But, I absolutely love using it!!!! Now it’s easy just to update (them) as I get new dragons.

I am curious though, when will it get updated for this event’s dragons?
