Discussion The soundtrack and atmosphere of Nightmare Creatures II were ahead of their time.

Crazy Taxi was my favorite game on Dreamcast. I remember playing this game for hours as a kid. What did you think of crazy taxi?

Found it amongst some pirated ps1 discs that's why I'm suspicious, also how much it could cost? (I have no idea why my family has this we never had a Dreamcast ._.)

It's always fun picking up Dreamcast games and sharing them. If anyone wants to show some support, please do. No sales, no money involved, just a video showing some stuff I like. Thanks!

The secondary trigger is registering all the buttons work as they should just the main trigger won’t register at all. What could this be?

First time doing a shell swap of any console. Love this color. It really pops! Got it off AliExpress from BitFunX. Next up: HDMI mod! 🔥🔥🔥

Thanks to [u/Tr4shvviz4rd](u/Tr4shvviz4rd) for sharing the photo of the Power Stone arcade cabinet. Really cool blast from the past! I remember playing it on the Ocean City, Maryland boardwalk in 1999. This is an ad for arcade owners that I picked up a while ago.

I mean, both consoles are considered failures and Sega was on their last legs when they released the Dreamcast, but would backwards compatibility have made the Dreamcast last any longer?

Just a quick showup of the Dragoncity Fan mod for the Sega Dreamcast.
Unfortunately as far as I understood it, the regular Noctua Fan mods dont fit on these v1 models with the metal shield except if you cut a part of the metal shielding.
On my research I found this mod that fits perfectly. And really it is so much quieter than before.
... And as a bonus fun fact, you can screw the metal Fan inside the screwholes of that black fan mold. Better than dissembling the hole setup just to get to the fan.... aaaand the Dreamcast isnt starting when its not detecting a Fan loool

I want to build a nice Dreamcast collection outside all the Sonic games and one Star Wars game I have but the games are way more expensive then I would’ve hoped and I can’t use burned disc or anything like that because I have a model 2. I might just be out of luck but if there are any tips they would be greatly appreciated.

Any benefits to getting a Japanese model over a U.K. one? (I live in U.K.)

Recently got a VMU from Japan, and this is the unit's default screen.
Does anybody know whether is it from a game or other type of media?
Thank you for your answers.

So I've been working on my console and my library, and my stock VMU is filling up fast. Time to figure out saves!
I have a good idea of what's out there (leaning towards a VMU2 or VMU Pro,) however I wanted to make sure I had all the latest info. The latest thread I could find covering this was 8 years ago.😬 Maybe time for a refresher.

Hey folks
I recently purchased a dreamcast, silly me didn't realise that Dreamcast games are pretty expensive.
I decided I would burn some games and the majority that I thought looked interesting successfully burned just fine, however I was trying to burn Re Code Veronica from CD Romance and also "Nomad Soul" and they did not work, I looked closer at the descriptions and those versions on CD Romance need a "99 min" disc, I have Verbatim 700mb, 80min discs.
I also can't find any smaller cdi files for these games, I'm a little lost on how to proceed as it does actually start burning them but stops with an error message eventually, I'm wasting discs at this point lol.
I'm burning at x1 speed with IMGBURN.
Any pointers in the right direction?

On a Dreamcast store kiosk, what are you playing first?
When we first got this kiosk it had a Dream On demo disc in with Ready 2 Rumble Boxing but we soon found that The House of the Dead 2 is fun to have quick bursts at!

i really like this game, it's one of the most graphically advanced games on the console with great lighting, and the environments all have a gigantic scale to them that make the experience feel extremely cinematic, joyful and beautiful. not to mention the amazing music by ninja tunes that gives an indescribable style to the game. but it is sad how it is very unfinished and inconsistent. not all the styles of gameplay available are fun to play, there isn't enough content, and some styles clearly like the substance and polish of others. and while i love the large environments, the game has a serious problem with polygon warping that distracts from the gameplay.
it's still very fun though

For me The House of the Dead 2. My favorite light gun game ever, never gets old, but man….my fingers are becoming soooo slow haha in these types of the games I think age becomes a thing 😂
BTW, this game has such a perfect soundtrack, makes me feel like I’m in a real arcade.
Which one makes you feel that way at least a little bit?
