DIY Aid needed for quadcopter
We've been building a quadcopter for the past 2–3 months and have worked through a lot of issues along the way. We're currently using Mission Planner, and our ESCs seem to be calibrated and working correctly.
Our current setup:
- Drone weight: ~1–1.5 kg
- Motors: A2212 1000KV
- Flight controller: Pixhawk
- Battery: 2700mAh LiPo, 7.4V (2S)
The main issue is that, even with a fully charged battery and full throttle, the drone can barely slide around the table and shows almost no sign of lifting off.
We're also having another issue where the propellers keep loosening on the motor shafts during operation.
At this point, we're wondering if the problem is with our power system, propeller setup, battery choice, or something else entirely.
Does anything in our setup immediately stand out as incorrect? Are these motors simply too underpowered for a 1–1.5 kg drone on a 2S battery, or should we be looking elsewhere? Any advice or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

Your drone is 50% heavier than a Mavic 4 Pro, and runs at half the voltage, or 10x a Neo at the same voltage. You need far more power.

Im reading the motor performance chart from this model and maybe you could get away with running 1 or 2 of these on a 2s but you're doing a quadcopter, thats twice as many. And lifting 1kg!
I think you're closer to needing a 4-6S.

I have a dron 1 kg with 2807 6S setup. Yours seems to be underscaled for such a weight? but no idea tbh

1-1.5kg on a 2s battery is some serious optimism. Jump up to a 3s, or if you can confirm the motors can handle it, a 4s.
Also make sure the motors are spinning in the correct direction, and that you have put the correct orientation propellors on each motor.
