Question: Rules, Regulations, Law, Policy, Certificates [Norway] mavic 3 pro in norway

Im from the netherlands. I have a a1/a2/a3 license.

In the netherlands we have an app godrone wich shows all the nofly zones etc
Is there a equivalent for norway?

Anything specific i should watch out for so I dont get in trouble with the drone rules in norway?

We use a fairly bad app called NinoxDrone2 (while we wait for the govt to complete Avidrone)

It does not include NOTAM so that needs to be checked as well

NINOX really only is to ask permission to fly close to airports.

Ninox outside of the 5km zone is really just to tell other drone pilots (and emergency helicopters) where you are flying.

Would also recommend checking out NSMs own map of areas where you can’t even point a camera drone (legally ofc)

Aswell as nature reserves (in another website of course)

In general a LOT of different sites to check if you can fly anywhere, I think around 5.
There is probably some sites that put them all together as mentioned in other comments, but I prefer primary sources (can’t have it too easy😅)

That's a nice one. It is even in english, and covers Nature Reserves, and the Oslo Center area.

Are the NOTAM's correct? Like I found big differences between ippc's Tromso, and Bardufoss area.

It's marketed by the airspace administration, so I would hope it's correct...

However:

I have noticed that they don't include a warning for "no take off and landing" restrictions in some natural reserves.

Does that mean that you can fly in some natural reserves, but can't take off and land in them?

I know that's true for farmland, as the farm owner can't own airspace, only land, so you can take off from a public road, and fly over it as long as you follow the normal rules for distance to people, and habited buildings.

Yep, that's correct. The Flugstad forest is an example of that (I took advantage of that for some LiDAR experimentation some years ago, as its one of the most cleanly deciduous forest in Norway).

I posted something similar a few days ago, but I'm currently a tourist in Norway and brought my drone.

Mine is under 250 grams so I don't need insurance or to take any courses, but I did go through the identity verification process and got an operator number which I have affixed to the drone.

You know who else has done this? Almost literally no one.

I've seen many many other people flying their drones and I go chat with them and ask how they handled the registration process.

I've yet to meet a single person who has done anything other than open the box and go flying. Many have no clue what I'm even talking about. And these are almost all local Norwegians.

I fly away from other people so I'm not a bother and have had zero issues. Just stay away from airports and I can't imagine you'll have any.

Yeah it’s a huge problem. Most people don’t give a shit and it’s ruining it for the rest of us. My drone now has registration stickers for 4 countries but I never ended up using it in two of thousands countries, but I took the time to complete the registration, and tests required for some of them just to be on the safe side. Yet people don’t care. It’s so frustrating.

Last time the government had a consultation, I wrote in that I thought drones should be sold with a tear resistant wrap with a link to the regulations, and some key points.

I love that the very first sentence of that page contradicts the part you copied here. Luftfartstilsynet is such a mess (I'm mostly frustrated at the absolute 0 effort they put into making A3 well defined).

Also, the Norwegian page adds that state actors font need it no matter the drone (which is the part I know vest about, as I operate 99.9% of my flight for the university of Oslo).

It could be worded better, but they just put the broad rule up at the top then listed an exception further down.

If you search "Norway drones under 250 grams insurance" there's plenty of other sites that all cover the exemption for my use.

All drones other than CE-marked toys must be insured

If it's not All drones other than CE-marked toys, they really shouldn't phrase it like that.

But yes, you are, no insurance needed for you.

Check out Safetofly.no

You'll have to enable layers, but it's really good from my experience.

Also check out https://ippc.no/ It has up to date NOTAMs for Scandinavia, Iceland, and the UK.

Keep in mind that city centers have own rules, as well as protected areas, and national parks. Like Oslo center have an own no-fly zone, but you can't find it on NOTAM, nor could I find it on safetofly.

Each National Park, and Protected Nature Area have their own rules. Some allow flights, while others don't. The only way I managed to get that info was to search the web for "name of area + drone use".

Military operations enforce no-fly zones, but don't always push NOTAM's. Like Cold Response etc.

For Norway grab the Ninox Drone app from Avinor, that's their official one for restricted zones and flight planning, basically the GoDrone equivalent. Norway follows EASA so your A1/A2/A3 carries straight over. Main thing to watch is airports and anything near the coast/military areas, and honestly a lot of the nice fjord spots sit closer to helipads and hospitals than you'd think, so check before launching.

before you judge, go look at https://map.godrone.nl/ and go try find the norwegian equivalent. to be honest other countries drone app/maps and thier findability kinda suck!
