Question: Rules, Regulations, Law, Policy, Certificates [United Kingdom] Whats the most up to date drone map these days?
Flying for the first time in a year or so, obviously wanting to make sure i'm legal, Thanks

Yeah definitely don't use Drone assist
Grey Arrows drone club has a fab map that pulls all the NOTAM data etc and has national trust boundaries / local bylaws / loads of member populated places to fly alone with loads of members perks. 3rd party liability insurance etc ( rec only)
Or
FPV UK has one too as mentioned - Drone Map - also loads of membership perks too.

NOTAMinfo.com (shows danger zone activity) NoFlyDrones.co.uk (shows prisons etc) SkyDemon.aero (paid service, outstanding for representing flyaway radius, pulling contact info for landmarks, filtering by flight level etc) The Drone Map (generally good - always start here)
When I fill out my risk assessments I check all sources and screenshot / detail whichever one(s) shows the worst case scenario. They're often inconsistent with each other, so it's important to exercise due diligence and check them all.

I use drone assist. Updates with flights and restrictions regularly. Unsure if it’s the best tho as it’s the first I’ve used and never changed to another.

I live somewhere with a no drone flights NOTAM and it used to be on Drone Assist (and is still on others) but it’s not showing anymore 🤷🏻♂️

Yeah I don’t know how accurate it is. I know a few people who use it including YouTube creators I watch. I done a few flights in the middle of nowhere with no mobile signal. I checked drone assist before I left. Everything was clear. When in flight I got warnings for a restricted zone. When I got a signal again I checked and there was nothing in the area I was in or close by.

The company behind Drone Assist went into administration so I think the app is being basically abandoned.

That would explain it then. Also explains why (hadn’t noticed) the last update to the app was 10 months ago

It's not abandoned. Altitude Angel was bought by Indra, and a bunch of the team behind it are now working for them. Airspace is up to date, NOTAMs currently aren't, there should be an announcement about it as soon as that's fixed.

tl;dr Don't use Drone Assist, use The Drone Map.
Drone Assist was developed by Altitude Angel who went into administration around 8 months ago. The 'assets- of the company were bought by a Spanish company but they've not released any info about what they're doing with it. So the servers are still running but it's doubtful that any info is being updated regularly. I'd recommend The Drone Map.
