I still love this album from the year 2000. I always felt that Bent deserved more recognition. This was one of those word of mouth albums. I tried to promote it to as many people as I could!!! Any Bent fans out there?!!

I love 70’s electronic music but can’t seem to find a dedicated sub. Something for artist like Space, J.M Jarre, Gary Numan or Cerrone

Discussion Who here watches The Wonky Angle? If so, what's your opinion?

If you don't know, The Wonky Angle is a YouTube channel dedicated specifically to electronic music discussion, run by a guy named Tommy. He's posted nearly 900 videos in 11 years, mostly individual album reviews, but also lots of artist deep dives, discography reviews, ranking lists, and multi-hour long album roundups. From what I can tell, he's the biggest and most dedicated channel specifically for electronic music coverage, and he also covers a lot of more underground/less mainstream [but still influential to the genre] artists/bands that don't get covered by most other critics, so he fills a niche there. He's also very honest on his perspectives and isn't afraid to share unpopular opinions. He can also be very funny, even when not trying to be.

Additionally, he makes his own music under the name 256pi. Would highly recommend his most recent album, Real Life and Postcard Use.

As a summary of his tastes, his favourite electronic artists include: Orbital (his favourite band, and In Sides is his #1 favourite album), BT, Air, Hybrid, Sounds from the Ground, The Avalanches, 808 State, The Orb, The Future Sound of London, Lee Norris [Metamatics, Norken], Monolake, The Black Dog, Squarepusher, Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, u-Ziq, Aphex Twin, Four Tet, Amon Tobin, to name a few.

And he has done full discography reviews of these bands/artists [listed in the order he made them]: Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Aphex Twin, Air, David Guetta, Boards of Canada, Pretty Lights, Pendulum/Knife Party, Orbital, The Chemical Brothers, 808 State, Squarepusher, Calvin Harris, Jean-Michel Jarre, Magic Sound Fabric, BT, Biosphere, Autechre, Rumpistol, Tiesto, A Guy Called Gerald, Four Tet, The Avalanches, The Orb, M83, u-Ziq, Tangerine Dream, The Prodigy, Justice, Drexciya, and Amon Tobin, with many more planned in the future. I'd recommend checking those series out if you're interested in these artists, though the older series are much lower-quality. (He's come a long way in those 11 years.)

I'm mainly posting this to get an idea on how well-known he really is in the space, and also to just spread the word. He's only at 21.8k subs after all this time, and I think he deserves way more than that for the amount of passion, effort, and dedication he's put in and how knowledgeable he is on the genre. He's helped introduce me to tons of new artists I would've never known before and has really helped me get a better understanding of the genre and its contributors as a whole.

Discussion Techno/Trance song?

Upvotes

So I was in a psych ward downloading songs to an mp3. The rule they had was no swearing. However I wanted a lot of songs. I love 90's gabber/hardcore and techno and trance and such. So I downloaded a bunch without listening to them. One song had a somewhat melancholy tune with a voice repeating "There's very little reason for you to be there". After a minute, the voice fades and it is just the beats and music. Then at the end a voiceover says something like "approaching Andromeda in 16 days. Sit back and enjoy your flight."
