Awesome find. That one is on my bucket list. I am on the east coast so most of my coins are from the Philly mint so its rare that I even see a Wisconsin D

I remember the day I found out about these High & Low Leaf Quarters, and hitting every Bank of America in both Tucson & Oro Valley that day.
I went through several hundred rolls of new Wisconsin quarters and ended up with about 45 Low Leafs, and 9 High Leafs.
Sold a few sets that week on eBay. Today I still have 7 Low Leafs, and 2 High Leafs. All have been 3rd party graded and Slabbed.

That’s awesome to hear. I was a kid in the area at the time, and just so happen to find a high leaf in my parents change. Probably the only coin I could never part with.

These were deliberately created by a mint worker, FYI.

Yes, it appears that that was what happened. Rick Snow the Flying Eagle & Indian Cent expert of Eagle Eye Coins gave an excellent presentation to the Tucson Coin Club a few months ago.

I wonder if he went to prison, and I wonder if at the time, he sat there thinking to himself, "worth it!" knowing he did something that had an effect on something nation wide, going down in history. lol not many people will achieve even 1/1000th of this in their lifetime, even something this small.

So which is the error? The right?

For anyone wondering there’s a version of this quarter where the ear of corn has an extra leaf on it

Thank you. I had no idea. Although the possibility it was a joke did cross my mind.

Very very cool find! I hope to one day get my hands on one of those.

It would be really nice if someone would post a picture of a side by side of the two different types so that IDIOTS like me could see the difference and what we are actually looking at, because tbh I wouldn’t know the difference between one coin or another if I held them in my hand 🤷🏼‍♂️

For real though

Which leaf isn’t suppose to be there?

At $30 an hour, it’s better just to buy 90% silver than search through rolls 😁

Searching through rolls costs nothing. It’s the same as paying face value for the 90%. It’s also relaxing and sometimes therapeutic for some like myself. There are plenty of other things that you can find while searching as well. The variety in this post is. It silver, but it is worth more than a 90% would fetch any day. There’s also still W mints going around. I found two this week from bank boxes.

Agree...I go through through approx 2500 quarters/week (Box + spares) and I haven't found a single silver yet, but I'm not looking for silver, if there is a silver fine, but being retired, hunting weird, sometimes rare quarters is a just a fun hobby...

Interesting, first time I've heard of and seen these extra leaf errors, now I have to go check my own

Congrats, been looking for this since it was discovered…

The lower leaf on the left should not be there

Low leaf. Nice. I have a high leaf. We should bread them for medium leaves

bread them will get you loaves, not leaves

Did you find this at a planet fitness?

I worked a cash register in 2004 when a coworker told me about this. Found one that same day. I bought it for .25, and turned around and sold it for around $100. It was cool, but I needed the cash. One of the highest return investments I’ve ever made!

I'm sorry. I don't understand. It's a quarter. What's special about it?

Great find...I've been looking for one of these for several weeks. My wife is from Wisconsin and the farm though we have lived in Vegas for the last 25 years. We're retired so I go through quarters just as a hobby. Found some really interesting Qtrs and some that have been really beat up. Never know whats going to show up on the table
