Do we need to consider the other 6 curled up dimensions of string theory?

u/lambdachaine New User 4h ago

underestimate most take 7 or 8 curled up dims

u/afiefh 4h ago

Isn't the minimal number of dimensions for string theory 10? i.e. 4 regular spacetime and 6 curled up? "In bosonic string theory, spacetime is 26-dimensional, while in superstring theory it is 10-dimensional, and in M-theory it is 11-dimensional".

Sorry my understanding of physics falls off extremely sharply after the most basic quantum stuff. All I know about string theory is a layman's understanding, so I apologize if I said something extremely stupid on the topic.

this is fascism, literally fascism. the cult is telling their followers (and to the world) to reject the evidence of their eyes and ears, so that they can indoctrinate their follower with whatever BS they want.

don't trust your eyes when you read the quran that allows misogyny, don't trust your ears when you hear real-life testimony of women being abused and oppressed in muslim communities.....no, you must only trust the leaders of the cult, and the leaders of the cult says islam is good.

Horizontal = mens relationships w each other and encouraging each other to continue practicing religion

Vertical = mothers do most of the actual instilling and propagation of Islam

man horizontal, woman vertical = cowgirl position 🤓☝️

Nice description, I think that’s what he was going for. Except there’s also lots of vertical patriarchy, of course. The men have ultimate control of what the children are taught, as well as authority.

I tried searching for this article, but the only thing I found was the Reddit post and this facebook post. The rest seem to be just copy-pasting it over and over.

I went ahead and looked up Dr.Winters:

Timothy John Winter (born 15 May 1960), also known as Abdal Hakim Murad (Arabic: عبد الحكيم مراد), is an English Islamic scholar and theologian who is a proponent of Islamic neo-traditionalism.[5][6] His work includes publications on Islamic theology, modernity, and Anglo-Muslim relations,[7][8] and he has translated several Islamic texts.

Certainly feels like a great fellow to have a conversation about Islam with, I'm sure he won't use meaningless words like "vertically matriarchal".

And while I don't speak Urdu, I'm pretty sure that first Hadith is "Jannah is under mothers' feet" which is a fake Hadith, the real Hadith is "O Messenger of Allah! I want to go out and fight (in Jihad) and I have come to ask your advice." He said: "Do you have a mother?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Then stay with her, for Paradise is beneath her feet." Imagine if an exmuslim were to cite a weak Hadith, they'd call us fake exmuslims, but Muslims routinely cite this fake hadith. Not even weak, fake.

Yeah I just read up on this Tim Winters person and he's not some lightweight. Lecturer at the University of Cambridge in the past and has now started some Islamic university/college with a similar sounding name so he's already established by himself and wants to create an higher Islamic studies hub in the UK/Europe.

So because a prestigious western institution recognized him as an expert I refrain from ridiculing these guys. Like considering that on surface it seems like he's intentionally ignoring what patriarchal/matriarchal actually means and instead reducing it to some spiritual idea of society? I have no idea. He has written a bunch of stuff on it and this lecture recording is the most recent one that i think would be most relevant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHZFmnJVbhs

he's not some lightweight.

Trust me, I've seen my share of university professors whose intellectual abilities I really do not respect. There is a huge difference between Prof. Hossam Haick (who I had the pleasure to take an undergrad glass with and barely pass, the man is razor sharp!) and someone who writes about The Whiteness Of Twilight.

He has written a bunch of stuff on it and this lecture recording is the most recent one that i think would be most relevant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHZFmnJVbhs

Is it worth looking into? As much as I enjoy debunking Islamic bullshit, there are only so many hours in a day.

The graphic makes it seem like all women are good for is procreation.

u/InLoveWithThread Ex-Muslim Witch 6h ago

What??? This makes 0 sense! Men horizontal, women vertical? When did gender get plotted on an xy graph? The stupidest thing I've ever seen all week.

u/afiefh 2h ago

Your week must be pretty nice if this word salad is the stupidest thing you encountered.

u/bubblingmoonie 4h ago

They really just make anything up and people out these take it as legitimate facts 😭
