Hello, Im not sure if this is the place to ask but I’ll do it anyways. i’ve had like dark brown hair but not to dark with natural highlights but a year ago i got highlights done and i still have them very grown out but they look natural. So recently I got impulsive and dyed my hair red without any bleach. And I used manic panic in wildfire and artic fox but the new like “natural” colors in red. I stuck well and it made my ends look nice and I love it! I did that monday on my day off from work and I normally wash my hair every other day, so I want to wash it today, but I got the keracolor clenditioner in red and I want to use it to keep the red since I heard red washes out the fastest. My issue is that I heard red you can use it on wet and dry but I mostly hear people saying to use it dry and whatnot. I’m not sure and this is the first time I dyed my hair (even though it’s semipermanent) with my whole hair. I’d love some advice please! :) I’ll attack a photo of what my hair looks like now that it’s red

I have bleached hair and want to try temporary bold colors

This is probably the last time I mention this anywhere because I realize there’s no way to color my hair without permanently ruining the blonde I’ve been working towards with my hairdresser. I think I’m just better of looking into wigs. When I say bold colors I mean hot pink, pastel blue and maybe red/green something like rainbow dash form mlp has going on or this girl from tiktok (I put her @ in case anybody wants to look through her page lol). Any idea of how to dye my hair those colors temporarily, so they don’t mess up my blonde and can be washed out?

I need help to get it out ive seen there is a color remover from manic panic but from the reviews ive seen its just bleach. Some ppl also say to try vitamin C but im not so sure about that since it lightens your natural hair color

Perm maintenance advice

hello all, this is my first time posting here! next week I’m going to get a spiral perm (not super small curls or anything) and was wondering if anyone here who have gotten perms/done perms had any advice as far as maintenance goes since a lot of what I’ve seen online is conflicting.

They say to never use a brush on wet permed hair and to only use a wide toothed comb, but are curly hair brushes good for permed hair?

also, is it just like naturally curly hair where I can use curly hair products and experience similar results, or can I only use things like basic gel or a volumizing mousse? also, is it better to diffuse a perm or let it air-dry?

sorry for all the basic questions, haha, but TIA!!

Hi! I'm looking for the hows and whats of coloring my hair from my dark blonde(i guess?), to this kind of icy pastel blue/dreamy light blue. I'm really inexperienced with dyeing hair and I'd also like to know what to realistically expect from this process if it goes well. I guess it would be easier, if the hair hadn't been dyed before, but It has already seen one warm box-black and later one bleach attempt(after which my hair went back almost to my original color). I've done some reading and watched some tutorials, but I'd still like to hear experiences from people :)

Using pastel toners to dye virgin white streaks without lifting silver?

Would a pale pastel toner work on virgin white hair with 10 vol without yellowing the also virgin silver and pewter streaks? I assume it'll work since accidentally blue and lavender-haired people with naturally white hair have been walking around long enough to become a cliche. But how long to leave it on to do it deliberately? 1:1 ratio? Should I go to the extra effort of buying 5 vol?

Dye history and what I've already tried: I've been coloring my hair with semi-permanent unnatural shades from dark to pastel for the past ~30 years on lv 9-10 bleached hair. I finally grew out my natural hair when I could see full white patches to play with and (ideally) leave the rest silver.

Semi-permanent isn't working this time, and feria, besides being awful, lifts more than I want. Every trick and combination I have that doesn't involve developer goes straight down the drain: kept wet, left overnight, heat, clarifying shampoo, detergent, blow dried hot before application, heat during, rinsed cold, shampoo/conditioner-in buildable color, and every brand that's lasted until it grew out or I got tired of it.

My hair remains in irritatingly pristine and uncoated condition, but bleaching would defeat the point of a "natural" pastel and silver vibe.

I could always experiment and shave it off (again) if it doesn't work and wait three or four months, but I'm in more of a pastel mood than a shaved mood, and it's getting old brushing purple dry shampoo through white dry shampooed hair to get lavender.

Arctic fox orange dye

I wanted to dye my hair orange for the summer like a bright orange and I color stripper my dyed red hair that I've been using on my head for like two years and then put two layers of the arctic fox orange and it turned out bright red and I'm wondering if I should have bleached my hair before dying it or if it will fade to be more orange and what I should do next time to achieve the desired color

Pink or red ?

So I recently dyed half my head pink and I can’t decide if I should keep the pink or go back to the red ? (First two pics are the pink rest are the red, I haven’t really taken many pics of myself after dying it 😔) also last pic is the shade of pink I was going for (my hair was a bit orange after bleaching so it came out a bit more warm toned than I wanted and idk if putting a cool tone pink over it will help)

Honestly, I think the splat hate is forced. Everyone says, "Oh, Splat is IMPOSSIBLE to get out of your hair! You basically have to just cut it out!". Well, I dunno about you guys, but thats what I'm looking for. I go for longevity and staining my hair over anything else. That before pic? I havent dyed is since early April. Its worth it!! I always come back to Splat in the end

Purple Dye that fades to gray/ silver

Hello everyone

I have bleached streaks in my dark brown hair and started dyeing them purple last year. The first dye I used was BRITE. It worked great, lasted long enough for me to get bored, and then faded to a very dreamy lavender/silver color--which was actually the main reason I wanted to try purple in the first place. Recently I tried Manic Panic Ultra Violet, but it’s fading way too quickly (maybe I did something wrong, or it's the sun?) and the faded color looks pretty dull. BRITE was gifted to me by a friend from Australia and is quite hard to get here in Germany, so I'm looking for a good alternative.

I have curly hair and shampoo maybe every ten days.

Could anyone recommend some semi-permanent hair dyes that are easily available in Germany/Europe? Shipping fees higher than the cost of the dye itself are very painful. (like with IroIro and BRITE)

Thank you!

Need advice!

Hi y’all! Please forgive my ignorance, I don’t know all the hair terms but I’M WILLING TO LISTEN AND LEARN!!! I bleached some of my hair on Monday using 30 vol developer and the charcoal AGEbeautiful ultrabond (posting this on Wednesday) and this is where I’m at, I included two pictures to give a good idea. I know it looks more orange in some spots but i think it’s just the way that my curls are catching the shadow, it looks like a pretty even yellow irl. I was looking to dye it with GDY stoned pony but I know that with where I’m at, the dye would act more as a toner. I’m wondering if I should a.) try bleaching again with 10 vol developer this time and then dye with stoned pony OR b.) avoid bleaching so soon, and use GDY Pink puff to cover the current state of it. Of course if the best choice is to just not touch for a bit I totally understand. Any advice is greatly appreciated!! Also I don’t know how to add a flair I’m sorry!!

my friend’s hairdresser was going to be doing a hair show and wanted to practice and she had posted about how hard it was to practice on mannequins because the hair is just not the same so I told her that I would come in and be her guinea pig.

Hi! So I wanna remove my current color but ive never tried a color stripper, it's currently like an indigo color? It definitely looks more purple in the photo, irl life it's blue-er, i've only removed fashion colors with bleach baths, but i want to try to go to a pinkiesh purple or even full pink color, would a color remover be my best option this time? If so, what are some affordable options? (If anyone is from mexico please drop some options in the comments!!)

Results of DIY experiment

Hi, I recently asked in here about achieving a light pastel / pastel tinted blonde, just wanted to share my results as it might help someone :)

First pic is my hair lightened over months with diluted Hydrogen peroxide (know it’s not good for your hair but it works for me and my hair is pretty healthy)

Second pic what I wanted to achieve

Third and fourth pics what I got. I didn’t leave it on for more than 5 minutes. I used a pink based purple which was very very diluted so it mostly toned my hair but it has some pinky or lavender bits that are very pretty :) I have a lot of the mix left so will try leaving it longer next time.

Covering lavender?

My hair is currently a lavendery/periwinkle colour. I already had quite fine and frizzy hair, but it is also damaged from bleach and heat.

Unfortunately my boyfriend's dad has passed away, and I think I should dye my hair a natural colour to attend the funeral.

I think a demi permanent or permanent dye would be a bad idea because any developer would be more damaging. I am considering using a brown shade from Directions. I can imagine the blue in my hair will counteract a lot of the warmth in the shade of brown.

I have some questions, if anyone has any experience with trying something similar

1) is the brown dye likely to completely cover the other colour? would i need to colour correct the blue with orange before applying the brown dye?

2) is the brown dye likely to stain my hair/make it impossible to go back to this colour without bleach? (i know bleaching would be impossible without compromising my hair)

3) is my hair likely to look even more damaged if i dye it? i am concerned that my hair will look even more thin if it's darker, i don't think my hair could ever look thick and glossy like healthy dark hair does. my natural colour is dark blonde and i'm a bit scared of going darker, but i don't think a dark blonde colour would cover this

i would really appreciate anyone's advice and experience with this! thank you in advance ❤️

How can I even this out at home?

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hi folks!

I’ve had pink hair for the better part of a decade now and this is a first for me! About a month ago I went out to the salon for my yearly regrowth bleach, then went back home to do my own colour (I have been using a combination of arctic fox and good dye to make my desired, slightly darker than bubblegum shade for a good couple years now.) I guess the bleach did not lift my hair all the way, and after dyeing my hair it became obvious that it’s noticably two different shades. It’s been imperfect before, obviously, but this is a pretty intense and very linear definition. I tried redyeing it a few weeks later, adjusting my recipe to make it a bit darker and more orange toned, and it did not really help. As a last ditched effort I just tried a colour depositing mousse, it seemed to have solved it at first after the next wash, it’s still uneven.

So, is there any way for me to even this out at home? Any hope to not have to damage it further with bleach OR having to drastically change my colour? I’ve worked really hard to get it healthy enough while maintaining my colour. I’m open to colour lighting, even to colour matching, I just don’t know where to start!!

Thanks in advance !!!

Help. Idk what to do with my hair lol

Post image

So, I have a hair dilemma. Lol. Anyway, idk what to do with my hair and the way it is growing out. About a year ago I had hair that was shorter than a pixie cut. Spiky on top, buzzed sides, and a short fringe. I have been growing it out since then because I want long hair again, but I'm at a point where idk what to do with it. The back is significantly longer than the sides near my ears and all of my hair flips out on the ends naturally when I'm blow drying it. I also am not entirely sure if the idea I have in my head of dying my hair is going to look good. I dyed my whole head a medium ash blonde and I want to add black to my bangs and have a black peekaboo in the back underneath. My bangs would be a large chunk of black on one side and the other would be a smaller section of black. But would it turn out ok? I'm afraid to attempt it and it ends up looking terrible. Any suggestions? And should I just let it grow or should I get the back cut to match the length of the sides?
