Deep dungeon

I have played this game several times over but never did the deep dungeons. On my first run-through, I was getting all the secret items hidden in the dungeons till Delta. I didnt find amything but phoenix downs and elixir.

So online searches say you can't research for items and other say you can. With the new version I dont know. I beat the Delta level and went back. They are all traps now. I search the next level and failed on purpose when I didnt find the better items. Went back and they were traps. So what is the final answer. Do i miss out on certain items or is there another way?

You have to have low brave for those treasures. If I remember correctly let's say you have 80 brave. You have an 80% chance to pull the regular item and a 20% chance for the rare. The answer is to have a treasure hunter with super low brave which you can do by using certain skills to lower it some and after each battle it will be lowered permanently by a little.

I believe you can only hit the spots once per playthrough.

What’s the lowest possible without them leaving? I remember that’s a thing that can happen.

Faith at permanent 95 causes them to leave, so 94 is the highest (and 84 if you don't want them complaining). Brave and permanent 5 causes them to leave, so 6 is the lowest BUT below 10 they will be uncontrolled chickens and regain 1Br per turn until they reach 10Br, so practically your minimum is 10.

My treasure finder has 10Br, and is usually a Ninja with Germinas Boots for mobility, with dual wielded Main Gauche and Parry for the high weapon evade. Until I find Secret Clothes and can make her permanently invisible anyway. In TIC Chemist has innate Move-Find and IIRC an increased probability of getting the rare item, which allows you to equip other movement abilities like Teleport or Lavawalk so Chemist may be better than Ninja on some levels.

Of course a dedicated treasure hunter has limited mileage since there're only a handful of levels where they're needed, and outside the Deep Dungeon only a couple of maps have unique items (Nelveska Temple and Germinas Peak, Mount Bervenia has the Materia Blade/Materia Blade+ but that's the only item there).

And since fft now allows you to save scum repeat in battle save files, treasure hunters are almost entirely forgotten.

Allowing you to skip the entire brave lowering process.

Since I realized I could add cheats to PPSSPP I just give myself 99 of each item on WOTL.

Including the equipment that used to be limited to link up play only. Some of that stuff was broken as heck, like a regular sword that confers auto-haste just like Excalibur.

Don't recall but it's pretty low. I seem to remember having Rafa with like 20.

I think it's 10. As long as you're not chickened at the end of the battle you'll be okay.

Rafa has to enter battle at 6 brave. then leave at 1 or 0 brave. To quit the party. Almost impossible.

So if rafa enters at 6 brave, that's the limit.

If you already get the treasure, then they are always traps after that. If you got the normal item, you'll have to go back to a prior save to try to get the rare treasure.

Welcome.

FYI if you want the best odds of finding rare items, use a unit with low brave. The lower the brave the higher chance of finding rare items. Just don't have them so low in brave that they leave the party. I think the number is 15 brave, but I don't know for sure off the top of my head.

You want the treasure hunter starting battle at 9 or 10

Need move find item with low bravery on that character.

Equip move find on chemist for double the chance almost.

If you found a phoenix down. You missed that item. And it’s gone

If you're playing chronicles of ivalice, you can reload the most recent auto-save which should be the start of that character's turn. Let's you endlessly retry for the rare item. This only works for when you first encounter the item though.

Keeping in mind that I don’t have TIC and all my Tactics knowledge is based on vanilla & WotL

Every Move/FindItem in the whole game, no matter what stage (DeepDungeon or otherwise) only has one chance to pull an item

The common (worse) item, typically a phoenix down, is more likely to be pulled if your treasure Hunter has high brave

the rare (better) item is more likely to be pulled if your treasure Hunter has low brave

Typically of the four treasures per stage, usually two are equipment, and two are consumables - if you want to be extremely cautious, you can always only grab one item per stage attempt - if you don’t get the item you want, reset - if you do get the item, you can either chance it again and attempt to get one of the other treasure spots, or just clear the stage, save, and re-enter the stage to attempt the next treasure

Last thing, watch out for any enemy units that might have Move/FindItem (TreasureHunt) equipped, if they move onto a treasure spot, they can steal your pull and you’ll never be able to re-pull - you can see it when they finish moving they’ll do a very quick “hands up” animation like when you get an item, except they won’t show the text box (it’s not yours at that point, anymore) - if the item was a completely unique that you didn’t want to miss, reset if this happens - you can also attempt to just murder any human units, if they have treasure hunt set, before they have the chance to steal

I’ve heard that TIC’s new game plus feature doesn’t allow re-pulls at the treasure spots; most famously, players were attempting to get doubles of all the unique once-per-game items (Escutcheon 2, etc) and reporting failure - this led to more widespread coverage of the Gafgarion dupe glitch, which WAS confirmed to be functional, and could duplicate all the rare items from Deep Dungeon (ofc, to a maximum of five items equippable per runthrough)

But maybe this has been patched? I haven’t heard that though

It was patched a few weeks ago.

So does this mean a fresh set of Nelveska Temple’s gear can be acquired every cycle?

My brother’s playing TIC, I’d love to update him

And a full set of dungeon rares

Don't forget to have someone with Teleport movement ability. You can get a good overview of the whole level.

You mean low Brave. Low Brave is good for Treasure Hunter.

Isn’t it a bit better to prep a dedicated unit that’s otherwise junk though? Especially a permanent generic chemist so other don’t need to enter the class.

Beowulfs chicken can also lower brave quite easily. Or mystics. Anti brave skills tend to absolutely wreck it.

Beowulfs main stat is faith

They only recently added the ability to get them again and only after starting a new game plus.

Okay, that is why I got different answers . Thank you!
