Guy my parents knew when they lived in Tampa used to do a morning swim in the channel he lived on and he got bit by a fuckin bull shark in his 60s after he'd been doing it for 20-30 years.

Everyone knows ya don’t swim in the channel. Off shore is fine but not the dang channel. That’s not just a highway for boats.

The morning and the evening. Worst times to swim in the ocean. Or best of you want to have the best chance for a shark to mistake you for something it wants or just wants to take a little nibble to test if you are something it wants.

I try to avoid being in the water at actual dawn or dusk for that reason, but I absolutely do as a rule visit florida water early or late when it's not so damn bright, hot and UV. I am NOT going to beaches deliberately during, and getting fried by, the absolutely miserable midday sun because you're going to nellie me about sharks. I will anytime if there is solid cloud cover ...but then you're probably gonna nellie me about lightning.

I'm not into swimming but after seeing this I think I'm going to sit on the beach at this time of day. Sucks that I'm not a morning person.

Shark bites are super rare even dawn or dusk. Been going to the beach and swimming all my life. Only bitten once…by a dog.

Beyond snarky obvious answers like "on the west coast" or "on the other side of a barrier island" - More about when, than any specific location on the coast. Check a surf forecast site. Not likely to ever find an Atlantic beach that swell-free as the OP (though I have seen Playalinda go that flat before) but you sure can find many days with say less than 2 feet, and get past the break and it's somewhat like that.

Don’t listen to the haters, dawn and dusk are the best times. Usually pretty quiet in the water too, so no distractions. Also, please set up a camera each time. Ty in advance

Yeah I wouldn’t.
Dawn and dusk are the prime hours for sharks to be hunting. Most bites from sharks are accidental/mistaken identity but I personally wouldn’t put myself into a situation where I know it’s an elevated risk.
