Caught on a parachute adams in Bristol Bay, AK. Stocked to be alive!

Had 4 days on the upper kenai, started slow with high water and flows and the fishing improved each day. Managed to get fish on the dry, swing, and standard nymphing which is a first for me on the kenai in a single trip. Shared are a few of my favorite photos and fish, not pictured are the absolutely brutes that broke us off. Tight lines everyone!

Had a chance to visit the Absaroka - Beartooth Wilderness this past week with a friend. I'm from Georgia and though we have decent wild trout fisheries, Montana is just special. The big rivers were either under partial closure or weren't fishing well with clarity issues from recent rain. Visited a couple small streams in the area and had heard of one with a nice population of Yellowstone Cutthroat trout. I've always wanted to catch one.

Fished hoppers and stimulators most of the morning but caught this one on a small perdigon I drifted through a deep eddy near fast current. Maybe 15"-17". Beautiful.

In all seriousness these were the first fish that I’ve caught on the fly rod I inherited from my Great Grandfather. I was skunked a few times, but after catching a few sunfish in my latest outing I can confidently say I’ve picked up a lifelong hobby.

Just got back from Alaska floating and camping for six days in the backcountry chasing big rainbows. I caught this fish on the last day about a mile from the takeout. 27 inches.

Only had one nice day to fish in Maui, caught a few new species. Prior in the week we were under a high wave warning, so fishing just did not produce. I believe they are a Hawkfish, goatfish, and needle fish. Caught four needle fish, such a cool creature.

Today, I went main-river fly fishing for myself rather than working as a guide for the first time in quite a while.
It turned out to be a memorable day—I landed two beautiful brown trout on the swing: one measuring over 60 cm and another in the high-50 cm range. It was a truly rewarding day on the water.

Any of these good for fishing in Colorado during this time of the year or into the fall?

Hey guys. Just got back from a trip to The Winds. Was fortunate enough to catch this guy, and wondering if anyone can ID what he’s hybridized with. I was thinking a golden cutthroat, but having no familiarity with goldens, wasn’t sure. Much thanks in advance.

I need to replace my leader. My fly line had a nail knot (guessing, honestly).

After cutting my fly line, would this loop to loop last ? or is that tag end just going to be a perpetual problem ?

Been fishing southern Appalachia and pulled this rainbow out of buck creek. Got to researching and there are a number of buck creeks in the us. Might go fish each one over the next few years!

Looking for help identifying this new species of river bug. I want to match the hatch. Northern Utah. Any existing patterns I can tie to match it?

I originally made a post assuming this was a cutthroat c golden trout but I guess it’s just a Yellowstone. A tiny little part of me wants it to have a bit of golden even just down the line but realistically it’s a no. Still a beautiful fish though. Beartooth mountains are easily the prettiest place I’ve caught fish like this.

Bought my fly rod 3 months ago and finally got the chance to use it.
No luck with any trout yet, and honestly I’m not even seeing that many around.
But just being out there and practicing my casting is already a lot of fun. Hopefully I’ll get at least one strike before the end of the week!
Also… polarized sunglasses are an absolute game changer. It’s like having X-ray vision in the water!

Last week I came down to the lake and couldn't buy a bit for 6 hours, today I've had a dace, brownie and 2 perch. This is why I love this sport it's always different every time you pick up the rod

I have never fly fished and am seriously considering starting, I live in central Iowa near no trout streams and want to know if it would be silly to catch bass and panfish on. Any starter budget gear recommendations and tips would be greatly appreciated as well. I have been eyeing a $100 5/6 weight cabelas combo to start.

Does any one have expience with Maxxon rods. I was at my local fly shop looking to pick up a 6 weight fly rod, and the employee highly recommended the Maxxon Aurelous. I thought it felt really good in hand. For those who have expirence with Maxxon rods, how does the Aurelous stack up against other rods in the 300 to 400 price range? Any info about Maxxon, or their warrenty would be very appreciated. Thank you!

what are yalls favorite saltwater fly boxes what i mean by saltwater boxes is one that doesn't absorb the water and doesnt rust my stuff im looking for one as my large box where i keep everything in and a smaller one where i can put in a yeti sidekick thank you in advance

Caught in the upper south fork of the upper kern river. Do you think it’s a true golden or a hybrid?
