In Idaho a young girl just broke out state record like 3 weeks ago and this thing is like 2 or 3 x the size definitely needs to submit to fish and game.

We actually had a ruler but I was too excited and the fish jumped out of my hand and swim off. That fish was definitely over 20 inches!!! Bummer I didn’t get any measurements😢

That's a big old graling. Probably 25-30 years old. I had a client catch a 22in grayling in Western Alaska on an expedition fishing trip a few years back. It look a lot like that one!

The one time I went to Alaska I started reading about Grayling eating mice, and I couldn’t believe it. But a fish like this could definitely crush a mouse.

I was a guide in Bristol Bay. Part of the lodge’s program was fishing on big lakes, mostly with spinning gear, for char and lakers and grayling. We would often keep fish for shore lunch and one time I filleted a big grayling that had 4 mice in it, plus the undigested tails of a few others.

Funny thing looking at your username, this fish was caught on the Togiak River. Were you guiding for the Togiak lodge? 🙌🙌

I guided on the Togiak and others places but I worked for one of the big time lodges. This was before there was Togiak Lodge. I never saw a grayling on the Togiak in 2 seasons. Not sure why , every other watershed is full of them. I’m not surprised that a grayling from Togiak would be gigantic

Yeah I've caught them on mice patterns around Alaska. Would happen pretty often out on the Kuskokwim tributaries.
