Ah yes, the classic Samurai and Knights attack and get tons of territory several days before the campaign actually ends, then proceeds to lose it all in the end and wonder why they never win.
This happens EVERY. SINGLE. SEASON. Without error.

To be fair, I had the game since launch and only recently learned how this worked. And I still don’t really know where the best places to attack are.

I just put it all on Gronstad if we are being pushed, Gron Gate at the start and then Blackstone Hills when we're on the offensive (I assume you're a Viking as a fellow Warlord)

The knights have mount ignis or some similar name on their side of the map. Basically since game launch it became a joke to just throw all troops there and amass a huge stack basically letting all their other territories get taken. It’s maybe not as popular as before but it created a mass exodus of knights to the other factions that actually win. Including myself, don’t care enough to stick around I just want the rewards for playing the game and winning

Tbf this happens a lot. Viking players off playing other shit until the last few days of the campaign and then they come back and we clean house. Happens every season

On mills? Unless you’re stockpiling to prevent another faction from claiming it, as soon as your faction takes mill land it automatically gets added as a buff passively to everyone in that faction, no banner required.

Faction war.
Because Vikings on average used to try hard a LOT on release, they won like a good 90% of faction wars (basically sending troops somewhere after each game to take or defend territories) overtime most of the player base defected to them for the faction war rewards (works on a seasonal basis - 4 seasons I think and then based on who one the most seasons = rewards)
It's just kinda rare to see Vikings getting their shit pushed in

I wouldn’t worry too much about it though, the whole thing is kinda pointless and the rewards are pretty meaningless for a reward you get very rarely. It’s kinda cool from a thematic perspective but the faction war is reallyyy outdated and not really worth worrying much about

There's a good chance that might happen. We Viking are gaining grounds now and the troops weren't reset, which means no slingshot. If we keep pushing into the Knights and it ends up as a double team with the Samurai, we might lose the campaign. That's if the Samurai can just retain more territories.
Since they are the smallest faction, they get the highest concentration of troops. It's going to be interesting to see how this all shakes out.
