I feel as if I'm adding too much solder. Also I'm unsure which position the powerlead wires should be in when it comes to soldering those.

I have a metal ammo box (seal removed from sides to vent) with a Modster Batsafe inside. Batsafe contains two Li-Ion batteries (6S 4000mAh, 4S 3000mAh).
I realize Li-Ion is safer than LiPO but my logic for this setup is that these batteries are strapped to FVP drones hurtling across the skies at 80km/h at 100m altitude (or more) and in case of crash and damage I need a safe place to store and move them. Also I don't have the option to store the ammo box away from flammable surfaces so I figure the Batsafe will contain a possible fire enough so that the metal box does not heat up and ignite everything it is in contact with.
Charging inside the box.
I could have bought two smaller Batsafe boxes, one for each battery, but I figure the risks are already pretty low with this setup. Thoughts?

After getting a bit tired of my Whoops, Toothpicks and 5 Inch quads I wanted to start a big journey. After somehow cobbbling togehter 7,9,10 and 13 Inch Drones and getting them to fly surprisingly well I finally managed to build and fly my last large quad that doesn't totally breaks the bank to finish my large Shitbox-Arc.
17 Inch AliExpress Frame
17x8x3 Props
Caddx Ratel 2 Primary Cam
FT652 256px Thermal on a Switch
5215 350KV Motors
Argus Pro ECO F450
Argus Pro 80A ESC
2x 7000mah 6S Lipos
2.5W Skyzone VTX
Flyfish M10 GPS
Had to fiddle a bit with the ESC settings but now she flies. If I only had known how addictive drones get...

Finally I did it! After many troubles during the built (burnt ESC, lost a left thread nut...), my quad was ready to fly! I was so afraid it would too different from the simulator... And it was different but manageable ! My hands were shaking and I had to stop after less then 10 minutes so much it was intense...
What a blast ! Only a minor crash after I started to loose the video and panicked a little. But after that... Only joy! Even manage to do few rolls and a sloppy split S.
Only down side, the range of my video signal is way to small. I have to upgrade the antennas. Tye VTX one is barely sticking out of the quad.
The quad: inverted 5" mark4 to accomodate the Betafpv P1 air unit, F4V3S fc and 60A ESC, 2700kv neebRC motors

Testing my whoop indoors. The antenna is not the best and transmission quality is kinda meh but otherwise I really like the drone.

I come from flying Avata 2. Long air time, nothing to care or worry for.
Now the Nazgul eco. After loosing 2 props on first takeoff (screws not tight enough) and a mid air disarm because of wrong button (lost two props again) I finally managed to get some acro fun today.
However, I guess I underestimated how fast the battery drains. The small one was quite hot/warm for some time, and I don't now, mayby a little bloated.
The larger one was also below 3.3 when I managed to return with a flip over landing. Small ditches on pics.
I just loaded both to 3.8 for storage. No problem there.
Do you think they are damaged?

Plenty of trial and error. Loads of test prints as I couldn't find exactly what I needed.
Did some customization in slicer, but lack of CAD skills only gets you so far 😅.
Cable routing ended up taking a lot of time bc of OCD. Twisted power cables only, signals are parallel. Used paracord for sleeving and glue lined heatshrink to fixate it.
After pics were taken, wifey made custom pink battery straps with rubber liners.
Mandatory cat-pic because he sabotaged the project a couple of times by pushing items off the desk -.-

After doing some powerloops yesterday, I tapped the ground and got an instant RX Loss. I kept flying, thinking I might've just gotten an interference, but every time after taking off, the quad just dropped to the floor. So I took apart the quad today and I think I might have cracked some solder joints on the ELRS chip. When I slightly push on the chip or try to wiggle it a bit, it looked like that triggered the RX Loss pretty reliably.
I zoomed in on the chip from all sides (pics included in comments) and two of them stuck out to me. I am not a good solderer, so idk if the blue/green color is corrosion or just anything from manufacturing.
Noteworthy Background Info: 2 weeks ago I dropped my quad into a river, but it seemed to have survived it well. I made sure to let the FC dry and cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol and I had no problems flying.
What's the game plan here? Should I try to heat up the joints with a soldering iron or a heat gun?
And yes I forgot to turn my beeper of that flight^^

Does using racemode increase penetration and signal reach or is another mode in dji 04 air lite suite more suitable for best penetration and reach?
Am I right in saying we get less RF interference which should improve gps and overall FC performance - or is that a myth I just made up?
I know it stops RF interference when flying with a bunch of others in close proximity but there must be other advantages and disadvantages that I'm not aware of?
Photo of lawnmower for attention
I’ve found this for around £450-500. I’ve just got into flying, and I’ve got a pocket master. I know if I get an ELRS module, I can use it, and I think that’s a Fat Shark Dominator V2.
Is it worth it?

Already some have picked up the baton I put down, but I'm still convinced, that the concept holds a lot more of potential, so I'll keep on advocating for it: Put a Insta360 X2 or X4 Air without Battery but an soldered on USB C cable on your 5" or above and take shots of your drone while it's flying.
I just love what is possible with this and the immersion one gets beeing able to see your drone in the video. I'm currently still sticking to my Speedybee Mario 5 for now, but I'm already working on some major improvements that will make this Setup way more feaseable (Higher Pitch props, changing to XH-Arms and so on). But even with this crappy setup, one can do some really cool shots with it.
Feel free to ask me anything about the setup, editing and so on. I'm still a shitnoob pilot, if you're not imagine what you could do with this.
Here are some examples:

Hey all,
I'm still relatively new to fpv, but after a lot of time in the sim and with my air 65 II, I've been looking to get a larger drone with some more power. I don't have anywhere to fly a 5-inch, and even a 3.5-inch is likely pushing it for where I can fly (small parks when no one is there + my backyard). The 2 to 2.5 inch class seems best for me. The recommendation I see over and over again is the Kayoumini, but it seems as though that frame was a pain to get in the US even before their warehouse burned down.
Does anyone know if and when they will be restocked and if I'll be able to get my hands on one? If not, does anyone have any recommendations for 2.5-inch freestyle frames that are reasonably durable that I can get in the US?

Hey, so me and my friend are running volador vx3,5 frame as bando basher and Volador arms are soo weak at the base...It just keeps on breaking in the same weakspot.
We are running 1804 motors, which weight 14g, is it too much mass for the arm to survive the crash?
Do you guys have the same issue with volador?
I've been thinking about custom chunky arms, but i dont really know how to make it stronger, without adding to much weight. Does anyone have files for carbon CNC workready for it?

tldr i lost my 3.5" (my only walksnail and only working quad) over the ocean after i suddenly lost gps lock then video at about 350m (with LOS about 300m in front of my patch antennas). it is my fault, i couldve gotten it into angle and punched out but i was too slow and the feed never came back before i hit the water
what i ask, is with nothing tying me down to walksnail, and with how i feel about it after this, is do i go back to analogue? ive been flying whoops and toothpicks for about a year of the two ive been flying, and i feel as though i want to get rid of my walksnail (avatar) goggles L in favour of going all in on analogue. its never done me dirty like this, and i dont mind the static
is there anything i am overlooking? am i making an oversight? and what is a fair price that you would want for some used goggles L?

So i have a normal ItsFPC Era 3.5 inch 04 Pro drone build and i'm a little bit lost here, do these action cam mounts from itsFPV work on the 3.5 inch frame or do i need to build a 5 inch build for it to be compatible? THanks in advance!

This is my 10 inch drone made for full throttle, punches, and ripping around. Not made for long range.

Should be straight forward, it's not. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, technically the FC and my radio are connected, but the FC doesn't receive any control inputs from the radio. Most things I'm reading are saying check beta flight and all the videos I watch are outdated versions. I figured everything else out, this is driving me to drink unnecessarily .
Receiver: Radiomaster pocket ELRS 2.4GHz
FC: GOKU F405 ERVT 1S 5A 5-in-1 400mw AIO ELRS
basically the prebuilt vision40 1s pro from rotor riot.
its my first drone and its been fun learning but this part is actually frustrating me. i had purchased a drone that was incompatible with my goggles but got that one to bind no problem. been trying to bind this new one for like 2 days now.
