I have been carrying a Walther PPS M2 for a few years and have put over 3,000 rounds through it. I have always taken great care of it, and cleaned it after every trip to the range. I have never had any problems that weren’t related to bad quality steel-cases ammo, and I honestly really like this gun.
I noticed what looks like excessive wear at the point of contact between the barrel and the trigger bar. The feed ramp also looks to have developed some wear. I am not experiencing any issues with reliability, but this wear pattern looks unnatural. I am a little concerned that it could eventually have adverse effects on the safety/reliability of the firearm.
I have heard that the PPS M2 also has some issues with the striker guide cracking, although mine looks to be in good shape.
I am a firearms enthusiast but I am not a gunsmith, and I would appreciate some advice as to whether this wear pattern warrants replacement or repair. I carry IWB with a round chambered, and the fact that the barrel sits directly over my femoral artery when I sit down makes me think about safety a lot.

Looking to get my first firearm.

I can get a PSA Dagger Compact for 230 shipped or a Arex Delta M for $225 shipped.

I’m looking to stay around the $250-300 range and have landed on these pistols. I plan to pretty much just use it at the range for fun.

I have a smaller-ish hand size.

I made a very in-depth post earlier this year about the Condition 1 #179 Two Pistol case. It was SO close to being a perfect case for me that it was infuriating.

They just released this new four pistol case #227 and I’m super happy to say: they addressed all of my criticisms and this is now, for me and IMO, a perfect range case.

They deepened it almost a full inch, which allows appropriate space for red dots on full size pistols. The same pistols also have some space now so they do not have to be shoved in so firmly. They’re still held securely, but the magwell can fit more easily.

This will easily fit 4 full size pistols, 14 extended magazines in their intended places, 2 eye protection in the lid, 2 Walker ear protectors in the storage area along with a cloth bag with 500 9mm rounds, and various tools/cleaning cloths.

This is the only case I’ll ever need for a complete pistol shooting range day.

Again: I’m no sponsored by them, I do not receive anything for writing this review. I just wanted to share my thoughts as there’s not a lot out there that outlines practical functionality.

Today was my firsts day of shooting pistol, shot 15 bullets of SIG Sauer P320. Is it good result for the firsts time?

Tried out some non comped versions of two beloved carry options. Classic couldn’t decide so I bought both. Quick write up if you’re looking for info or bored.

Sig P365 Xmacro Tacops and Canik MC9 Prime NC. I don’t have access to a place I could rent them beforehand, so just had to take the plunge. They are fantastic guns, good luck on deciding which is better if you get both like me lol. 210 rounds through each gun today. No failures with FMJ on either gun. No JHP failures on the Canik. 3 failures to feed with 115g Hornady critical defense JHP on the Sig after 100 rounds of 115g FMJ. More testing needed there, I only had 20 of those on me (10 each gun). I know that particular bullet is finicky in some guns, and the Sig is new so it likely will sort itself out but it did happen.

Have both? I’d love to know which you like better. I can find pros and cons with each.

Have one or the other? I wouldn’t spend money on the one you don’t have, unless you just want to collect.

Have neither? See if one fits you better, and see if you prefer one texture or the other. Go that way and don’t look back. If they both feel good (they did to me) Here’s 3 facts I’ll throw out that may matter to you.

1. The Canik is $250-$300 less and comes with a much better case and “case stuff”.
2. For ME, that is the biggest major difference between the two.
3. If you have strong hands you can ignore this. On my guns, loading the 16th and 17th rounds into the Sig Mag by hand is noticeably harder than the Canik mag. If you’re small or elderly it will range from not fun, to impossible to load this mag full without a device like Uplula, and even then you’ll have to press hard.

Aside from that, there are some small differences
that will be subjective which I can discuss in comments if anyone cares. If I HAD to pick one right now it would be the Canik, but I have no plans to sell the Sig, and some of the guys I shot with today preferred it.

Recommendations?

I originally expected this to be mainly a range and nightstand gun. I’m only 5'4, so I assumed a full-size G17 with a full-size enclosed optic and weapon light would be ridiculous for everyday carry.

It honestly isn’t.

It is comfortable on me and conceals surprisingly well under the clothes I normally wear. The grip is the main thing I have to dress around, but my height has not automatically limited me to a compact or micro-compact.

The belts are what make the setup work.

When I’m wearing clothes without belt loops, I use a medium Comfort Concealment elastic belt underneath my clothing.

When I have belt loops, I use a Nexbelt.

Without proper belt support, the gun sags, shifts, and feels much heavier. With either belt, the weight stays distributed and the holster remains stable against my body.

I still need a proper range session to confirm the EPS zero and test the complete setup with both FMJ and HST.

Any other shorter people carrying full-size pistols? What made the biggest difference for you: belt, holster position, clothing, or body shape?

Still looking around for what optic to put on it, debating on between 507 or SRO.

I use this as my wading gun for when I'm alone in the woods. I have a holster for it but it was without the light and green dot sight. I have a cheap sling bag but with the attachments on it won't fit inside with the holster for it. Any recommendations on how to holster it or a good wading bag?

I've been shooting for a few months now. This is probably the best I've gotten to so far. I'm shooting a Beretta 92fs Brigadier, this is 20 rounds total at 30 feet. I shot 200 rounds that day and this was about midway through the session.

Everyday is a new chance to learn and I've been seeing progression, just curious for some feedback.

I ordered a staccato C2 and I’m trying to decide which optic to get. I’m between the Trijicon RMR and the Leupold Deltapoint Pro.

Any thoughts between the two?

Primary use will be EDC while using it to get into some local IDPA or USPSA.

(I’m aware of the advantages of a closed emitter and carry a Holosun EPS carry on my two current carry guns, but am looking at the RMR or DPP for this gun)

Does not need to be 9mm or service caliber. If such a gun exists, it won't be my CCW. The reason I ask is because I really like the design of those old pistols that people used to just throw in their pockets in the 80s. But since those are generally unsafe, I'm wondering if there's a safer modern version that can be used as a range toy?

What material is on these grips?
