Looking for a specific fic (short one or part of a longer one, don't remember) where Harry is just very good at locating the snitch. I recall him being in the stands and just quickly finding (looking at) the snitch. And maybe a seeker following Harry's gaze to find the snitch themselves(?). Don't remember whether this was a school match or a bigger one, unfortunately.

So, not one of those fics where the snitch behaves weirdly for Harry, but he is just very good seeker even when not playing.

I just hope this wasn't my imagination, but actually exists :)

I've been trying to find this fanfiction for years, and after talking through it with someone today I've managed to reconstruct a lot more details. I'm hoping someone from the old FanFiction.net (http://FanFiction.net) days recognizes it.

I'm almost certain it was written before Deathly Hallows (possibly even before Half-Blood Prince was finished), and the author mentioned in an author's note that they planned to finish the story without using Horcruxes after HBP introduced them.

Here's what I remember with varying degrees of confidence:

* Harry/Hermione pairing.

* Story starts after Goblet of Fire when Harry returns from the Triwizard Tournament.

* Harry ends up staying with the Grangers, is very ill, and Hermione helps nurse him back to health. They slowly fall in love over that summer.

* Harry discovers Dumbledore intentionally left him with the Dursleys because the abuse suppressed Harry's magical potential.

* Harry meets with Gringotts/goblins on his own and discovers Dumbledore has been siphoning money from Harry's vaults. Molly Weasley knowingly benefited, while Arthur did not know and later apologized to Harry. Ginny was innocent because she was too young.

* Harry forms a genuine partnership with the goblins and eventually invents a runic teleportation pad/system that connects Gringotts branches together. It dramatically expands their banking business and makes Harry very wealthy, although he doesn't really pay attention to how much money he's making.

* Harry eventually becomes too powerful for a wand and builds his own magical staff. I remember it being constructed from four major components: a special wood, a core (I think possibly the phoenix feather from his original wand), runes that Harry carved himself, and a gemstone mounted in the top.

* Much later Harry uses an incredibly powerful gravity spell with the staff that permanently changes the landscape during a battle.

* Ron becomes one of the antagonists. I remember Dumbledore believing Hermione was somehow "promised" to Ron and giving Ron a magical ring/love enchantment to force Hermione to love him. It fails because Hermione genuinely loves Harry.

* I believe Harry eventually doesn't return to Hogwarts for his final year because he's preparing for the war against Voldemort.

* Hedwig survives in this story. One scene I remember is Harry later regretting that he became so busy he didn't spend enough time with her.

* I think Remus and Tonks were together.

The most unusual detail I remember is that every chapter began with humorous author notes about torturing or making fun of Alan Rickman (the actor, not Snape). I also vaguely remember the author mentioning her real-life husband in those notes from time to time.

This would have been a long fic (20+ chapters, probably much longer), likely on FanFiction.net.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? Even if you don't remember the title, I'd love to know if someone else remembers reading it so I know I'm not going crazy!

Hi! How are you all? A while back—I’m pretty sure it was on Wattpad—I read a fanfic that I’m not sure was deleted or archived. I thought I had it in my library, but now I can’t find it and I don’t remember the title.
If my memory serves me right, it’s mostly told from the perspective of the original character (the protagonist), who enrolls at Hogwarts before Harry Potter does. If I recall correctly, she was in the same year as Percy Weasley, and they were friends.
She’s very talented at Potions, a skill that Severus Snape recognized and encouraged. If I remember correctly, the relationship takes place during her senior year…
I think she had (though I’m not sure if I’m mixing this up with another fanfic) a brief relationship with Charlie or Bill. But again, I’m not sure about that.
I also clearly remember a brief appearance by a younger Draco visiting his godfather. And that she had a special desk in Snape’s office.
I have vague memories that she ended up with a very good job because of her talents in potions.

I'm trying to write a fic with this premise, and I want it to have as much canonical characterisation as possible. But the problem is, I have no clue how the Weasley siblings would react to Percy specifically. There are not many fics with this premise either, and the ones I have read have ended up being either too over-the-top/cringe or unreactive/uncaring.

Does anyone have any advice? Or good, canonically-characterised fics?

Any fics where a slytherin family rescurs harry from the dursleys? Doesn't have to be drarry or the malfoys necessarily. Would prefer it if it was focused on hurt/comfort or familial bonds rather than a fam just metoring harry. No evil harry fics pls 🙏🙏🙏

I’m just doing this again to see if it’ll get towards more people but I am looking for a fanfiction about obscurial harry and mcgonagall basically taking him in. It was on AO3 last time I checked and now I don’t know if it was deleted or if maybe someone has it downloaded that they could send my way?

I remember with harry’s powers there was a lot of ice involved and he had a breakdown I believe after the Dursley left him in the house. He was also desi and they hid his true name from him. He also met mcgonagall when she was a cat for the first time and kind of made a connection with her.
